An update to the condition of the ditch I was fishing. It is DRY now! With the low flows of the Rio Grande the flow into the ditch has been rediverted to the Rio. Sucks to not have that little gem and a detriment to the wildlife that depended on it.
Corrales ditches. Ridiculous. Only carp I've ever caught outta there were with corn & my spinner rod. Anyone who catches carp with flies in that ditch got my respect. 👊🏾
Try that crawfish pattern you were fishing that time I took you bass fishing on the Rez. Leeches and buggers work well on carp too.

You will mainly fine carp and some bass in the ditches right now. They should start stocking trout soon, it is starting to get colder.
Those carp can be fun to catch! Your pine squirrel leech would do very well for them. 👍

I hooked into a couple of carp up at Storrie lake back in June. I thought I was pulling out a Buick.
They got fight for sure, just throwing their weight around lol.
