Toby wrote this song to his record label after they weren't giving him the air play on the radio - he branched out on his own, and skyrocketed into fame!
@@terri2494 Yes! He left Nashville and went back to OK - started Big Machine Records and recorded this as his first song! BTW - he signed Taylor Swift to this label and she has yet to make any sort of statement toward his passing.
You need to listen to Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue which he wrote after 9/11. Toby was very patriotic and did several USO tours where he would go and sing to our troops.
You've heard a few of his funnier ones now, but his catalog is deep & varied! 👍 I'm sure you've heard what a patriot he was, with songs like *American Soldier* (more somber) and *Courtesy of the Red White and Blue* (more upbeat), but one of his most beautiful songs was written as a tribute to his good friend, Wayman Tisdale. It's called *Cryin' for Me (Wayman's Song)* Wayman was a successful basketball player and an accomplished jazz musician. He lost a leg to cancer before passing from complications from chemo treatments. The lyrics are poignant, the music and saxophone are gorgeous, and the video tribute is very well done! 🎶 💞 I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking into Toby's music! Another serious one that everyone can relate to is *My List* - not reacted to a lot for some reason, but it's a song that'll make you take a step back and think. I remember the first time I ever heard it on the radio. Instantly got my attention and I was a fan from that point on. ❤ Then, if you need another upbeat, funny one, I absolutely love *I Wanna Talk About Me*! Haha It's great and I KNOW you'll love it. 😉😂 The song is funny enough on its own; the video just takes it over the top! 😁
For sure great comment and list of songs. I’d forgotten about Wanna talk about me. I don’t think I’ve heard the Wayman song. I played saxophone all through school, so I definitely need to hear that one.
This has to be my favourite of his. It's reminds me of a special man in my life. Our high school experiences were very different. I was well known and liked with more boys chasing me than I could count. He's always been a geek. We didn't go to high school with him. We lived in towns that were at least an hours drive away from each other. He started Liking (Fancing) me when we were in our early 20s. It took over a decade for me to feel the same way about him, and out of my friend zone. I'm so glad that I've never been mean to him, unlike the girl in this song. He's still a geek, but he's a computer geek with his own small business. He's a sweet, kind gentleman, and I'm a firery kooky lady. There's a strong connection between us, and we tend to balance each other out.
Toby has a ton of these funny songs/videos. He also has a cool duet/video with Willie Nelson, called 'Beer for my horses'. It's like a mini movie. He also can make you cry or want to enlist. After 9/11 he wrote 'Courtesy of the red, white & blue, the angry American'. The song & official video is amazing. For a beautiful, yet powerful song, he wrote a beautiful tribute to his friend Wayman Tisdale when he passed from Cancer. Now when I hear Toby singing it, I feel like his words are describing how we are feeling about losing him. Beautiful song & video. No laughs.
Toby Keith had so many great songs so whether you need to hear something heartfelt, patriotic, romantic, sad, melancholy, inspiring, thoughtful, or just plain funny, yeah especially funny, then Toby’s got what you need. My favorite songs by Toby Keith are Who’s That Man; Wish I Didn’t Know Now; You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like That; He Ain’t Worth Missing; We Were In Love; Upstairs Downtown; Don't Let the Old Man In; How Do You Like Me Now; Made in America; I Wanna Talk About Me; American Soldier; Trailerhood; A Little Too Late; A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action; and of course Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue. RIP Toby, we miss you!
Did you notice that at the end of this song the guitar sounds like na na na na na like a kid would do when they did something and got away with it? R.I.P. to the icon and legend of country music Toby Keith he may be gone but never forgotten!
Courtesy of the Red White and Blue (Angry American) is an emotional one. He wrote it after his father passed and 9/11. He was definitely a great artist.
Oh Kabir I love that you're reacting to Toby and giving him some attention. He is also very nostalgic for many of us around your age. I grew up on country, given I've turned into more of a rock/metal chick but I love everything and country has my heart. I can suggest plenty of great and REAL country if you like the old sound too 💘 Happy Valentines Day!
Courtesy of the red, white and blue and something very different “I wanna talk about me”. Both excellent - one patriotic, the other downright hilarious!
Toby had some serious songs but was definitely best known for his fun playful songs. Beer For My Horses is one of the most popular ones. Most likely because of how fun the mini movie like video makes it. Trailerhood is another funny one, and one of my favorites. He also has a rather funny song that was written for Willie Nelson's Birthday called I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again
I love this song but then I love all of Toby's music. One of my favorite parts is towards the end when the music starts the ' na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na' refrain. It is so obvious he is taunting her with " look what you passed up!" Toby's music runs the whole spectrum. Yes, he has lots of lighthearted, fun songs but he also has some deep and poignant ones as well. Keep exploring, you won't be disappointed!
I'd highly recommemd his films too: the two of which I'm most familiar being "Beer for my Horses" (very funny!), and "Broken Bridges" (very heartwarming!)!
Hi Kabir! Since you're doing reactions to country music, I'd like to see you react to Willie Nelson's Whiskey River or his version of Townes Van Zantes Pancho and Lefty. Also Southern Rock bands such as Blackfoot, 38 Special, Lynard Skynyrd, and the Allman Brothers. Great stuff! They are a fusion of Rock and Country.
Who's that Man? I second the nomination. Toby was as quick to make you cry as to laugh. He has a lot of deep stuff that is best heard with the Kleenex box near.
Kabir ...I am promising you ... Toby's song , MY LIST, is one that will create more introspection and life change in people than any other he produced. True intergenerational connection and application. Please react to that one. It will not disappoint I promise! Loved this reaction as always! Thanks!
For a really fun song react to red solo cup also Toby was very patriotic he two amazing songs about the military courtesy of the red white and blue and American Soldier
I love this song. I got some sweet revenge on my high school crush who wouldn't give me the time of day back in high school. I was fat and he was popular and very good looking, of course I didn't have a chance. Fast forward 10 years and I lost all of the extra weight and I ran into him at a club. He didn't recognize me after my weight loss and wanted me to dance. I did, for a couple of songs. He bought me a couple of drinks and at the end of the night asked for my number. That's when I reminded him who I was, laughed when it dawned on him, and strolled out. Man did it feel good 😂😂😂
I can relate to that song I did that to a guy I use to work with in Colorado him and his friends were trying to do that to me they were younger than me and I wouldn't give them the time of day especially through Facebook too so I blocked them didn't give them any time of day lol!!!!!!😂🤣😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I worked for the " Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill." In the burbs of Chicago. He was contracted to say " meet me at the restaurant for the after party " at the end of his concerts when he was in town - he no showed and we had to empty the kitchen to break up the fight it caused out in the bar. Then he did show up when the state was dedicating a day in his name. He played 1 song and then split, and again, us cooks had to go out and break up a fight. Didn't like him then, still don't like him now.
Toby's videos were always so fun.
Best revenge song ever. awesome reaction. btw the kid at the beginning is Toby's son. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
LISTEN TO "TRAILERHOOD" BY HIM. It's great. RIP Toby Keith. I didn't know he died before watching this.
Toby wrote this song to his record label after they weren't giving him the air play on the radio - he branched out on his own, and skyrocketed into fame!
I didn’t know that. I bet whoever made that decision has regretted it ever since, especially with Toby living in their radio!
@@terri2494 Yes! He left Nashville and went back to OK - started Big Machine Records and recorded this as his first song! BTW - he signed Taylor Swift to this label and she has yet to make any sort of statement toward his passing.
@@jdodd2798he was only 1/2 owner of big machine records
@@jdodd2798she made a statement 5 days ago but Tim Mcgraw and Rascal Flats were big machine records too
You must listen to RED SOLO CUP
Happy Valentines Day Kabir. Sending love and blessings to you and yours.
I Wanna Talk About Me is another great Toby Keith song
Toby Keith was definitely special 💔❤
Such a fun song.
I love that you knew what the song was about in less than 30 seconds. 😂
A couple more fun 😀 songs of his: "Red Solo Cup"; "I Wanna Talk About Me"
Hello from north Texas Kabir! I love this music journey you're on. Have a fantastic Valentine's Day!
