@@itsantone8262 For Powder, it could be experienced like that since she has difficulties separating her hallucinations/voices from reality. But by acquiring the cut, she can definitely comfirm that everything really happened I think
The details 1:26 HERE. RIGHT FUCKING HERE. When Jinx is blasting away with her minigun (Pow-Pow), the shots eventually get close to shooting us (the camera), giving us the instinctual "woah, I almost got shot" sort of feeling, and immediately afterwards Vi nearly gets shot too, and because of what just happened we can easily relate to her. It's a small detail, but sheeeeeesh.

Jinx story is so epic, sad, and beautiful at the same time. Ofc I feel bad for her, but there is a tragic beauty in how she went mad, if you get me
It really is a beautiful tragedy. Such a well written show and the characters are developing extremely well despite only having a few episodes to do so
Its called apreciatting good writting. While at the same I do not aprove Silco's morally way of dealing with things I gotta say his character was the most impressive for me. That is a good written villain,at the end he decided to the same thing as vander, not to sacrifice a daughter for the peace he wanted.
I love how Vi gets to see a glimpse of just who Powder has become and you can tell that it scares her, that she is now a capable and deadly fighter with no remorse in her actions as she ruthlessly beats these people and you can just see that realization in her eyes seeing the smile on Jinx's face.
Jinx was the only one there going for the kill even when people were disabled. Love how that shows how experienced she is and why the firelights are afraid. No one wants to get their skull blown out.
1:06 I think that moment really shows that jinx and ekko have been fighting for a long time now. She dodges the fireflights attacks perfectly and even manages to put a bomb on him.
@@mindwentblank3816 the firelights show how much they’ve fought her as well. Not a single one of them dies in this fight with jinx. Plus, their hoverboards were probably made in part to allow them to evade jinx’s attacks as she is the only one in zaun who’s shown to use guns
The way they were flying around that tells me that they were waiting for her to run out of bullets. That's why ekko wasn't worried even when she had her gun pointed at the guy at the end.
I love the little detail of her lip quiver when she saw them carrying Vi aswell as the fact she charged at them instead of shooting so she wouldn’t hit her sister. Not to mention VI’s gradual realization of what Powders has become which was exactly what she wanted to keep her away from. The details in this show are phenomenal, it keeps me so emotionally invested. This show is 100% only the beginning of more indescribable things from Riot.
Its amazing! They made a blink and you'll miss it lip movement that shows so so much emotion, and yet I had to rewatch that scene several times to grasp it. So much effort!
It's actually Ekko she runs forward to with the gun. She looks at his friend holding VI and back to Ekko and runs towards Ekko, her mind goes into game mode when she fights Ekko all throughout S1. That's why she laughs when she shoots at him on episodes, until VI gets caught, she has a way of calling timeout
I just love this chaotic moment 1:29 the way Violet realizes Powder is no longer the little PowPow, not only she became terrifyingly strong but her insanity developed too.. She needs help.
@@jasmines_solace You're right, she has clearly reached a point of non return just like characters such as Harley Quinn or The Joker, even with a redemption arc they will still remain 'different' in a way. Ekko & V could still save her soul tho
1:28 many people missed or forgot about this short scene here. This is Vi's first time seeing what Jinx has become. Not only did Jinx almost shot at Vi by accident, she was absolutely enjoying the mass shooting. This is very different from Vi or most regular people's values - Vi was just fist fighting while self-defending here. This incident planted the first seed; then Ekko told Vi that Jinx is too far gone. The next time Vi and Jinx met, Jinx blew up the whole bridge, killing dozens of enforcers and almost killed her and Caitlyn. When Vi said that she ran away when the real monster showed up, she was talking about Jinx, not Silco. It also explains that why Vi was doing anything but actually searching for Jinx in the later episodes - she didn't really know how to face her.
@@Omnipotentmonkey who do you think the monster was then? Silco? It's an obvious possibility but I don't think it was 100% clarified anywhere in the show
It makes me sad for both Vi and Jinx because Vi just found her sister and just seeing how she fights and acts, Vi is heartbroken at what Silco has done to her. The way she said Powder just shows that she never wanted her sister to be this way and sees what has happened since Jinx was by herself all these years.
@@trueomen5017 This is all true, but the intention and motive with which he provides for her is textbook narcissism/savior complex(it is implied he literally drowned/baptized her in the river) It’s clear that he favors her, but it comes with caveat. He wants her so he can use her, and also because it probably feels good to take something that Vander loved away from him So because she has utility to Silco and because he can control her physically(money, food, shelter) and mentally(caregiving, vilifying her father/sister); he probably does feel some level of attachment to her as a possession
I like how when that firelight first disappears jinx looks shocked because she probably thought it was a hallucination. A normal person would just think they got away, but Jinx is not really in a good mental state. And then in the ending where everyone leaves and it’s as if they were never there, jinx is probably even more afraid that it was a hallucination. It’s a good thing she got that cut on her leg to tell her that it was all real.
I absolutely adore the brief fight scene with Jinx and Vi at 0:46. Even after years of separation, trauma, and mistrust, they are still sisters and have each other’s backs without a moment’s hesitation. I especially love what this moment means for Vi. Unlike Jinx, she has no weapons or magic powers to help her in this fight, but none of that matters. Her little sisters needed her help and she wasn’t gonna leave her. Not again…
I love how even the secondary firefly characters are smart, adaptive and powerful when fighting jinx. Finally veteran fighters who aren't killed in a couple seconds by main characters.
It's also implied by Ekko that this isn't their first time dealing with Jinx. They know how she fights by now, so they respond in kind. It's really sad if you think about it
It's also what happens to Senua in Hellblade. The creators of Hellblade worked with schizophrenia patients to make the experience as real as possible, so the voices Senua hears also warn them right before an enemy attacks. It might be the same condition with Jinx and how every time she dodges things like that with super reflexes she happens to be in a psychotic episode (scribbles and drawings on the screen point out that way).
God it always gets me at the end how small Jinx is. She hunches over, her eyes wide and searching, the soft "Vi?" Before she cries out. She genuinely resembles a child in her mannerisms right there - Vi wasn't only a sister to Jinx but also a mother. I adore how this shows how that child comes out in Jinx naturally when Vi is around and how she reverts to a lost, scared girl when Vi is taken from her again.
Not trying to state the obvious but, based on the game... This will not only not happen but only get worst XD We are still maybe 1 big trauma away from League of Legends actual Jinx. Just don`t know yet what it is.
@@iiiivvvv9986 Yeah Swain's birds are ravens. Everyone calls these birds crows but maybe they are ravens? I dont really know how to spot the difference to be honest
I was so worried Vi was gonna have that “oh god you’re insane, never mind” moment with Jinx, which would be a really boring way to handle this relationship between siblings. But then she says “you can fire that thing at me but I’m only here for you” and it was so much more meaningful.
It's a relatively small detail, but I absolutely love how they animated that one Firelight girl with the bird mask. She never talks or even gets named in the show, but they took the time to give her a distinctive way of moving and fighting.
@@QuackersExpress exactly, and Marcus is technically working under Silco too. The man that is truly to blame for all this, is Silco. This scene and what came before ("Light it, and wherever you are I'll find you") fucking broke my heart. Jinx not being sure whether she's hallucinating, Vi realizing just how fucked up her little sister is... Just ouch. I legit cried lmao
The fact that Vi is realizing through out the fight that Powder(Jinx) is not okay and that Jinx remains alone at the end, thinking that she "Jinxed it" again broke my heart.#TeamVi
0:13 Beautiful how for one brief moment you can see VI breaking through Jinx to reach Powder with a simple touch, completely disarming her. All the confusion in her mind gone for a second. Maybe Powder could have been saved if the firelights didn't show up that evening.
Caitlyn wouldn’t ignore Jinx’s crimes though. She’s still killed plenty of people and cause a lot of destruction in piltover. They will fight and Vi will consider powder dead , leaving Jinx alone. Jinx will have her freedom with no one to hold her down. Not even Silco. Maybe they’ll constantly just be at each other’s throats because Jinx seems to want the attention.
Ngl I started watching arcane only to see crazy Jinx with better graphics, but after knowing backstory it's just sad to see what trauma have done to her. I can't watch cinematics with her anymore, I cant help but feel bad for her tragedy which happened to her. I used to think Jinx is cool and edgy but now she is a symbol of tragedy for me
0:48 - can we just appreciate Vi’s himbo energy that, as a bunch of dudes on flying machines with guns come out, circling them, her instinct is to put up the good ol’ fisticuffs?
Just after noticing the Firelights, Jinx put herself behind Vi to protect her despite aiming for her head few seconds ago. She completely forgets about the stone and about Caitlyn. She even completely forgets about her fear of abandonment and about her anger towards Vi. What a beautiful moment. (Also, it's pretty ironical that the one who catches the stone before it fall in the depths is Caitlyn. She unintentionally sealed her own mother's fate. I feel bad for her.)

0:50 this one scene is absolutely awesome. Notice how the camera and objects move to make your eyes follow a sort of snail shell pattern. The camera moves and makes your eyes follow to the right and up around V and Jinx, then the Firelight dude moves to the left, this continues as he moves from left to down around Jinx and to the right, then continues with camera rotating to the right and finishes with Vi's punch from right to left. Right up left left down right right left. It's so satisfying to follow, I love it.
This show's animation is brilliant in general, but the way Jinx's lips quiver at 2:39 when she notices Vi knocked out is just... oof. Bless the animators. Amazing. Their hard work, dedication, efforts. Just amazing.
0:19 I wonder if she can tell the difference between the voices and noises in her head and the noises in real life- so far she seems to be able to, but I’m not really sure
it clearly gets harder and more confusing for her as the season goes on. you can see her talking to mylo before and you can tell she sort of knows he’s just in her head, but by the end of it at the dinner scene she seems completely out of it, especially at the end when the voices/hallucinations combine with vi and silco’s pulling her in both directions end the scene with her lashing out and spraying billets everywhere
She can tell what she is hearing isnt real atleast in most instances i would say theres only like 1 senario in season 2 arguably she doesnt but, i think she can tell.
that VI's whisper at the end, before she was knocked out, when she realized what her sister had turned into and was scared, God, it just brought me to tears...
If u think about how strong Jinx is and she makes everything she uses herself and alone, without using Magic or anything like that, she is probably the most capable Character in Arcane. Ekko probably wouldve lost the fight if they didnt play the Game from their Childhood.
To be fair, I suspect her Gatling gun Pow Pow is augmented or runs on Shimmer, or is firing pistol rounds. Jinx is quite muscular for how slight she is but even so, there's no way she'd be able to Cary and fire that thing normally. Besides that you're right, her arsenal and how much she can add to it is terrifying. Ekko probably wouldn't have survived in a normal fight.
If they didn't play in their childhood then ekko will kill jinx when he had her on the ground since in his eyes, she is nothing but terrorist that kill some of his squad.
@@thesauce1682 well the point is that he would never get her on the ground if they didnt. Think you got a wrong picture of what was the point of my comment tho.
We the LoL fans all know, at the end of all, Jinx(Powder) and Vi would go separate ways, one as the psycotic villain, one as the enforcer, and fight each other. I thought that incident at ep3 was the whole reason why, but this ep6 told us it is more than that. At least Vi is still trying to save her little sister and Powder is still missing her older sister deep down in her heart and not completely psychotic yet. I mean, what would happen to them after all of this... Poor girls......
Idk but some stated that the Vi got amnesia and Jinx causing havoc at piltover is for Vi to remember her. But it is also stated that the fight between them is sisterly bonding
@@EskiLdn I`m so sorry for what is to come for you then D: Basically she is still one step away from being what she is in game, which probably means she will face yet another gigantic trauma. You will know when she converts into League of Legends jinx when her eyes become pink (her actual eye color). She is a major vilain and adult Cait and Vi (older than the current) often struggle to fight her together. She is very similar to the Joker in batman in a way.
They were literally in the middle of a fight for their lives, lol. There is no "Vi sees that Powder is gone" in this scene. Vi still views her as her sister, she just never wanted her to have to be involved in fighting like this.

The Art direction is amazing. By Far one of the best animated type of show or movie I ever seen. The deep detail to everything. The expressions on their face to how they move. You would think it was mocap. But it wasn't. Seeing Vi & JInx fight back to back is a great thing to see, cause their was a time Jinx always felt like she was weak. Vi shock seeing how far gone her sister has become, is the only reason she was caught off guard. Siblings at it's core is a very powerful thing to see a love one you grew up with loosing themselves is hard to take in. I gotta give Riot some serious Congrats for this story telling. 6 Years and they created a very deep, heart breaking series and it viewers are begging for more.
this may be one of the single best clips of animation ever put on a screen. without any context, this scene would still tell a story without so much as a word spoken. absolutely insane
Ngl when she said "Sister thought I missed her, Bet you wouldn't miss her." I thought she was talking to Vi, but looking back again, shes talking to the gun and I'm pretty sure shes already named it pow-pow since she goes by jinx now. So in this instance it seems as though jinx said I bet you (pow-pow) wouldn't miss her then wound up her gatling.
I’ll say this cus I feel like no one else will but the impact of wht happened to claggor and mylo in act 1 affects jinx so much that she’s been seeing them as ghost is WOW and the thought that they probably ridicule her and call her jinx as a insult all this time for all these years is just the icing on the cake
Man, I always had a thing for that fighting style of Jinx. You know, like Vi has defense in her heart. And she fights with determination and grit but there's this line she wont cross. The Firelights fight with ferocity, but there's a goal in mind, the mission is victory. But with Jinx, there is no line in the sand, and there is no greater mission. She fights to annihilate her enemies.
The part in the facial expressions with every word at 0:04 was devine. It's so vivid and so expressively bringing out her poor mentak state. The quality is devine
What’s awesome about the creators is they did their homework for Jinx’s character. Jinx shows a lot of signs for paranoid schizophrenia aside from the obvious hallucinations, delusions, etc. At the start when she says “Sister thought I missed her” she’s using clang, which is when someone suffering from schizophrenia uses short rhymes and phrases that don’t make a ton of sense to anyone except the person saying it. It’s so small but also so cool just how in depth Riot looked into her mental illness(es).
0:46 I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS DETAIL!!! 😩😫😫 Vi looks back at Jinx (Powder) almost as if she is expecting to see that Jinx needs to be protected the same way she used to when they were kids. Or that Vi’s surprised that Jinx is right behind her ready to fight since it’s not what’s she’s used to seeing from Powder. But when she looks back she can see that Jinx seemed fine, so Vi turns back around to guard her back. And Jinx is doing the same for her!!! ❤❤❤
That tipped me off. There's seems to be more going on in Jynx's head than mere madness. If those whisperings are simply in her own mind, HOW did they alert her to the danger before she dodged?
Am I the only one who see the tragedy in the fact that we get a glimpse here or the untouchable duo that powder and vi could have been together If only 🥺
1:50 is forreal one of the coldest moments in all of animation, and I know a lot of people say that for like very basic battle sequences bc they dont really have taste or a refined pallet, but this right is just…incredible fight choreography and visuals
Idk how easy it's going to be for me to play as Jinx, any more. Seeing what's she's going through is so heart breaking. "Are you real?" is such a painful line to hear. Not only did they manage to sell us on why Jinx is the way she is, they really made us care about her. I really want her to get some help, and knowing it happen makes this harder to watch. Mr. "I *had* a crush until you started talking to your gun," kidnapping Vi definitely didn't help her. From episode one we could see her descent with Milo constantly talking down to a 7 year old who now desperately wants to prove herself. When she finally does, it goes awfully wrong, and her sister is taken topside without her noticing causing her to think she was abandoned. The environment she was raised in wasn't helpful to her mental state. Sevika took the place of Milo, now talking down to an obviously very sick girl, but it's not like there was ever any therapy available to her. Also, this is the episode we learn she named her minigun after "Powder." I wonder what's going to lead to Vi becoming an enforcer because I don't believe she'd abandon Jinx, again. I don't think she'd do it without good reason.
I always come back to rewatch this clip, especially at this part 1:53 sends shivers down my spine by how utterly amazing this series is. The hit of reality that Vi suddenly realises that her little sister is long gone, now a psychopathic monster just like the man that raised her up to be this way.

Oh shit I didn’t even think about it like that :o

Same. And Vi too. She just wanted her sister to have a better life and saw what her absence did to the kid. Was heartbreaking
Notice how jinx doesn't shoot when they had her sister instead runs toward them, a simple but lovely detail.
1:27 yeah :) she definitely would mind hitting Vi xD nah, she doesnt care.
@@Homelanderwasright she didn't even notice she was there. She was too focused on the fire lights so yeah, I think she does care.

Thar was Ekko?
@@Teemo6544 no but hes the leader of the fireflights and the fireflights all have pretty much the same tactics
So much effort!
arcane is so amazing, im so attached to it 😭
It's actually Ekko she runs forward to with the gun.
Bro I just realized. They even dilated her pupils.( or made them focus. I can't remember the right word rn)
i just want them to be together happily (even only for a day) but i dont think thats gonna happen and it makes me sad thinking about it 😭
@@jasmines_solace You're right, she has clearly reached a point of non return just like characters such as Harley Quinn or The Joker, even with a redemption arc they will still remain 'different' in a way. Ekko & V could still save her soul tho
Jinx is perfect.
Not yo mention the firelights had non lethal weapons and there it is Jinx shooting a minigun at them.
@@aso375 They do have blades tho. And it almost looked like one firelight was ready to kill Vi until Ekko stopped him and said "take her".
@flungoutofspace thx :)
". When Vi said that she ran away when the real monster showed up, she was talking about Jinx, not Silco"
Objectively wrong, but you do you.
She realizes she shouldn't have left her sister that day
Cada accion tiene una consecuencia, pero en Jinx sufrio tantas cosas que no se puede culpar a una sola persona.
What exactly Silco has done to her? Gave her home, guidence, made her stronger, means to defend herself, relieved her from fear. He never lied to her.
@@trueomen5017 This is all true, but the intention and motive with which he provides for her is textbook narcissism/savior complex(it is implied he literally drowned/baptized her in the river)
It’s clear that he favors her, but it comes with caveat. He wants her so he can use her, and also because it probably feels good to take something that Vander loved away from him
So because she has utility to Silco and because he can control her physically(money, food, shelter) and mentally(caregiving, vilifying her father/sister); he probably does feel some level of attachment to her as a possession
Especially since Vi wanted what's best for Jinx
I like how when that firelight first disappears jinx looks shocked because she probably thought it was a hallucination. A normal person would just think they got away, but Jinx is not really in a good mental state. And then in the ending where everyone leaves and it’s as if they were never there, jinx is probably even more afraid that it was a hallucination. It’s a good thing she got that cut on her leg to tell her that it was all real.
1:47 gotta be one of the sickest dodges ive ever seen
That dodge convinced me that this show fucking slaps.
Everytime I play a fight song imagining a Jinx AMV this is one of the scenes that comes to my mind.

It's really sad if you think about it
One thing i notice tho, when she's having these psychotic episodes her reflex is just up top like at 1:48, she's basically unstoppable.
Mejores que el sentido aracnido

It's also what happens to Senua in Hellblade. The creators of Hellblade worked with schizophrenia patients to make the experience as real as possible, so the voices Senua hears also warn them right before an enemy attacks. It might be the same condition with Jinx and how every time she dodges things like that with super reflexes she happens to be in a psychotic episode (scribbles and drawings on the screen point out that way).
@Bleh Surgery, surprisingly.
If we know something good, it's that she still love Vi. That also means there's hope

it clearly gets harder and more confusing for her as the season goes on. you can see her talking to mylo before and you can tell she sort of knows he’s just in her head, but by the end of it at the dinner scene she seems completely out of it, especially at the end when the voices/hallucinations combine with vi and silco’s pulling her in both directions end the scene with her lashing out and spraying billets everywhere

2:53 THE TRANSITION OF HER FACIAL EXPRESSIONS WHEN SHE REALIZED THAT SHE LOST HER AGAIN IS SO GOOOOOD
The dodge at 1:48 is one of the most badass moments in the entire show even though it's a fraction of a second
I love how jinx bite her lips when she’s about to shoot her gun. It’s a cute attention to detail.

Jinx’s reflexes are goals! Lmao
A League of Legends series had NO fucking business to go THIS fucking hard in every god damn scene. Masterpiece.
0:46 I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS DETAIL!!! 😩😫😫
Vi looks back at Jinx (Powder) almost as if she is expecting to see that Jinx needs to be protected the same way she used to when they were kids. Or that Vi’s surprised that Jinx is right behind her ready to fight since it’s not what’s she’s used to seeing from Powder. But when she looks back she can see that Jinx seemed fine, so Vi turns back around to guard her back. And Jinx is doing the same for her!!! ❤❤❤

I like how as the scene goes on Jinx starts firing faster and more frequently, Like she's getting excited or something.
1:58 i can see why vi is acting like that when she is seeing jinx/pouder being a badass for 8 seconds
1:48 I love that head movement she does so much
in 1:47 you can see that Jinx's inner voices warned her about the attacker above her
That tipped me off.
