Wrong Wrong Wrong - It is now 2023 (July) this video has a couple of (and I only watched half of it so far) errors. 1.) Outdated Video - PC Simmers have to now use the EA Desktop app because Origin was taken away from us. 2.) You CANNOT mess with the Mods folder while you are running the game.
I havent been able to play scenarios or get jobs until now. Thanks so much. Im so happy I was able to fix it. I thought there was something wrong and I got worried; having it not work made me not want to play.

Hello there! You could try to reset your Electronic Arts folder. Don't worry, I know it sounds a bit scary, but you won't lose anything if you do it as follows! 1. Rename your Electronic Arts folder into Electronic Arts folder (with your game completely closed & don't delete it!!) 2. Open your game 3. Close your game straightaway 4. A new EA folder should pop up 5. Go into your old EA folder > The Sims 4 > Saves > select all files + copy 6. Go into your new EA folder > The Sims 4 > Saves > paste your files The same thing needs to be done with your Tray and Screenshots files (go back into your EA old and copy your Tray files and then paste those into your new Tray folder and so on) 7. As for your mods & cc, please try not to copy any of your old SCRIPT mods. Try to redownload those and then install them into your new EA > The Sims 4 > Mods folder Most of your old cc should be fine, so you can copy those from your old Mods folder. Let me know how it goes! 🤗

We can then try to delete the following files from your TS4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (those are basically cache temporary files that need to be deleted every now and then). It's okay if those come back after launching your game! And theeen, resetting the mods folder it's key when it comes to cc & mods issues! Here are the steps: 1. Make sure you have mods&cc enabled in your game > close your game 2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (but keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on) 3. Open your game & close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder should pop up 5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder 6. Download the latest versions for your script mods 7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder Fingers crossed it makes a difference for you!

So basically we can still apply the same method since we're dealing with the same files/folders No matter what platform we're using (steam/origin/ea), we still have the very same Electronic Arts, The Sims 4 & Mods folder! But if this particular method does not work for you, we can try to get rid of all script mods (aka mods that end with ts4script & some of them might also end with package - for instance, mccc does have a file that ends with ts4script as well as one that ends with package), reset our Mods folder & install the latest updates for the script mods! I'll lay out the steps for resetting the Mods folder here if you wanna give it a shot! 1. Make sure you have mods&cc allowed in the game > close ts4 2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (buuut keep your Mods old folder as we'll need it later on) 3. Open ts4 & close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder should pop up 5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old 📂 to the new Mods folder 6. Download the latest versions for your script mods 7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder I truly hope this helps you out 🙏
this didn't work for me!! i really wanted it to but I think the latest update might be to blame, ik this video is a little old. nevertheless, this was a good instructional video. the problem i'm having is all the icons at the bottom of the screen have disappeared when i go to play a household :(

I don’t really know what to do because I recently just got into playing sims again, I downloaded most of the cc myself, but I also downloaded some cc folders. when I open up my game it loads, obviously but it only shows the loading screen then it just goes white and I don’t see the home screen, how can I fix this?
Here are some more tips that may help: You can start off by deleting any adult mods you'd have in your Mods folder. If that doesn't seem to be of help, you can try to take out all of your script mods & install the latest versions for those. I'm so sorry, I know how saddening that can be! Have you also deleted it from your Recycle bin? You can also try to look into your Downloads folder and see if you can find some parts of your cc/mods as well. Looking into your OneDrive backup (if you're on Windows) might also help you if you've backed up your Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods folder. Let me know if I can be of help!
hey so I have a problem. I have downloaded EA, i mean i did download origin but then EA force deleted origin and installed itself, i can't find the repair button, do you know where it is?
Yesss, so we did go online on EA, right? The 3 lines button in the top left corner > go online (make sure we have Wi-Fi/internet on as well) Then go into your Library > click on The Sims 4 icon > Manage > Repair For some reason this did not show up for me as well, but I had to update the game first & it showed up!
@@Darielle I have clicked on the 3 dots on the sims 4 icon in library on the EA app but it says, 'manage on steam' I have even unlinked my steam and EA accounts and when I opened steam to click the manage option, it instead did not give me any option to repair
Did we buy ts4 via steam or via origin/ea? If we did it via origin/ea, here’s what we wanna also try Make sure you know your steam account credentials beforehand so that we don’t log out & then forget the account, okay? So once we’ve written down the acc somewhere or if we already know it, that’s great We can try to uninstall steam & see if the steam option disappears

Hey whenever i start my sims and i get into the gameplay after a few min the game freezes like i can’t do anything ( i try to exit the game or go to manage worlds even clicking on my sim and nothing works)
Hello there!
You could try to reset your Electronic Arts folder. Don't worry, I know it sounds a bit scary, but you won't lose anything if you do it as follows!
1. Rename your Electronic Arts folder into Electronic Arts folder (with your game completely closed & don't delete it!!)
2. Open your game
3. Close your game straightaway
4. A new EA folder should pop up
5. Go into your old EA folder > The Sims 4 > Saves > select all files + copy
6. Go into your new EA folder > The Sims 4 > Saves > paste your files
The same thing needs to be done with your Tray and Screenshots files (go back into your EA old and copy your Tray files and then paste those into your new Tray folder and so on)
7. As for your mods & cc, please try not to copy any of your old SCRIPT mods. Try to redownload those and then install them into your new EA > The Sims 4 > Mods folder
Most of your old cc should be fine, so you can copy those from your old Mods folder.

my cc hair color change button doesn't work, whenever I try to change it to a different color it never works and the color always stays black, ive deleted so much cc. What should I do?
We can then try to delete the following files from your TS4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (those are basically cache temporary files that need to be deleted every now and then). It's okay if those come back after launching your game!
And theeen, resetting the mods folder it's key when it comes to cc & mods issues!
Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you have mods&cc enabled in your game > close your game
2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (but keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on)
3. Open your game & close it straightaway
4. A new Mods folder should pop up
5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder
6. Download the latest versions for your script mods
7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder

So basically we can still apply the same method since we're dealing with the same files/folders
No matter what platform we're using (steam/origin/ea), we still have the very same Electronic Arts, The Sims 4 & Mods folder!
But if this particular method does not work for you, we can try to get rid of all script mods (aka mods that end with ts4script & some of them might also end with package - for instance, mccc does have a file that ends with ts4script as well as one that ends with package), reset our Mods folder & install the latest updates for the script mods!
I'll lay out the steps for resetting the Mods folder here if you wanna give it a shot!
1. Make sure you have mods&cc allowed in the game > close ts4
2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (buuut keep your Mods old folder as we'll need it later on)
3. Open ts4 & close it straightaway
4. A new Mods folder should pop up
5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old 📂 to the new Mods folder
6. Download the latest versions for your script mods
7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder

this didn't work for me!! i really wanted it to but I think the latest update might be to blame, ik this video is a little old. nevertheless, this was a good instructional video. the problem i'm having is all the icons at the bottom of the screen have disappeared when i go to play a household :(

I don’t really know what to do because I recently just got into playing sims again, I downloaded most of the cc myself, but I also downloaded some cc folders. when I open up my game it loads, obviously but it only shows the loading screen then it just goes white and I don’t see the home screen, how can I fix this?
Here are some more tips that may help:
You can start off by deleting any adult mods you'd have in your Mods folder. If that doesn't seem to be of help, you can try to take out all of your script mods & install the latest versions for those. Here are listed most of the mods/cc that do require an update: forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/993732/broken-updated-mods-cc-sept-21-spa-day-refresh-patch
If that doesn't fix your issue either, you can try to reset your EA folder and then place only updated versions for your mods, as shown in here: ua-cam.com/video/-pCFvTcqQnQ/v-deo.html
Keep in mind that you should not delete the old EA folder in order to copy all of your saves, tray, screenshots & cc and paste those into your newly generated EA folder.
The other alternative would be scanning your Mods folder by using this BE mod & deleting your files that show up in your report list (here's a helpful tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/WncYhAAtKcM/v-deo.html)
Last but not least, if you haven't tried this already, there's also the 50/50 method that allows you to determine the problematic cc: ua-cam.com/video/kp_fdyXQCfE/v-deo.html

I'm so sorry, I know how saddening that can be! Have you also deleted it from your Recycle bin? You can also try to look into your Downloads folder and see if you can find some parts of your cc/mods as well. Looking into your OneDrive backup (if you're on Windows) might also help you if you've backed up your Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods folder. Let me know if I can be of help!

hey so I have a problem. I have downloaded EA, i mean i did download origin but then EA force deleted origin and installed itself, i can't find the repair button, do you know where it is?
Yesss, so we did go online on EA, right?
The 3 lines button in the top left corner > go online (make sure we have Wi-Fi/internet on as well)
Then go into your Library > click on The Sims 4 icon > Manage > Repair
For some reason this did not show up for me as well, but I had to update the game first & it showed up!
@@Darielle I have clicked on the 3 dots on the sims 4 icon in library on the EA app but it says, 'manage on steam' I have even unlinked my steam and EA accounts and when I opened steam to click the manage option, it instead did not give me any option to repair
Did we buy ts4 via steam or via origin/ea?

Make sure you know your steam account credentials beforehand so that we don’t log out & then forget the account, okay?
So once we’ve written down the acc somewhere or if we already know it, that’s great
We can try to uninstall steam & see if the steam option disappears
