Nothing works :( I reset my electronic arts folder *FIXED !! - so what I had to do was move my family into a new house, sometimes your house can have buggy objects in it or the whole house is a bug, you can try to spot out which build mode object is causing the problem (but you have to do it after you moved the family out and then go to manage worlds and then build mode or you won’t be able to access the house) but I’m lazy asf so I just moved them into a totally new house and everything is fine. :) hope this helps and thanks for your video !

I did everything that you did but my sims 4 still has an issue, I can open the game but I can’t open any households, and when I hover my mouse over any house it just shows a flickering blue square then when i open “manage households” Its all empty then when I go to an old save file I had it’s all fine? it’s been a while since it’s been like that (after updating)
If that doesn't fix your issue, you can try to reset your EA folder and then place only updated versions for your mods, as shown in here: ua-cam.com/video/-pCFvTcqQnQ/v-deo.html Keep in mind that you should not delete the old EA folder in order to copy all of your saves, tray, screenshots & cc and paste those into your newly generated EA folder. The other alternative would be scanning your Mods folder by using this BE mod & deleting your files that show up in your report list (here's a helpful tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/WncYhAAtKcM/v-deo.html) If you haven't tried this already, there's also the 50/50 method that allows you to determine the problematic cc: ua-cam.com/video/kp_fdyXQCfE/v-deo.html You can also try to batch fix your cc using TS4 Studio. Hey do you have a solution for the infants update? Because ever since I had that update, this one save file won’t work anymore When I choose load game it shows my family but with a name of a different family and when I load that save it doesn’t show any of my households But the issue is only with this one save file Edit: I recovered the game and the households are showing now but I can’t load them, it always gives me an error message I did everything you did, I repaired it like 5 times but nothing works :/
@@amourfaithhh if you don't want to delete anything, i advice you to reset the game as shown in the video, i realized that deleting exported household is not effective in long term, it causes different issues, so just reset the game, my game is totally fixed now
My game is fine, EXCEPT for when I go anywhere in the Get Famous pack... which sucks cause my sim is an actor 😅. I followed the steps, the reset was good, everything was recovered, and I deleted what you said, and went back in. Everything was good, but I did the ultimate test: going into the land of the actors...... and it STILL showed the error. I'm not sure if you know what to do about this, cause I've done the reset, I've created a seperate "Save As" file, and it was being weird still. All that aside, I loved your video. Very well made :]
Sweet! reinstalled pretty much all my cc I had downloaded (didn't take that long), but kept getting a error, deleted 1 folder in particular which had a script file, got into the game after I deleted it, thanks!
Hey there!! Did you reset the mods folder? Can we try to reinstall the script mods that we've used? If we did update the game, we're gonna need to download the updates for our mods ^^
10 months late to the party lol, I just followed this but if I had recently updated my mods before following your steps will I have to redownload them?
You won't have to do this unless your game is working fine! If it's not, you can try to remove, redownload & reinstall them. You could additionally reset your Mods folder as well just to make sure everything is all clean and good to go! Do let me know if you need further explanations, I'm here!

Are we sure that we don't have any broken script mods or cc left in the Mods folder (those could also be functional cc aka bunk beds or some other furniture, cas related mods, ui cheats, mccc, things like that)? We can also try to delete the localthumbcache file from the TS4 folder after getting rid of the broken mods so that we delete the game's cache that piled up over time Can we take a look into the Mods, delete what might be broken & install the latest versions for your mods instead?

Update: I reinstalled the game on a new computer and it worked, probably if I have done the same thing on my old computer it would have worked also. I probably missed some steps or something.

I have a problem with my game bills It literally won't let me pay for them. I get the option to click on it and my sim does the "pay the bills" animation but then nothing happens everything stays the same I even moved my mods and the scripts I have to check if that was it and still nothing happens +82$ appears and nothing happens from there Can you help me? :( PS: Does the Tray folder affect anything?

So if we want to have the same mods in the game, we can try to: - write the name of each mod (from the original mods folder) - you can tell what are the mods by searching ts4script inside the mods search bar - on a piece of paper/notes (so we know what mods we used) - google each mod - ONLY download those mods that have been UPDATED I know you want to have all of your mods back, but the thing is, if we continue to put mods that have not been updated, those might still cause issues in the game! That’s why I stand for only installing mods that have been updated, bcs I want you to fully enjoy the game & not have issues in the game anymore Truly hope I made sense 🙏 let me know if there is anything else that I could’ve explain better
Add them back but make sure none of them are outdated or corrupted. maybe download better exceptions, it checks your mods for outdated mods or corrupted files. what i did, i just added mods in sections and started up the game to see if it worked with the mods, if it didnt you'd get a notif which mod is broken. I'd recommend deleting it or maybe updating the mod
idk what to do.. i was in sims, i wanted some other mods so i downloaded them, then i tried going back in, when i got passed the loading screen then to the worlds it said “the game failed to load it is recommended that you relaunch the game” i took the mods out of my folder and it still is not working :( i really need help
We can try to do the following :) Just basically resetting the Mods folder (make sure to turn on mods & cc > close your game > rename your Mods 📂 into Mods old > open the game > exit it straightaway And now we should see a brand new Mods folder into your Sims 4 folder! Here we need to make sure that we ONLY put updated mods & cc, so be sure to download the latest versions, at least for your script mods! Do let me know if this works 🤗
Gotcha!! So you can try to: 1. Free up some space by removing some unuseful things from your Desktop, Downloads folder, sims 4 Screenshots folder or by uninstalling certain apps that you no longer use Or 2. Cut and paste your Sims 4 folder to an external drive (ssd/hdd), to a flash drive or onto another computer Or 3. Backup your folder using a backup app (but make sure that all of your files have been safely saved)
Every methods didnt work for me. i've even reinstalled my sims, used BE mods to track broken mods, the problem (failed to load the game) still there. Is there anyone who have experienced this? and how to fix it? im getting desperate :')

Hey there!! Yesss, I’m more than happy to share some tips that have worked for me! 1. Try to delete the following files from your the sims 4 folder (doing this clears the cache): localthumbcache.package (or localthumbcache), gameversion.txt (or gameversion) 2. If you still have cc & mods in your Mods folder, we can try to do the 50/50 method That means: Divinding your mods files (50-50) Aka 50% (1st half) of your cc & mods files are gonna stay in the mods folder 50% (2nd half) of your cc & mods goes into a separate folder (create a folder on your Desktop/on your other drive if you don’t have enough space & cut & paste that half there) Now we’re going to launch the game with that half of our cc in the mods folder Does it launch? If so, the problematic cc file is in the other half If it still does not launch, then we have some problematic files in our Mods folder If it does not launch, then we’re gonna cut + paste one file at a time from the Mods folder to the folder we’ve created on desktop/other drive & LAUNCH the game to see if that particular file is problematic Keep doing this (putting one mod away & launching game) till we figure out what cc/mod is the problem! We’ll know which one is problematic when we transfer the file & the game launches! So once your game launches, remove that last file & then start putting back your files from that other folder (aka the Desktop/drive folder) ONE by ONE & launching the game to see if there is a problematic file in that batch as well! If the game stops working, then see what file you’ve last copied, that one is problematic and we need to get rid of it! Hope it all makes sense 🙏 and hope you find this helpful!
What does it mean when it only happens when you try to load in a specific world?? it wont let me load into sulani which is a bummer because i JUST got island living
First of all, did you get rid of the outdated mods that you might have in your game (such as MCC, UI cheats, More Columns)? If so, you can then try to rename your Mods folder into Mods old (with your game completely closed) and do NOT delete your Mods old folder as you'll need to copy your files from there > open your game > close it straightaway > a new Mods folder should pop up. Here you need to paste all of your files that you have in your Mods old folder (but make sure you get rid of any outdated script mods that you might have beforehand and install the latest versions for them in the new Mods folder) Then open your game & everything should be good to go Let me know how it goes!!
I deleted all the broken files from mod conflict detector and nothing in there when I scan is broken then also my game is loading very slow because it would take like an hour for my game to load or more than a hour

Can we also try to remove the following files from The Sims 4 folder? These are called localthumbcache, options & gameversion (the first one is a cache file aka a temporary file that will be regenerated after opening the game; deleting the second one will reset your game options - we're doing this to make sure that there is no mod issue in the game as it disables mods and cc; the third one is also a temporary file that will be regenerated after launching the game, pretty similar to a cache file) I truly hope this helps 🙏 if not, we might wanna try repairing the game as well, but make sure you backup (aka copy + paste the entire EA folder somewhere on your computer) the EA folder beforehand :)

It shouldn’t happen this, are we sure that we deleted the one from the sims 4 folder (not a file from our mods folder)? Also, if we take a look into the recycle bin, can we see our cc, right click on them & restore? Hope we can figure this out together!

Hello! Resetting the Mods folder & putting the fresh (re-downloaded) mods could be the way to go! Make sure you download the latest versions for them (if the creators did not release an update for them, they might still be broken, but we can try this to see if it makes a difference)
I’ll write here the steps for resetting the mods folder 1. Enable cc & mods in the game (game options) 2. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old (keep the Mods old folder in your TS4 folder) - do this with your game completely closed 4. Remove these files from The Sims 4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (this way we remove any temporary corrupted mod files, similar to getting rid of cache!) 5. Launch the game & close it rightaway 6. A new Mods folder should appear in TS4 folder (make sure it has the resource.cfg file inside!) 7. Copy all of your cc - clothes and furniture - (but no script mods or functional cc, things like life mods, restaurant mods etc) from your Mods old to the newly generated Mods folder 8. Download the updates for the mods (if there are any! If there are not, we gotta be patient a bit & wait till those updates get released🙏) 9. Place your updated script mods into your newly generated Mods folder
If you did double check that all files are copied (your saves, tray, cc & screenshots - you can check by comparing the number of files in each of those folders - the old ea & new ea), then yes, you can remove it
what if the game slot is still saved in the loaded game but when you try to play it the sims don't appear, they told me to made a new household and there is unocuppied written on the townies house? I really ask for your help please
Hey!! Did you update the game? Also, if we try to check the Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Saves folder, is the save (the number of the save there? We can check if there are any other saves onto the computer by going onto the search bar on the taskbar > type in Saves and see if any other folders show up!
@@Darielle it happened after I updated the game 😓, my sims was super lagging so I deleted some files like localthumb, lastexception, and other junk files to stop the lag. then I downloaded some home cc which used the tray folder, I was able to continue the resumed game but it went like "__" and the sims disappeared, so I deleted all the mods I had and then replaced it with the latest version but it didn't show any improvements to the game still "__" then I tried to restart the game as in this video but when I tried to play the saved slot it looked like an error, I was told to create a new household when I tried to play the saved slot and the townies disappeared even when I pointed the arrow at their house their family profile photo didn't appear

I deleted all mods and it helped and installed new but the one like mc command center dont work and dont show up so did i delete something in my pc that makes mods work
If you wanna put your script mods back, you'll have to redownload the latest version for them, just to make sure that we're no longer encountering game issues
so i tried your way of this and it worked when i removed all my mods. but when i put my mods back then it had the error again. does that mean that I need to delete some of my mods cause maybe something isnt workinig?.
So here’s what we can do about it 🫶🏻 - go into our mods folder - type in the search bar ts4script - write all of our mods down on a piece of paper (so that we can later on know what mods we’ve used & install the updates) - delete all those mods that end with ts4script - search in the search bar each mod (like type in the name of your mods one by one & delete any other files that show up there, some do end with package) - delete any kind of functional cc (things like more columns, ui mods, life mods, toddler mods, restaurant/school mods, anything that adds features in the game) - our clothes & furniture cc don’t usually get broken , so we can keep those - remove the localthumbcache file from the sims 4 folder

Hello 🫶🏻 so here’s the thing We need to link our steam account to the ea app (so that our games & packs show up in the ea app) To do that: - install the ea app - login in via steam (there’s a steam icon when you’re trying to log in, if you’re logged in, then log out & use that steam icon, make sure we know the ea account if we have some other packs there as well before logging out!) - then you’re going to see a window that asks you if you want to link your steam account to the ea app, so click yes

So inside your Electronic Arts folder you can only find files related to your old sims, houses, saves, screenshots, mods and cc and also the options that you've set into your game (such as full screen mode/ windowed full screen, mods & cc enabled, ui aspect, sounds, basically any settings that you've made in your Game Options, after deleting those, your setings will be the default ones, but you can adjust them to your needs once again). So there's no need to worry about game/ actual program files since those are located into a different folder (into your C drive) So if you decide to start fresh and have no mods, no old families, houses or screenshots, you're good go!

We need to update those script mods - so only put updated mods in your new folder - (if there are any updates! What if your not using Origin when playing Sims 4? I'm using Steam. It doesn't have that option for repairing your game. So this part is kind of... well doesn't really apply to me.
I don’t use Mods or CCs and was getting saving error code 0 and I did everything I could, but I still can’t “save” unless I choose to play for a loooong time and the. “Save as” 😢 My saves must be corrupted but I don’t even have half the stuff downloaded and I don’t do mods or CCs. I’m going to be really pissed if my 24+ generation families are gone. Is the next step uninstalling sims 4 and reinstalling or is it unsalvagable because the saves are, for some reason, corrupted?

Could be due to broken/old script mods Deleting the ts4script files after update + google those mods and seeing if there are any updates (so you can have the proper version for the mods) is what worked wonders for me, as well as resetting the backing up the current mods folder + resetting it

Firstly, you can try to delete any adult mods you'd have in your Mods folder. If that doesn't seem to be of help, you can try to take out all of your script mods & install the latest versions for those. Please try to press ctrl shift c at the same time > go to task manager -> if you see the sims 4 app/ea app in that list, click it & then end task. This makes sure that the apps are completely closed
This usually has to do with broken mods & files aka the mods folder, so in any case (ea/origin/steam), resetting the mods folder worked wonders for me 1. Turn on cc & mods 2. Apply changes (if those do not apply, i have a fix for that ua-cam.com/video/ejP49zTg7FM/v-deo.html > close game 3. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old (keep the Mods old folder in your TS4 folder) - do this with your game completely closed 4. Remove these files from The Sims 4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (this way we remove any temporary corrupted mod files, similar to getting rid of cache!) 5. Launch the game & close it rightaway 6. A new Mods folder should appear in TS4 folder (make sure it has the resource.cfg file inside!) 7. Copy all of your cc - clothes and furniture - (but no script mods or functional cc, things like life mods, restaurant mods etc) from your Mods old to the newly generated Mods folder 8. Download the updates for the mods (if there are any! If there are not, we gotta be patient a bit & wait till those updates get released🙏) 9. Place your updated script mods into your newly generated Mods folder

Nothing works :( I reset my electronic arts folder
*FIXED !! - so what I had to do was move my family into a new house, sometimes your house can have buggy objects in it or the whole house is a bug, you can try to spot out which build mode object is causing the problem (but you have to do it after you moved the family out and then go to manage worlds and then build mode or you won’t be able to access the house) but I’m lazy asf so I just moved them into a totally new house and everything is fine. :) hope this helps and thanks for your video !

I did everything that you did but my sims 4 still has an issue, I can open the game but I can’t open any households, and when I hover my mouse over any house it just shows a flickering blue square then when i open “manage households” Its all empty then when I go to an old save file I had it’s all fine? it’s been a while since it’s been like that (after updating)
If that doesn't fix your issue, you can try to reset your EA folder and then place only updated versions for your mods, as shown in here: ua-cam.com/video/-pCFvTcqQnQ/v-deo.html
Keep in mind that you should not delete the old EA folder in order to copy all of your saves, tray, screenshots & cc and paste those into your newly generated EA folder.

Yes, but only if they are updated mods, so most mods need to be re-downloaded (make sure you check the release date for them)

My game is fine, EXCEPT for when I go anywhere in the Get Famous pack... which sucks cause my sim is an actor 😅. I followed the steps, the reset was good, everything was recovered, and I deleted what you said, and went back in. Everything was good, but I did the ultimate test: going into the land of the actors...... and it STILL showed the error.
I'm not sure if you know what to do about this, cause I've done the reset, I've created a seperate "Save As" file, and it was being weird still.

If we did update the game, we're gonna need to download the updates for our mods ^^
10 months late to the party lol, I just followed this but if I had recently updated my mods before following your steps will I have to redownload them?
You won't have to do this unless your game is working fine! If it's not, you can try to remove, redownload & reinstall them. You could additionally reset your Mods folder as well just to make sure everything is all clean and good to go! Do let me know if you need further explanations, I'm here!

Hey there!! Are we sure that we don't have any broken script mods or cc left in the Mods folder (those could also be functional cc aka bunk beds or some other furniture, cas related mods, ui cheats, mccc, things like that)?
We can also try to delete the localthumbcache file from the TS4 folder after getting rid of the broken mods so that we delete the game's cache that piled up over time
Can we take a look into the Mods, delete what might be broken & install the latest versions for your mods instead?

Update: I reinstalled the game on a new computer and it worked, probably if I have done the same thing on my old computer it would have worked also. I probably missed some steps or something.

So if we want to have the same mods in the game, we can try to:
- write the name of each mod (from the original mods folder) - you can tell what are the mods by searching ts4script inside the mods search bar - on a piece of paper/notes (so we know what mods we used)
- google each mod
- ONLY download those mods that have been UPDATED
I know you want to have all of your mods back, but the thing is, if we continue to put mods that have not been updated, those might still cause issues in the game!
That’s why I stand for only installing mods that have been updated, bcs I want you to fully enjoy the game & not have issues in the game anymore

Add them back but make sure none of them are outdated or corrupted. maybe download better exceptions, it checks your mods for outdated mods or corrupted files. what i did, i just added mods in sections and started up the game to see if it worked with the mods, if it didnt you'd get a notif which mod is broken. I'd recommend deleting it or maybe updating the mod
idk what to do.. i was in sims, i wanted some other mods so i downloaded them, then i tried going back in, when i got passed the loading screen then to the worlds it said “the game failed to load it is recommended that you relaunch the game” i took the mods out of my folder and it still is not working :( i really need help
We can try to do the following :)
Just basically resetting the Mods folder (make sure to turn on mods & cc > close your game > rename your Mods 📂 into Mods old > open the game > exit it straightaway
And now we should see a brand new Mods folder into your Sims 4 folder!
Here we need to make sure that we ONLY put updated mods & cc, so be sure to download the latest versions, at least for your script mods!

Gotcha!! So you can try to:
1. Free up some space by removing some unuseful things from your Desktop, Downloads folder, sims 4 Screenshots folder or by uninstalling certain apps that you no longer use
Or
2. Cut and paste your Sims 4 folder to an external drive (ssd/hdd), to a flash drive or onto another computer
Or
3. Backup your folder using a backup app (but make sure that all of your files have been safely saved)

Hey there!!
Yesss, I’m more than happy to share some tips that have worked for me!
1. Try to delete the following files from your the sims 4 folder (doing this clears the cache): localthumbcache.package (or localthumbcache), gameversion.txt (or gameversion)
2. If you still have cc & mods in your Mods folder, we can try to do the 50/50 method
That means:
Divinding your mods files (50-50)
Aka
50% (1st half) of your cc & mods files are gonna stay in the mods folder
50% (2nd half) of your cc & mods goes into a separate folder (create a folder on your Desktop/on your other drive if you don’t have enough space & cut & paste that half there)
Now we’re going to launch the game with that half of our cc in the mods folder
Does it launch?
If so, the problematic cc file is in the other half
If it still does not launch, then we have some problematic files in our Mods folder
If it does not launch, then we’re gonna cut + paste one file at a time from the Mods folder to the folder we’ve created on desktop/other drive & LAUNCH the game to see if that particular file is problematic
Keep doing this (putting one mod away & launching game) till we figure out what cc/mod is the problem!
We’ll know which one is problematic when we transfer the file & the game launches!
So once your game launches, remove that last file & then start putting back your files from that other folder (aka the Desktop/drive folder) ONE by ONE & launching the game to see if there is a problematic file in that batch as well!
If the game stops working, then see what file you’ve last copied, that one is problematic and we need to get rid of it!

First of all, did you get rid of the outdated mods that you might have in your game (such as MCC, UI cheats, More Columns)?
If so, you can then try to rename your Mods folder into Mods old (with your game completely closed) and do NOT delete your Mods old folder as you'll need to copy your files from there > open your game > close it straightaway > a new Mods folder should pop up. Here you need to paste all of your files that you have in your Mods old folder (but make sure you get rid of any outdated script mods that you might have beforehand and install the latest versions for them in the new Mods folder)
Then open your game & everything should be good to go

I deleted all the broken files from mod conflict detector and nothing in there when I scan is broken then also my game is loading very slow because it would take like an hour for my game to load or more than a hour
And no I didn’t delete the Mcc including UI cheats and more columns because when I scanned my mods folder they are not the ones that’s broken

It's always best to remove all of your script mods & install the latest versions whenever an update comes out.

I will try that the thing is I don't have any cc or use any cheats the only cheat I use is 'make Sims happy and disable needs decay' I don't use cc or mods so it's strange I'm getting this error. Mods folder is empty.
Can we also try to remove the following files from The Sims 4 folder? These are called localthumbcache, options & gameversion (the first one is a cache file aka a temporary file that will be regenerated after opening the game; deleting the second one will reset your game options - we're doing this to make sure that there is no mod issue in the game as it disables mods and cc; the third one is also a temporary file that will be regenerated after launching the game, pretty similar to a cache file)
I truly hope this helps 🙏 if not, we might wanna try repairing the game as well, but make sure you backup (aka copy + paste the entire EA folder somewhere on your computer) the EA folder beforehand :)

Hello! Resetting the Mods folder & putting the fresh (re-downloaded) mods could be the way to go! Make sure you download the latest versions for them (if the creators did not release an update for them, they might still be broken, but we can try this to see if it makes a difference)
I’ll write here the steps for resetting the mods folder

7. Copy all of your cc - clothes and furniture - (but no script mods or functional cc, things like life mods, restaurant mods etc) from your Mods old to the newly generated Mods folder
8. Download the updates for the mods (if there are any! If there are not, we gotta be patient a bit & wait till those updates get released🙏)
9. Place your updated script mods into your newly generated Mods folder

If you did double check that all files are copied (your saves, tray, cc & screenshots - you can check by comparing the number of files in each of those folders - the old ea & new ea), then yes, you can remove it

Also, if we try to check the Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Saves folder, is the save (the number of the save there?
We can check if there are any other saves onto the computer by going onto the search bar on the taskbar > type in Saves and see if any other folders show up!
@@Darielle it happened after I updated the game 😓, my sims was super lagging so I deleted some files like localthumb, lastexception, and other junk files to stop the lag. then I downloaded some home cc which used the tray folder, I was able to continue the resumed game but it went like "__" and the sims disappeared, so I deleted all the mods I had and then replaced it with the latest version but it didn't show any improvements to the game still "__" then I tried to restart the game as in this video but when I tried to play the saved slot it looked like an error, I was told to create a new household when I tried to play the saved slot and the townies disappeared even when I pointed the arrow at their house their family profile photo didn't appear

That’s the one that includes all of your sims (so not your progress and saves, but the sims characters and the houses/lots)
Wouldn't deleting the script files cause the mods to stop working? And deleting the PKG files will just completely get rid of the mods all together

so i tried your way of this and it worked when i removed all my mods. but when i put my mods back then it had the error again. does that mean that I need to delete some of my mods cause maybe something isnt workinig?.
So here’s what we can do about it 🫶🏻
- go into our mods folder
- type in the search bar ts4script
- write all of our mods down on a piece of paper (so that we can later on know what mods we’ve used & install the updates)
- delete all those mods that end with ts4script
- search in the search bar each mod (like type in the name of your mods one by one & delete any other files that show up there, some do end with package)
- delete any kind of functional cc (things like more columns, ui mods, life mods, toddler mods, restaurant/school mods, anything that adds features in the game)
- our clothes & furniture cc don’t usually get broken , so we can keep those
- remove the localthumbcache file from the sims 4 folder

Hello 🫶🏻 so here’s the thing
We need to link our steam account to the ea app (so that our games & packs show up in the ea app)
To do that:
- install the ea app
- login in via steam (there’s a steam icon when you’re trying to log in, if you’re logged in, then log out & use that steam icon, make sure we know the ea account if we have some other packs there as well before logging out!)
- then you’re going to see a window that asks you if you want to link your steam account to the ea app, so click yes

Hey there! If you did copy and paste all of your files from there (namely, your tray, saves, your cc snd screenshots) to the new EA folder, then yes, you can delete it

So inside your Electronic Arts folder you can only find files related to your old sims, houses, saves, screenshots, mods and cc and also the options that you've set into your game (such as full screen mode/ windowed full screen, mods & cc enabled, ui aspect, sounds, basically any settings that you've made in your Game Options, after deleting those, your setings will be the default ones, but you can adjust them to your needs once again).
So there's no need to worry about game/ actual program files since those are located into a different folder (into your C drive)
So if you decide to start fresh and have no mods, no old families, houses or screenshots, you're good go!
I dont know what origin is, I went on EA and I left clicked and nothing came up, no repair. What do I do HELPP!!

What if you bought sims 4 on steam and not orgin? How do you repair ts4 on steam?

But don't put any script mods (aka mods that add gameplay features, certain functionalities) in the new folder!!
We need to update those script mods - so only put updated mods in your new folder - (if there are any updates! If not, we just gotta wait until the creator releases an update for that)

What if your not using Origin when playing Sims 4? I'm using Steam. It doesn't have that option for repairing your game. So this part is kind of... well doesn't really apply to me.
So since I save my original game can I delete the old EA file?
I don’t use Mods or CCs and was getting saving error code 0 and I did everything I could, but I still can’t “save” unless I choose to play for a loooong time and the. “Save as” 😢 My saves must be corrupted but I don’t even have half the stuff downloaded and I don’t do mods or CCs. I’m going to be really pissed if my 24+ generation families are gone.
Is the next step uninstalling sims 4 and reinstalling or is it unsalvagable because the saves are, for some reason, corrupted?

Hey there! We can try to switch the game to the normal version if your computer can run it ^^
Just open your EA/Origin app, right click on TS4 > Game Properties / view properties > Advanced > switch to the The Sims 4 64bit version

Hey there, we can surely work it out! How about we try to reset the Mods folder this way?
Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you have mods&cc enabled in your game > close your game
2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (but keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on)
3. Open your game & close it straightaway
4. A new Mods folder should pop up
5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder
6. Download the latest versions for your script mods
7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder

Closing the game
Relaunching it & exiting it straightaway
A new Mods folder will pop up
Here we can install the latest updates for our mods & copy CC only (so no mods) from our Mods old folder 🙏

Yes, but it depends what kind of package files we had
Did we have package files that were mods (like adult, toddlers, school, restaurant, life mods aka things that add features)
Or did we only have cc package files (like clothes, build items, makeup etc)

Do we still have those in our bin? We can try to look them up & see if there are updates for them
If there are no updates for those cc that add features, then I think it’s be better for us to wait for updates, bcs those might break our game if they are not up to date

Deleting the ts4script files after update + google those mods and seeing if there are any updates (so you can have the proper version for the mods) is what worked wonders for me, as well as resetting the backing up the current mods folder + resetting it

Firstly, you can try to delete any adult mods you'd have in your Mods folder. If that doesn't seem to be of help, you can try to take out all of your script mods & install the latest versions for those.
The other alternative would be scanning your Mods folder by using this BE mod & deleting your files that show up in your report list (here's a helpful tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/WncYhAAtKcM/v-deo.html)
Last but not least, if you haven't tried this already, there's also the 50/50 method that allows you to determine the problematic cc: ua-cam.com/video/kp_fdyXQCfE/v-deo.html

I cant rename the folder bc it says its still in use despite me closing the ea app
Please try to press ctrl shift c at the same time > go to task manager -> if you see the sims 4 app/ea app in that list, click it & then end task. This makes sure that the apps are completely closed
