I love how people like to say that Christopher Columbus made a "disney" version of Rent when this sequence exists. It's brutal raw and doesn't flinch at the scary and hard parts of AIDs and drug addiction.
I have my problems with chris Columbus adaptation of the musical but man this is one of the scenes that hitted hard and really captured such a brutal moment in time.
I’m 22 yrs old now, I saw this movie when I was 5 yrs old. I didn’t understand this scene when I was a kid, but I do now. Just through these scenes alone, especially the last part, I understand perfectly and it’s never hit harder for me.

I’m literally fine with this whole musical EXCEPT this part where we see Angel suffering. I break down in tears.
