It's just not possible to explain just how huge this song was in that summer of '60. I was 13 y/o, heading to 14 . In Denver, on KTLN, 1250 AM , it was in the top 10, the entire summer . -----------it was just a perfect sing-along song. -------------------------WolfSky9, 74 y/o
I was 9 that Summer of 1960, and you’re right, it was popular all Summer long.
have just read that Cathy was a former girl friend of one of the Brothers. always loved the Buddy Harmon drums on this song
23/8/2021. Sad news " Don Everly of the Everly Brothers dies at 84, seven years after younger brother Phil. Thanks for the music, Don, and Phil. I Hope you are in a much better place.

This was my dad's favourite song. When he was in hospital, very very sick we played it for him. He was near his last breath but his foot started beating to the song. As soon as the song finished he was gone too. We played it at his funeral. I like to think he is in heaven still dancing to it.
When i was little, my father would play this song on the radio for me, and I honestly love this song.
(I was born in 2003)
