There are various beliefs and practices surrounding the Aghoris. Some claim to possess black magic powers, while others are rumoured to consume human flesh, considering it as a divine offering to Lord Shiva, whom they consider their beloved deity. Such individuals claim to have "Saath Khoon Maaf," a term signifying Lord Shiva's forgiveness for their actions.
Yet, it is important to note that not all who claim to be Aghoris truly follow the path. Many among them are wanted criminals, seeking refuge while living incognito from authorities across different regions of the country.
For those who genuinely seek the path of Aghor, the journey is not easy. To become an authentic Aghori, one must undergo a rigorous 14-year process under the guidance of a Guru. This period of training involves learning the secrets and techniques that define a successful Aghori. During the initial years, they are tasked with finding a human skull from cremation grounds, crafting it into a bowl, and using it for daily meals. Additionally, they cover their bodies with ashes, both to keep warm and to resemble Lord Shiva, whom they deeply revere.
The practice of consuming the flesh of the deceased is considered sacred by Aghoris, as they perceive it as a divine "Prasad" from Lord Shiva. While some find this practice taboo, others view it as a blessing if their departed loved ones' remains are consumed by an Aghori, considering it an offering to their chosen deity.

LOVE Varanasi!!!! Blessings Chris....I was there in April and it never dissapoints! Please visit Gurdwaras while there. They are Sikh Temples. Always can get food to eat there for free you do not have to be a Sikh.

You should visit Ladakh and Spiti Valley in India to experience the mystical side of Buddhism, especially at Key Monastery and Phugtal Monastery. These places offer a unique perspective on India and its religions, with a different way of life and beautiful surroundings.

4:38 Shiva is the creator of meditation and spirituality. ultimate test of a spiritual meditative person is king Cobra test. if seeing cobra any person shows some kind of nervousness then Cobra will attack that person but if he or she remains absolutely calm then Cobra will do nothing. Shiva is always shown with cobra in his neck to show that he is the ultimate meditative spiritual being.
