The soundtrack composers really know what they’re doing in these games. The Talus theme sells that feeling of fighting a giant rock, the Hinox theme is kinda goofy while also serving as a battle theme, and the final Ganon theme sells the feeling of fighting the purest embodiment of evil.

So I went to Gordon city and saw that the path was filled with monsters so I packed up a ton of fireproof elixir and just climbed through all of the mountains instead of dealing with fire jelly, flame rocks, and spider death robots from hell.
When I got to death mountain the first time, I didn't have any fireproof potions on me. Now, a reasonable person would of just went and gathered the necessary materials for the potion. I'm not a reasonable person. Instead, I decided I would tough it out, and ran my way to goron city, going through my food supplies just to keep myself alive. I was almost completely out of foodstuffs by the time I got there. Imagine my surprise when I found that I couldn't afford the fireproof armor. I had to go sell a lot of my minerals, and, with only about five hearts left, managed to survive intact.
I literally cannot describe how much I love the begging with the rock sounds. It just sounds very epic. And not just the rock sounds, the beginning just sounds so good- I can’t describe it 🫢
Found a Talus in the starting area, near the swamp, only had 10 arrows, boku weapons, and the only "powerful" weapon was the iron hammer. Got it to half health, then got rinsed by its faceplant.

I love the Rock clinking sounds, and even the piano sounds like a somewhat calm flow of rocks moving fluently, the more gentle side of rocks. Then that beat at 45 or so seconds hits in!
The horns and woodwinds combine really nicely to kind of give an epic but really bright daylight feel. Especially fitting because you can find Talus right outside of the Plateau.

Honest to god, besides the Totk colgera theme, this is one of my personal favourites. I love the piano parts in this theme as it gives that feeling of awe before you’re reminded of the goofy idea of fighting a rock.
I remember first time I heard this theme. I was chilling, walking through a forest, when suddenly I heard it. And I was like “why do I hear boss music” and I turn around to see a giant fucking rock chasing me, which I had no idea existed. Needless to say, I booked it like hell.
Here is an easy way to find a stone talus: If you have upgraded stasis, use it in an area of suspicion. if there is a talus, it will show up in yellow. I usually use stasis to find hidden enemies.

I love all the soundtrack of this game, but this one stands out the most. Clearly composed on a higher level.
Here is an easy way to find a stone talus: If you have upgraded stasis, use it in an area of suspicion. if there is a talus, it will show up in yellow. I usually use stasis to find hidden enemies.
