The candles at the end made me cackle!! Mindy, your blanket count is the most relatable thing ever. There are two people and two dogs in my home and I washed about 10 throw blankets this week. I don't even know why we have this many throw blankets!
What's really funny is that I'm always still looking for one because my kids take them upstairs and then there aren't any down here for ME! LOL!
It’s just me, my husband, and a 14 year old daughter. Blankets everywhere. I live in Alaska and it’s been bitterly cold for the past few weeks so those throws have been so necessary.
Our dog ends up with most of the blankets. LOL

Our church hired an executive pastor years ago. We now have our second one, the first decided it was time for a new job. It was a great decision for the church. It let the Pastors do what they did best and left the business side of the church to the executive pastor.

Yep! That's the idea of having an executive pastor. It helps to have a pastor in that role because they can navigate the business, but through the lens of a pastor, which can be a little different from the business world.

My husband lost his job on Wednesday, so we are navigating through that. We can't afford to be down a whole income, but we are holding on. Any and all things done in darkness will come to light.

I am so excited for this new ministry for your husband. I know he is going to be able to be a blessing and help to many churches and pastors. My husband started a new ministry venture three months ago at the age of sixty seven. He is now the congregational care pastor at our church in Indiana. We went through a 2 year waiting process to leave one ministry and go where God could use us. The waiting is hard but God is good. So thankful that God brought you through the waiting. Sometimes it feels like you're wandering in the desert like the israelites. 😊 Perhaps sometime you can share some of the lessons God taught you while you were waiting and wandering.
Trust is a common theme God keeps bringing up in my life...my need to trust Him and His timing. He is, indeed, "in the waiting", and I try to remember God does some of His best work when we're in the wilderness!
@@SeeMindyMom yes that is one of the biggest things I'm working on is trusting him more. It's hard to trust and I just have to keep reminding myself that it will work out as it's meant to be. His timing is everything. Do you have favorite scriptures that you read on a daily or even on a weekly basis that you keep going back to?
I admire your willingness to share what is going on and giving all the glory to God for the seasons that you are in and go through. We too, are facing a new season and we are trusting in Him, praying and resting in knowing that He is sovereign over all things and He will carry us through and place us where He wants us to be. Doesn't mean that this season is not without challenges or work, we cling to Romans 8:28, amongst others as well. Will continue to pray for your family as you all navigate this new season of life. ♥
He does some of His best work in the wilderness, I keep reminding myself. Best to you and yours!

That’s fantastic. I grew up in a small Lutheran church and so I understand what you’re talking about. We would always contact other professionals to help us with the type of issues that your husband is doing. What a blessing. I know it to well, being a pastor’s kid myself. No one will ever know what it’s like to be the pastor’s family. I loved the ministry even though it was so hard. God saw us through all the way until my dad passed away. Now as a member of church I always pray for my pastors and help the, as much as I can

I appreciate you letting us in on this journey you have been through, so many people are so private about their relationship with God because they don’t want to offend anyone. This video give me some hope and reminds me to keep praying and trusting God as me and my husband are still in a very long waiting season. But God is good! And his will and plans will always be done. It's hard when people hurt you, it's not hard to forgive, but to put yourself and your family back in the middle of new vulnerable state. My husband quit pastoring and went back to his secular career. Ministry is tricky for sure.

Our situation has been going on for almost a year, with undesirable changes at our church causing half the staff and congregation to leave. We keep asking God to direct us to where he can best use us, and we trust that he will. However, it’s so hard to leave our church family after 30+ years, almost 20 of those on staff. Jesus said that we would have trouble on this earth, but he will be with us and he wants what is good for us. Thanks for sharing your good news. It’s encouraging and inspiring.

My husband and I planted a church a year and a half ago, we could use your husband’s services, it’s tough and expensive to plant from the ground up.
