In my 20's I was a sole parent and unemployed. A friend was working for a family, taking care of the children after school. She also had to make tea and do some light house work, including ironing. One day (With the employees permission) I went to work with her, I offered to do the ironing, as I knew she didn't like that task. The employee asked if I would be interested in doing the ironing permenately. I agreed and asked for$25 for a small basket and $50 for a large basket. Before long other people they knew offered me more ironing and I was making $300 a week doing a task I love.
I am retired and sit with a neighbor with dementia five hours 3 times per week. I get $80-day. She’s independent in grooming and eating so we get in the car and run errands or shopping. It works well for everyone!
@@Nicole-zv7ee she is a neighbor and member of my church but I have done this intermittently before. Once you get established then it’s word of mouth. Ask around to see if anyone you know might have an elder who might need some help or to give the spouse a break. Wouldn’t hurt to ask at local senior center or clergy at church.
My mother sounds like your neighbor. We hired an agency that provided light cleaning and an excursion out here and there. The staff was okay but it's tough finding people that work well with this population. The manager had to fill in one day and she was great. Knowing the client a little, such as you do, is an ideal situation.
@@lindanorton745 I think the key to success with this population is consistency. While this sweet lady doesn’t remember much about me, she knows I’m a neighbor and a friend. She does get fearful in certain new situations but she trusts me, so we make it fun.
A kid in my neighborhood started mowing lawns for pocket money a couple of years ago. His Dad started helping him once he got a handful of clients. Eventually, they had a lot of loyal customers, they've been able to purchase extra equipment & the Dad is considering doing it full time with his son. They also do snow removal, leaf collections, yard cleaning. Nice how a little side hustle turned into a growing business for them.
My husband was out of work for almost 4 months. I sold baked goods and did a relative's laundry, he did odd jobs with our neighbor who's a contractor. My Dad used to say, do the things no one else is willing to do and you'll make money.
@@SodbusterLiving Cottage kitchen laws in Michigan don't require a license. Plus I sold through word of mouth and most of those ppl know my background in an industrial bakery. Sweeping floors and hauling wood don't require licenses either.
When my daughter was 9 months I was working 3 days a week. While at the babysitter she started walking. It broke my heart that I missed it. While sharing my woes with a friend, she suggested I quit my secretary job and clean her house and bring my daughter to clean her house. This not paying sitter. I made more cleaning. I ended up cleaning until my daughter was a senior in high school. I put my children through Christian school. Funded their wardrobes. Paid for my car. Vacations. I made great money. Worked my rump off but I would never change what I did. My kids always went with me. It was so flexible. I could always be involved with their schools.
Hey Christine, have you heard of Papa Pal? My husband and I are US missionaries and have lost a lot of support in the past year, so I had to come up with a side gig to help offset that. Papa Pal is amazing!! It is where you can pick jobs on an app to offer the elderly companionship and help them with different things, like take them to appointments, grocery shopping, do light cleaning at their house, play games with them, read to them, etc. I feel like it is another ministry and so it is not just a side gig for ne anymore, and is very fulfilling.
Just be aware, I did Papa pals in my area and all of the available clients were at least 2 hrs away-that’s 4 hrs round trip. And then when I got there they didn’t want me to stay the whole time I was scheduled for. Not worth it 😕
I have been praying and praying for a job where it can be flexible and fulfilling. When I read your comment about PAPA Pal, it felt right. I will pray about it.
Before diving in, consider the unpredictability and possible challenges. Thinking about having an advisor on hand might seem extra, but trust me, it's like having a financial superhero who helps you invest smarter.
Totally get that. Quick cash sounds great, but the rollercoaster of gig work can be stressful. Here's the thing: having a financial advisor isn't just for big earners. They're like money wizards who guide you on making your hard-earned dollars work better for you, especially when you're thinking about stepping into the investing game.
Side jobs offer immediate relief, but the unpredictability can create financial stress. Investing, even with a tight budget, can provide more stable returns over time. A financial advisor can help you strike the right balance between earning quick cash and building a sustainable investment portfolio.
Your shift to investing sounds promising. How did Carl Jason Cohen guide you in transitioning from side jobs to investing, especially with a tight budget?
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm currently in a tight budget situation, considering side jobs. The idea of transitioning to investing with Carl Jason Cohen's guidance seems like a more sustainable approach. I'll reach out to him for advice on navigating both short-term gigs and investing.
Just a reminder for these side-jobs - don’t forget about TAXES! I made 3k last year in dogsitting, but it cost me $600 in self-employment tax when I just filed my federal tax return. When selling crafts or goods, don’t forget you’ll likely need to charge (and therefore file returns and pay) sales tax on your sold items. Does that require setting up a business? Would you need an EIN, or could you file your returns under your personal SSN? Things to think about and remember. ❤
@@peggypeters6676they have many ways of finding out then you are big in trouble. Pay taxes and be a legitimate business. If you’re doing something and not claiming it, make sure you only ever accept cash and don’t advertise the business
Check with your local Department of Revenue (DOR) for classes on small business taxes. They will really help with getting a business license, taxes, rules. I found it very helpful.
If your personality doesn't lend itself well to substitute teaching, if you can lift 30-50 pounds you can be a school cafeteria person. I retired from residential care for teenagers 3 years ago, and got bored. Now I'm a lunch cashier working just 2.5 hours/day and making under $16./hrs, but it gets me out of the house and I love the interaction with the kids. It's the perfect mini job for me and my stage of life. Woot!
I started Rover as a part time job last year but it is now my full time job in Austin Texas I love pet sitting. I do want to add a note that not everyone can be a pet sitter Please do not sign up unless you love dogs and/or cats AND you will do anything for their safety These are peoples FAMILY Great video as always💚
So true. I love my Dog beyond believe I love my dog I like dogs in general, but I am not a dog sitter. There are some people that I will trade with that our dogs get along with wonderfully, so I will sit with him, but no others. I tried helping a friend out, watching her dog when they were having an emergency it was pure hell . Her dog and my dog didn’t get along so I had to do everything and from that point I won’t watch other peoples dogs.
I own a residential cleaning company with one employee. I charge $50/hr and the cost of doing business does not always seem worth it. I think as a cash side hustle it could be profitable, but most people don't realize how physical it is to do for 8 hours a day. It's exhausting and there is more to it than just wiping things down... knowing chemicals and materials, attention to detail, stamina, and sales. It's so fun, and I don't regret it one bit, but it's hard work!
As.a dog groomer, this is a nice idea, but you really must go to school to learn. Each breed has breed specific cuts. Ive had to fix haircuts done by people who dont know what theyre doing. Get liability insurance too. Dogs move and accidents can happen. Hope this helps. 🙂
Yea! I worked at a shop bathing dogs and it’s really not an easy thing. Either do it yourself of pay a pro to do it for you. It’s not worth the risk for the dog or you
Yes dog groomer and photographer !! Dog groomer for 18 years. I highly suggest not grooming other people dogs if you do not know what you’re doing. Also photographer now full time. Suggest knowing how to use your camera easier said than done. How to export your images the right way. There are certain ways to pose people, know your lighting oh boy there’s soo much more 😂
My daughter is paying me to nanny her kids 4 mornings and one night a week. A friend is paying me for to help her declutter her storage unit. She picks me up, we work, drop off at donation center, and she drops me off at home. It’s two hours start to finish, once a week. I would do it for free, but she said paying keeps her motivated. Being paid for nannying and decluttering keeps me from feeling resentful, and I’m bringing in extra money.
Some great ideas. Just one little thing I caution against. Please don’t make it out that pet sitting is just “playing with puppies.” Working with dogs can go horribly wrong if you don’t understand the different breeds, how to read dog body language, how to handle reactivity issues and other aspects of caring for our canine friends. There are so many stories out there of people who think it’s so simple and dogs end up lost, injured or in the worst cases dead. If anyone is interested in becoming a dog sitter, please educate yourself first, learn about dog training from reputable trainers, and seriously think about what sort of dogs you can handle. Maybe start with just your friends’ pets before you put yourself out there for strangers.
Great advice! 😊❤ only walk them with a collar and leash AND a harness and leash. They can slip out of one and be gone , having the other also is added insurance to keep the dog safe.
There is a girl in Dallas, that was mauled a few years ago, and had her entire face ripped off, by 2 dogs that she was petsitting. That is why I will never work as a petsitter. If you google her, you can read her story. Its really sad. She is disfigured for life.
She did the same thing when she was talking about substituting. She said it wasn’t that hard. There’sa tremendous amount of responsibility. She obviously has never subbed lol
@@bkwats1017not to mention, in some areas the kids/teens are horrendous... ask that lady who was severely beaten by a 17 yr old. No, subbing probably isn't something I'd pick!!
I couldn't even get through one day substituting - I was only there during "a teacher's meeting"!!!! I love kids. Well behaved kids. Apparently they are a rare commodity.
And PLEASE do not do this if you’re not going to “DO the job”. I’ve had subs sleep in my room and things got broken by mischievous students. (I was on campus but out of the class for the day to lead another group of students. I stopped by to see if they needed anything and found the sub sound asleep.)
I’m totally amazed at how many people can’t sew on a button or hem a garment. Pretty sure someone could make some extra cash doing those minor alterations.
I live in South Louisiana and it is currently Mardi Gras season. If you can bake and want to dedicate a short but busy time of your life to making king cakes, you can make a small fortune! A woman in my neighborhood posted ONE TIME on our community facebook page that she was taking orders for king cakes and was inundated with orders. People even paid large bribes to jump the line, I am so serious. Now, she is sweaty & tired & ready for all of this insanity to be over, but she has also racked up THOUSANDS of dollars in just 2 months. She is looking forward to her vacation at the very fancy all-inclusive resort the cake money is paying for this year! 🤩 👜 I remember your mom's hot bag stashed in the pantry! I died laughing! (Also because it reminded me of shopping with my Mother-in-law when she wanted to get something "cool" for the grandkids so she asked me how to find the Avocado & Fish store 🤣)
These are some great recommendations. As a retired teacher I would caution suggesting subbing unless you have spent time at school or have some kind of experience teaching kids. Subbing is Hard and not and easy job to just walk into. . Classroom management is harder for a sub than for a regular teacher. If considering subbing, I would suggestion doing a bunch of volunteering in the schools you might work in. This gets you used to the kids and visa versa,
In my area car detailing is a decent side hustle. I bought a used car recently from someone who had small children that tossed all sorts of substances in the backseat so i hired a woman who does car detailing. She came to my house and cleaned the interior of my car in my driveway. She charged based on the size of vehicle and level of detail you want done. She was done in about 2 hours and it cost me about $250
One that has the potential to bring in a serious chunk of change if you have the facilities: My grandmother passed away a couple years ago and my aunt and uncle converted her 'mother-in-law quarters' into a vacation/b&b rental. It is a separate unit connected by the driveway and right off a major highway very close to a popular southern city. It stays booked almost constantly. My aunt and uncle are retired so this is their income. They are seriously religious about keeping it super clean, cute and well stocked with everything you would need for a few days away from home and can charge accordingly.
In the warm season, watering and caring for gardens for vacationing homeowners or mowing lawns, and window washing are good side jobs along with house sitting.
If you're a quilter like me, and you have a longarm, you can take in quilts to finish them for other people. They provide all the fabric and batting (pieced top/batting/backing) and you stitch it up with pretty designs on your longarm. Most longarmers charge .10 cents per square inch so with even a lap quilt that's 47" x 56", plus thread charge, can make you about $300 per quilt. And if you can do two a day, that's dang good money in the air conditioning. Most longarmers are booked solid for months ahead. Before I was a quilter, I had good side hustle doing alterations. Have a multi-needle embroidery machine? You'll always have work from school sports teams, scouts, clubs, bowling leagues, etc. for t-shirts, hats, and bags.
I am a wreath maker and personalized gifts. As it slows between seasons, I make gift baskets (V Day, Easter etc) to supplement. I am a nurse but started this when I took time off to be a SAHM. I have grown it to now be steady source of income...but that took years to get established and a following. Since young, I have mowed lawns, babysat, delivered newspapers, and other side hustles. Think outside of the box and it can be done! Elder care, running errands/appointments, laundry, before and after school care, homework helper, I even saw gift wrapping for the holidays that had many people interested in purchasing that service!
Just an idea but I LOVE to cook and am aware that many people don’t or don’t know how to or can’t or whatever else, so if I needed an extra income, I would offer my services as a home chef one or two days per week. You can meal prep for the whole week. I am sure many people would be happy to pay to get the cooking out of their way.
I'm not a Dr., but I can recommend to help your finger. Put band aid around the sore finger, kinda tight. Then tape the index to the middle finger. It's called "piggy back" and it supports the index finger from flopping around, independent! It will work, and it will feel better. If the cut is healed, take some lotion and massage the sore. It will hurt at first, you'll get deeper as you get better. This should get some of your feeling back.
I do surveys online. The hours i spend doing them every month is totally up to me, and the amounts for each varies, but it adds up and i routinely get about $200 a month with opportunities for home testings of various things. It's not going to make me rich, but i won't go hungry, either.
What sites do you use? I have never personally seen one that wasn't more of a scam than actually doing what they said. I believe you. I just distrust those companies in general.
Two I want to mention: 1. For crafty folks: library art classes. Reach out to your local library and see if they offer art classes. If they do, pitch them an idea and see how it goes. I teach acrylic painting at my library, and make $150 per class. It's definitely not a weekly thing (I get to do about 6 per year), but it adds up and it's really fun! 2. Mock juries- my area posts ads to craigslist, they pay $75 for a 2 hour zoom meeting. You only get to do it every 6 months (company policy) but it's fun and easy.
I am a registered nurse. I became certified to teach CPR and ACLS. It was an investment to get started but is a great way to make extra money and flexible hours.
@@rnupnorthbrrrsm6123 I was able to recoup my initial investment within 6 months and everything since has been profit. AHA updates guidelines/videos/manuals every 5 years. So a good time to start is right after the update so materials are good for 5 years.
Not only do schools need teaching subs, they need cook, aide, secretary, janitor subs also…in our school district they pay anywhere from $12-$15 an hour and you can decide which days you want to work
If you have a van or truck, I've seen people make good money doing hauling jobs. Se even go around neighborhoods on trash day and pick up unwanted furniture or metal appliances for scrap or to refurbish and sell.
Yes to house cleaning! Especially if someone wants a deep clean. If you know what you’re doing it’s good money! I also walk the neighbor’s dogs once a day during the week. Cottage laws are amazing in my state too so if you can bake, market yourself! It’s crazy what you can earn from batch baking! In my area I’m known as the sweet potato biscuit lady 😅 just know your bandwidth when it comes to this!
My sister has a successful side hustle as a pet nanny and housesitter. She's even got several ladies working for her now. Me - I occasionally sit with a friend's elderly mum when friend works and mum is unwell. If you're into Jane Austen, the Bronte Sisters, or Louisa May Alcott then I'm sort of a modern day ladies companion
We rented a Tesla from Turo and it was really nice. We picked it up from the guys house and had it for a week and took it back to the house. All they require is scanning your license and when you return the car you take pictures to make sure you didn't mess it up
I didn’t think about doing smaller wooden wall decor. I refinish furniture, which is fun, but since I can only sell locally because shipping would be ridiculous, I find I can’t always get what a piece is worth, or if I can I’ve had to sit on the piece for a while which fills up my basement pretty quickly. I have the tools to do something like your friend and I can wrap my head around shipping that size item. I really didn’t expect you to come up with an idea that would work for me. Thanks!
.When I lived in Star Valley, Wy., I was the treasurer (volunteer) for the local Farmers Market. It was really small and I decided to make low sugar and gluten free treats to sell. The booth fee was $10.00 and at first I considered myself lucky to make that. As time went on I began to amass a clientele and was selling out of my goodies. I didn't really do it to make extra money but because I was a frustrated baker. I live alone and didn't want to always be making goodies because I would have been the only one eating them. Not good. It was getting to the point where I was going to have to make double batches. About that time decided to put my house up for sale and move to Alaska so I quit doing it.
I started substitute teaching this year and it’s been great. You have to find your “age” sweet spot. I discovered I do better with high school. Also try private schools. One of the private schools I do the kids are lovely.
Very small town schools probably have better-behaved children. I just moved to a town of 950 when I retired. All the kids seem really respectful. (Probably not completely true all the time, but the overall vibe is polite.
Shocked by how little your school district plays for substitute teachers. I live is a southern Minnesota in a non-metro area. I'm a substitute teacher and make $200 a day. I really enjoy the job and the flexibility it give our family. I do know they raised the pay this year because they saw the need for subs and also that if they don't pay them what they are worth they would not have sub. Teaching is not for everyone but it definitely rewarding is way that is not money also.
I live a short distance from Christine, our sub rates are similar to her area. I am amazed that students working at McDonald's after school make more than a substitute.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention starting your own UA-cam channel. Before UA-cam changed the rules on how many subscribers you needed to make money on the videos, I made about $100 every 1-3 months and that was just on one video I shared. We built a pole barn house about 12 years ago. I took photos along the way and made it into a video. The extra money was nice to have.
@@aliciaspears7847 You have to have 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours in one month. It's not easy at all. You have to be consistent with it. And you get paid roughly $3-5 per every one thousand views.
I was surprised that this was the first suggestion. It is an incredibly hard job! In my state you just can’t go in into a school and sub, and subs in my state need an emergency teaching license. There educational requirements for that as well. Subbing as an instructional paraprofessional is easier.
I've been a certified teacher/school counselor for 24 years (14 yrs teaching MS/HS).... YOU COULD NOT PAY ME ENOUGH MONEY TO SUBSTITUTE and I have excellent class management skills. (It's just not worth it and being an educator is my calling, I obviously don't do it for the money or respect, so that's saying something...)
I have always sewn as a hobby. When my children were young, I would hem pants or mend items for people. Not my favorite part of sewing ( I'd rather create something ) but it was easy side money occasionally.
Another one is applying with a staffing company. They do a lot of temporary or short term jobs and find them for you! It could be general labor or office type positions
This was one of the only side hustle videos that seems real. Great video as usual. I wish I'd have had this information when I was younger. I don't need any side jobs now since I'm retired, but if I decide to, I know 10 of them.
I started an organizing business but didn’t get very far into it when I had to stop to be a full time caregiver for my dad. I have a real knack for organizing.
Volunteer. It opens doors to people who need help. I’ve picked up a few side jobs like cleaning homes and yard work, just by meeting people I would never have met otherwise. Plus, you’re volunteering and doing something good for your community. If that’s not your thing, the schools are always looking for substitute teachers or ticket taker’s during game day.
Oh my God, some of you people suck and your bitterness is showing. Nobody is suggesting that you volunteer full time. Many volunteer opportunities are once per week, monthly or even quarterly. If you can't find two hours to help out in your community every 3 months then you have bigger problems than can be helped with this video. Speaking of which, if you weren't wasting your time scrolling through the comments section, you would have time to go do something. I believe the point of the original comment was that this person volunteered, met people they otherwise would not have & because of that, got side jobs.
Another option for more income is to donate plasma. I know it’s not for everyone but if you can manage it then just take about 1 hr -1.5 hrs and read a book or watch UA-cam and get paid while doing it. You can easily make a between $500-$550 a month
@nancyockrin7428 donating plasma is similar to donating double red cells at a red cross blood drive. Different but similar style. It is done in a regular office type place, not a rotation of random host venues. And is usually available in bigger cities or college towns. The biggest drawback (to my way of thinking) is that you are required to take in a bag of saline at room temperature. (We are 98.5, room temp here is lucky if it is 70, so instantly freaking cold.) I mean you get over it, but definitely in the drawback category. Rules vary, but you can donate 3 to 4 times a week. And many years ago it was $20 to $25 a time.
@@infjandcoping4614for plasma donation it’s definitely not allowed to be 3-4 times a week. All places limit to 2x a week. Maybe the double red blood is that often.
I donate plasma for about $60 each draw. Twice a week about an 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours each donation. This is an extra $480 a month. I lay there and read my book. Easy Peasy!
Financial planning is like navigation. If you know where you are and where you want to go, navigation isn't such a great problem. It's when you don't know the two points that it's difficult

Pet sitting isn’t just “playing with pets.” I’ve walked in on people who weren’t supposed to be in the house, parties, etc. Spent hours cleaning up after a dog with explosive diarrhea. Had a dog chew up a pair of Ferragamo shoes ($$$$$). Another dog was so old, the owner told me they fully expected him to die while they were gone. It’s more challenging than people realize.
A girl in Dallas, was mauled from being a pet sitter. Google her. It's a really sad story. Her entire face was ripped off, by 2 dogs that she was petsitting from one of those petsitting apps. Her story is the reason that I will never do that job.
I have a friend who picks up lanury and wash and dry and fold and they pick up. Its a hot market. Also right now kids are coming home with needing valentine boxes. Moms who don't have time are looking so make up some are creat a kit to put one together. They will sell think outside of the box
Ton of stuff out there. Some need some training like court reporting. Once you do the classes you can freelance. Attorneys pay good money. You go to their office, do the deposition. Take it home and finish it and submit to the attorneys. Once you get established you can pick your clients and work as little or as much as you like. Transporting human organs may sound weird but it is a lucrative thing to do. You need specific insurance but it pays well. The list goes on.
There’s a huge demand d for healthcare workers and a lot of companies will pay you to get certified or licensed! I worked as a CNA for 12 years before getting my RN license. Even at part time I made good money and it really helped support my family. Plus I love helping people and taking care of them!
I need 9k to finish paying off university so i can graduate next spring. I have paid it all in cash so far and it's required so much sacrifice. This video is so helpful ❤
Always looking for new authors/books to read so thanks for the recommendations. One of my favorite authors is Dick Francis. If you haven't read any of his books, start with The Edge or For Kicks or Hot Money. I watched HGTV decorating shows & picked up some painting techniques to use in my own house. Then I started helping friends, family & neighbors. Once I felt confident enough, I turned it into a painting business. Lots of people hate painting or aren't very good at it. I can work as much or as little as I want and I've even hired friends to help when I get bigger painting jobs. It's been a great way to earn some extra money.
Have you ever watched the penny series??.. guy starts with 1 penny and has to reach his goal... this year he was dropped in Paris and had to get back to the us... he is so creative with money making ideas...

But we trust him in our home ! 😂Glenda
Rover is great. It can take a little while to start getting bookings but generally once someone uses you, if you have done a good job, they will continue to come back and book with you. Cats are the easiest in my experience.
Mowing is a good side hustle. So is house sitting while folks are on vacation. Animal husbandry while folks are on vacation. Not too many farmers will go and stay gone for any length of time, but we're living in a time where people are moving to a place with a few acres and "homesteading". They aren't used to NOT having a vacation. My guess is they'd pay someone with some common knowledge (maybe even more than they have themselves on the subject) to feed and water for them, etc. or just check on the animals daily to count and make sure a massacre hasn't happened from dogs or coyotes over night. Our neighbor paid my kid $10 per day to feed and water their outside cats while they were gone. 2-5 minutes a day!
I’ve been substitute teaching for a few years at my kids’’ charter school. I get $17/hr. Before that I worked at my kids elementary school, both in nutrition services and custodial. I made anywhere from $10-$13 an hour. It is AWESOME to have the same schedule and summers off. 😁 I’ve got a friend who makes UA-cam content. She really enjoys the editing and has thought about trying that as a side hustle. She’s also got a great voice on audio and I think she’d do well with audio book recording.
I can imagine trying to do the Turo thing… Our truck is only 24 years old with a manual transmission and broken drivers seat (booster seat required for me to see and I’m 5’5’) most people under 30 would probably not be able to figure out how to ✨roll down✨ the windows, much less shift gears 😂😂😂 Maybe we can rent it out as a “nostalgia ride”, wear your early 2000’s clothes and ride!
We used Turo when we went to Florida a few years ago. Super simple! Much cheaper than renting a car from one of the big name rental companies. My adult daughter was skeptical but now Turo is all she uses when she needs to rent a car.
I haven't tried it yet but for fun I like to do Ancestry look up for friends and family. Maybe some day I can do it for a side hustle. I also here that there's a need for Banquet servers, set up and take down. Never tried it either. Wedding, Birthday, School dance DJ's is a good side hustle. We have had to hire people to set up and take down inflatables like bounce houses. Personal chef, Party planner or party rentals Lawn care or handy man .
In my area, the biggest side hustle for the teen in our neighborhood is light yardwork and snow shoveling. In part because the elderly folks in our neighborhood that can't do these tasks for themselves. My sister's big side hustle is reselling on eBay with her thrifting finds!
A good side hustle would be to do people's laundry. Just washing, drying and folding. If you enjoy ironing, that could be added as well. Just have them drop it off and pick it up when it's done.
2 years ago, i wanted to work from home, but only part-time. I started a personal laundry service. Sat down and did all the paperwork to figure out what to charge. It has worked put perfectly!! At first, I would do only 1 family a day, making about $200 a week. When i retire, i will absolutely double up.
We started doing Rover. Our dog loves to have a friend to play with. We charge $60 per day. It helps pay for our ultra running travel and putting aside money for our kids college fund.
Thank you so much for these ideas! I love when people share how we can use our skills and talents to earn extra cash! I have a side hustle as well as a part-time office manager job! We can do this people! 😊👍
Rogue and Speedy for president!!! Some of these ideas are great but don't work with having an 8-5. Lol weekends are filled with catching up from the week
I do something similar to help pay for lessons. For voice lessons, I clean the voice teacher’s studio. Ask if there’s things like that those places want in exchange for lessons for yourself or your kids.
Another side job i just heard about is going and sitting with older people in there houses, just letting them company and maybe help them bake etc. not doing any heathcare with them. Also i have done instacart, make sure you keep track of your miles that they don't pay you for😊 When doing said Jobs is great when they pay cash👍
My name got around for mending and alterations when the only other sewist in our small town stopped doing it. Going rate was $20/hour. Often needed with on-line shopping and jobs with uniforms.
Lots of great ideas! Another one I don't see mentioned is swimly! You need a pool or hottub of course, but its basically air bnb but for pools/hottubs :)
I’m a preschool teacher and I babysit for some of the kids at my center ! I charge $25 an hour and $15 an hour each for multiple kids. Such a big help financially and I love doing it 💙💕
We used Turo on our trip to Hawaii last summer and it was a great experience! Cheaper than the car rental company and the hosts were great to deal with. I don’t think I’d rent out my own car, but I’ll use Turo as a consumer again in the future for sure!
I make no sew tie blankets. Love doing them, it relaxes me. Mostly for gifts. A friend paid me to make her a blanket a couple times. I asked for the price of materials and labor, about $50.
I only ever use turo for trips or special occasions. It's great being able to pick what you want. Usually cheaper than rental car place too. Great if you want to buy a certain car but want to make sure it will work for your lifestyle/needs first.
So glad you encourage people to get life insurance if they have people depending on them financially! Another form of insurance that can be even more critical is disability insurance. In that situation, you lose income generating ability and have additional expenses and caregiving requirements on top of it. If your workplace offers it, max it out!
How did you find that job?
I have someone who cuts my grass and he is amazing. Who also turned into a great friend
My husband was out of work for almost 4 months. I sold baked goods and did a relative's laundry, he did odd jobs with our neighbor who's a contractor. My Dad used to say, do the things no one else is willing to do and you'll make money.

How did you do this without everyone jumping on you for licenses?
Did you just do cash or did you claim it on your taxes ?
Hey Christine, have you heard of Papa Pal? My husband and I are US missionaries and have lost a lot of support in the past year, so I had to come up with a side gig to help offset that. Papa Pal is amazing!! It is where you can pick jobs on an app to offer the elderly companionship and help them with different things, like take them to appointments, grocery shopping, do light cleaning at their house, play games with them, read to them, etc. I feel like it is another ministry and so it is not just a side gig for ne anymore, and is very fulfilling.
How nice is that?! :)
Just be aware, I did Papa pals in my area and all of the available clients were at least 2 hrs away-that’s 4 hrs round trip. And then when I got there they didn’t want me to stay the whole time I was scheduled for. Not worth it 😕
😊
Thinking about investing as a long-term strategy might be more beneficial.
Just don't tell the evil irs! They'll never know

I don't like the irs either ,lol, but people should still be aware of what they will pursue; evil or not aside.
Woot!

Great video as always💚
Another side job: grocery shop and food prep for the week. People will definitely pay for this service.
It’s not worth the risk for the dog or you
@@felesnocisso some shops will hire bathers only?
If you need a title for the decluttering, title yourself as an accountability partner. Same actions.
Great tip!
I work in a school and you are correct!
lol
I agree..it takes a special person to be a teacher, and that's not me!
I agree. Well behaved students have become unicorns. Teaching is so stressful nowadays!
Oh yeah. Everywhere I've worked I wound up being the company tailor. When people find out you sew word gets around!
👜 I remember your mom's hot bag stashed in the pantry!
As a dog walker/pet care professional, please be aware that laws and regulations need to be followed. And please get specific pet care insurance ❤

Driving seniors to doctor appointments is a good side hustle as well.
How do you advertise and decide on what to charge ?
I love doing all that stuff but hate charging people 😢

Just an idea but I LOVE to cook and am aware that many people don’t or don’t know how to or can’t or whatever else, so if I needed an extra income, I would offer my services as a home chef one or two days per week.
Two I want to mention:

You might still be able to do that, or be a local coordinator for an Azure Standard site.
$200 a day, that’s awesome. Minimum wage is $15 where I live. That $70 she mentioned would be an insult 😂
In Australia $200/day is an insult. We earn $500/day as sub teachers
Even with the exchange rate that is very good :)@@julierussell5773
My town just lowered the sub rate! It's something like $85/day now. McDonald's and Target here pay more.
Wow, I had no idea you had to have a minimum number of subscribers to earn money. I thought it went by views only. Thanks for letting us know
@@aliciaspears7847 You have to have 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours in one month. It's not easy at all. You have to be consistent with it. And you get paid roughly $3-5 per every one thousand views.

Substitute teaching IS a ton of effort...that is why they are in such high demand.
Yes, not an easy job at all!
I’ve been trying to find a work at home job for months. Can you do a video showcasing legitimate companies? Thanks!
I've had many. What exactly are you looking for? Side hustle money or full time with benefits?
Not sure yet! Throw out some ideas please 🙏🏻
I have always sewn as a hobby. When my children were young, I would hem pants or mend items for people. Not my favorite part of sewing ( I'd rather create something ) but it was easy side money occasionally.
Oh my god i wish I knew someone who would do that for me
Another one is applying with a staffing company. They do a lot of temporary or short term jobs and find them for you! It could be general labor or office type positions
Your videos bring so much joy to my life. Thank you for making them.
I’ve used Turo since 2018 in California and Florida and have always had a great experience.
This was one of the only side hustle videos that seems real. Great video as usual. I wish I'd have had this information when I was younger. I don't need any side jobs now since I'm retired, but if I decide to, I know 10 of them.
I use to model for art classes close to full time. And even did a gig recently at 65yrs old. No matter what the body type
Definitely this--art classes need an array of body types so anyone can do it if willing!
I've used Turo several times. I needed a newer car to make a two-hour trip to doctor appointments. It's worked great. The cars were nice and clean.
But, if you volunteer you aren't making any money?
Must be nice to live a life where you can say "oh, you just just volunteer". Many people do not have that luxury.
I love your idea!!!
Grace… please try a little grace… the woman is taking the time to share an idea. My extra thought: Attitude while job hunting cannot be understated.
My friend makes cookies and knows how to professionally frost them with designs. She’s usually fully booked! Very popular.
Another option for more income is to donate plasma. I know it’s not for everyone but if you can manage it then just take about 1 hr -1.5 hrs and read a book or watch UA-cam and get paid while doing it. You can easily make a between $500-$550 a month
Never heard of this? Red Cross runs blood drives here where people are to donate for free.
Do you get taxed for this?
I donate plasma for about $60 each draw. Twice a week about an 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours each donation. This is an extra $480 a month. I lay there and read my book. Easy Peasy!
How do you feel afterwards? Does it affect you that day and/or the following day?

@Nicole-zv7ee you could always just do cats or other non-dog animals too, much less likely for that to happen
@@uhhhhh4748 That's a good point. Thank you.
@@uhhhhh4748I was considering this. I love dogs but they can be dangerous.
These are great ideas Christine! FYI, any side hustle earning over $600 must be reported as taxable income. 😵💫
I have a friend who picks up lanury and wash and dry and fold and they pick up. Its a hot market. Also right now kids are coming home with needing valentine boxes. Moms who don't have time are looking so make up some are creat a kit to put one together. They will sell think outside of the box
I've seen services that do that. I love that.
How does she price the laundry services?
We use Turo anytime we travel needing a vehicle! We have looooved loved it for about 5 years now!
How do you get Organ Transporting started??
I recently looked into the organ donating delivery and it said you needed to be an EMT or cop to do it.
Ohhh..! Ok Thank you for letting me know..
There’s a huge demand d for healthcare workers and a lot of companies will pay you to get certified or licensed! I worked as a CNA for 12 years before getting my RN license. Even at part time I made good money and it really helped support my family. Plus I love helping people and taking care of them!
I do sewing alterations and handmade crafts as my side hustle.
In Mesa two small dogs .. one neurotic Likes to go out to bark at particles if we are not home especially at night … so we have a dog sitter for all our vacations who comes from his regular job and stays overnight … no meds no walks ( unless he wants to walk them ) 50 bucks a day … yuppppp !
I can imagine trying to do the Turo thing… Our truck is only 24 years old with a manual transmission and broken drivers seat (booster seat required for me to see and I’m 5’5’) most people under 30 would probably not be able to figure out how to ✨roll down✨ the windows, much less shift gears 😂😂😂
Maybe we can rent it out as a “nostalgia ride”, wear your early 2000’s clothes and ride!
We used Turo when we went to Florida a few years ago. Super simple! Much cheaper than renting a car from one of the big name rental companies. My adult daughter was skeptical but now Turo is all she uses when she needs to rent a car.
I discovered Turo recently.. to know its a Real thing is great. Thank you for posting this. I will book my trip.!! ❤
Personal chef, Party planner or party rentals
Lawn care or handy man .
I think I'd be afraid of people saying/accusing me of ruining something... people are weird
What do you suppose would be a good rate to charge for that?
2 years ago, i wanted to work from home, but only part-time. I started a personal laundry service. Sat down and did all the paperwork to figure out what to charge. It has worked put perfectly!! At first, I would do only 1 family a day, making about $200 a week. When i retire, i will absolutely double up.
Thank you for suggesting substitute teaching! Schools are in such a great need for them!
A Painted House by John Grisham was amazing! It was a departure from his normal genre of books.
I'll have to check that out. I always liked John Grisham 🙏
We started doing Rover. Our dog loves to have a friend to play with. We charge $60 per day. It helps pay for our ultra running travel and putting aside money for our kids college fund.
That's amazing!
Yay for the book update!!! I hope you continue to share what you’re reading. I’ve been loving Elin Hilderbrand.
Another side job i just heard about is going and sitting with older people in there houses, just letting them company and maybe help them bake etc. not doing any heathcare with them.
Also i have done instacart, make sure you keep track of your miles that they don't pay you for😊
When doing said Jobs is great when they pay cash👍
My side hustles.. Massage Therapy and swimming lessons
OMG! Im reading, If You Tell right now. I have also rented someone's car on vacation. Its great & easy, didnt have any problems at all.
Lawn care, weeding, raking, shoveling, snow blowing/plowing, window washing,
I have not read this book yet, but my sister is in a book club & highly recommends it. The book is “Educated” by Tara Westover.
I'm currently tutoring and pet sitting, while developing my third hustle. I DO NOT miss commuting to work at all!
I make no sew tie blankets. Love doing them, it relaxes me. Mostly for gifts. A friend paid me to make her a blanket a couple times. I asked for the price of materials and labor, about $50.
Turo sounds amazing. I was going to use as it is so much cheaper than rentals!!
