That is literally why Judo was invented. Judo removed all of the throws and joint locks that could not be practiced safely in actual sparring - since if you can't actually practice a technique against an uncooperative opponent you'll never be good enough to apply it effectively anyway, no matter how good it is on paper. Aikido went the opposite way - that's pretty much all they do. That's why they don't spar at all, after a few weeks they wouldn't have any members left, they'd all be injured.
Because bjj is ground combat sport bjj has one of the best ground fighting systems and not standing fighting system try fighting against bjj trainers on the ground

I grew up on a rough council estate in Brixton South London… *NEVER* have I seen this on the streets. You need fast, explosive accurate 2-3 hit combination.. You need stamina to shout, fight hard for short bursts within a timeframe of 1 minute… Then be able to run fast and long to get away from the scene
Nobody is doing a jumping takedown in a street fight. But judo rnc/guillotine will fuck you up, supplement with striking(boxing, muay thai) and proper distance management. Problem is if you only do this and dont spar or do live training.
Pretty sure the samurai couldn’t jump like that in full armour with weapons involved, and the ground is a super bad place to go in the middle of a battle 🧐
@@kinglame2112 They wore weapons almost all the time though, try these techniques with a bokken and wakazashi in your belt and see how you get on. This might be post-samurai JuJutsu but it isn’t koryu or anything that is from the battlefield.
@@alexandrete835 There are two routes of JuJutsu out of Japan. Most of it is the modernised stuff post-WW2. The modernised stuff is way different to the Koryu approach, so whilst both can be classed as Japanese JuJutsu, they are not both from the same past. Nor are both what the Samurai used when it comes to suggesting what is and isn't.
After watching battle reenactment of samurai fighting (mainly with spears not tachi or katana), it was evident that of you wanted to strike a fatal blow then it was best to take the opponent to the floor, pin and then get the knife in a gap of the armour such as under the helmet. I believe this is the source of judo and jujitsu and many of these techniques are not suitable unarmed with someone pinching your face in
I love this art and it is sad that most people know only BJJ. Many people not know this and it isn't even on the video (no critics). But this art also has your stand up game aka striking and kicking.
Those jumping takedowns are dangerous as fuck its a good way to fuck up your training partner for life

Welcome to Japanese Jujutsu
JJJ is meant to kill.
@@BigUriel If you mean kani-basami, no. kani-basami is removed from Judo in the late 80s, 80 years after judo was invented.
It's dangerous in live sparring, much less so in complient drills.
So very nice to see real JiuJitsu.
great demo master, good job guys
show the techniques
gogoplata, toe hold, bow and arrow choke please thank you
So much better than Bjj

Put up or shut up, yo 😂
Bjj is newaza. Id bet a good Nak muay would flatten a good Japanese jujutsu guy though
@realisticandrealfighter9151 BJJ is a sport and JJJ will teach you how to be a killer

You know, the Gracie University stuff is basically this- but with shittier takedowns and no one knows ukemi.

Thanks a lot Muhammad !
Honestly i have never seen this way of applying a kani basami or scisscor takedown...

Not every samurai was decked out in heavy armor

@@chriswilcox8977 Hi Chris, you are correct it's not the art of the samurai on the battlefield in full armor, evidently 🙌

Bjj guys take boxing or muay thai for striking. Those are superior arts to this one
Finally you're barefoot
