I LOVE this progress video! Thanks for sharing! I'm an adult skater also working on getting my single axel. I did some in the harness tonight and my coach said she wasn't supporting me, then of course went and ate shit out of the harness loooool. the struggle is real.
I'm so happy this was helpful! So much of it is mental! On the harness everything is fine and then when I'm off my brain just like shuts off and refuses. Best of luck on your axel! I know you will land it!

We are at totally different levels but I feel you on the fear. My coach just started working with me on 3 turns and I was super scared to do that!

Hey Cathy, thank you for motivating me to keep at it! I sometimes feel a little down when I see children landing axels with ease while i have been trying for about six years now. 😅
Do you also practice a double jump? I feel like my double salchow is more achievable than my axel.
I feel you spiritually on the above! I'm in the same boat and yes I do! I've been starting to practice my double sal in the off season too, and I agree in a way the double sal feels more achievable even when it's 0.5 rotations more. I think it's because the forward takeoff in the axel just makes the technique so hard to learn! But I have faith that both of us will get both the axel AND the double sal one day- so keep cracking at it and keep us all posted on how it goes!
