To keep the turkey's out, try pinwheels. We put them in the garden to detract not only birds, but the vibration deters moles as well. Last ones I bought were from the dollar tree, or as we call it the buck and a quarter store.

@AlleghenyHomestead haven't had turkey's in my garden, but great deterant for mole. Since they are Shiney and move I would bet it would keep wild turkey away. They spook easily.
