The first step in 2look PLL has got two algorithms - one with the corners being with opposite colours (so blue-green and orange-red if you solve on white) and one with the corners' colours being adjacent with headlights. If you have learned 2look CFOP from J Perm's videos, you'll see that the latter is in fact a T perm! (The first case btw uses a Y perm.)

This is a great tutorial! Its really fast and pretty simple if you get your mind to it. The only thing I want to say is that if you already know 2-look OLL on the 3x3 then you can use the algorithms from that and apply it to the cases that look similar when you do OLL.

R' U R' F2 R F' R with the bar on top in the back and no bars on the bottom is wayyyy easier than that double regrip alg where you put the bar in the front. Start with your right hand thumb on top/fingers on bottom and you literally have 0 regrips (use your right thumb for the F' at the end).
You can do the alg in the video without regripping (R U' R F2 R' U R'). Start with your right thumb on bottom, and when you get to F2 your thumb should be on the bottom, and you can use your ring finger/pinky to do the F2. In any case I will still be stealing the algorithm you posted for the case when the bar is in the back so I don't have to do a U2, thanks! :^)
For last layer (The 2 corner swap) PLL, instead of a T perm actually J perm works and I think it’s better because J perm has a shorter and easier algorithm than a t perm in my opinion
1:13 Or you can do F ( R U' R' U' ) ( R U R' F' ) 2:07 If the bars are at the back, you can just do R2 U' R2' U2' F2 U' R2 2:27 I prefer doing something like R U' l D2' R' U l' ( cube rotation while doing R to avoid regrip ) If the bar is on the bottom, take it in front of you and just do L D' L F2 L' D L' 2:40 I also prefer taking the bar in the front and doing the Ja perm : R' U L' U2 ( R U' R' U2 ) ( R l or Cube rotation while doing R2 ) 2:54 Instead ( R U' R' U' ) F2 U' ( R U R' U ) F2 is better I hope it could help you, just find the good fingertricks 😉
Personally I tried to watch other tutorials on this but they didn’t explain it too well or went to fast. Jperm went at a perfect pace and explained it perfectly and even told us what our objective was. (Solve the most solved side, oll. Solve the rest with one algorithm.) thank you for posting this video and allowing me to understand it easily.
for the T perm case you could do a variation of a Ja perm; R' F R F' R U2' R' U R U2' R' This algorithm is a lot faster and shorter than T perm, but it might be hard to get used to doing
Thank you J Perm! I actually used your tutorial to learn this method and now I average under 10 seconds! ( I'm still Improving and need to learn the last two algorithms ) But thank you so much!
Benjamin Bakken It actually it is better because j perm made a video on how to get faster on Ortega and he said the algorithm (R U’ R’ U’ F2 U’ R U R’ U F2) was faster and more efficient.
I have an idea for the third pbl algorithm at 2:35, you could do x' and r at the same time and just do d2 instead and go back down without having to regrip
I remember seeing a video where someone solved a 2x2 by just doing the same pattern over and over until it eventually solved. That’s the only one that doesn’t make my brain go derp from the checklist plethora of “if>then” possibilities.
again, not gonna watch these videos because I wanna learn it myself when I get one.. feelsbadman... also, do you have any tips on how to find your ideal setup?? like the right tensions and feel? I keep overshooting and am not quite sure if it's the cube or my turning and, how important in your opinion is lubing, I have never bought one or lubed my cube and is vaseline viable, I average 22 secs and I think I should really improve my LL and when is lube necessary to get better times keep up the gr8 work ^_^
if your at 22 second FOR SURE get some lube if you on a budget (ish_ id get the cubicles pack of dnm37 silk and lubicle one..i had the same Q when i started and like no one really talk about it its just a given to them but yes it makes a very legit differece... i avrage around 23-24 and wouldent be able to do it with out lube lol i have 16 bottles of different lubes cause i wanted to try them all but the also last ahile.
If it's a speedcube, don't use vaseline. I recommend the three pack of Traxxas 10k, 30k, and 50k from Amazon, and maybe some silk as well. I always put 50k on the core. If I want to speed it up, 10k on pieces. for slowing down, probably 30k, it depends. I also sometimes mix them. Dnm gives short bursts of speed
I firmly believe it's impossible to do that faster than F R' F' R U R U' R'. I know I don't usually make strong claims about alg A is better than B, but here's why: - 1 less move - U moves alternate hands, which is good at a high TPS - same number of F moves

Lol i have kinda good execution on the alg but my recognition is terrible. I feel embarrassed to say this, but on 3x3, it takes at least 20 seconds on average to finish f2l.
@@Seam_n No shame in that. I take a bit longer than that on 3x3 to finish f2l
Arceus3251 yeah im still kind of a beginner
And you have to predict the next step.
The "if this is this, then do this (shows algorithm)" is really helpful! thanks dylan! :D
This is surprisingly easy after learning 2-look oll and pll on the three by three. The algorithms are similar and u can use you own algorithms too!
ill try this strategy, thanks!
Cheers, I'm giving my sister a 2x2 this week. Was wondering what vid on UA-cam would be a good starting place. Thanks for saving me a search. Nice vid as always.
Yah! It's better to start with the beginner's method.
Go on his bigginer tutorial
This is probably too late. But you should search up. You can do the 2 by 2 Rubik’s cube and the Rubik’s brand website will come up. It is super easy because it has all the cases and pictures of algorithms!

I just learned to solve the 2x2 in 3 Min, thanks!
after practising for about 3 - 4 days I already beat my pb!! (PB was 7.91 while using beginners, now is 3.19 while using ortega) thanks j perm!!
Thanks so much! This helped a lot. Instead of having 32.79 as my best time, I now have a 12.52!
Edit: New best is 5.44. skipped 2nd and 3rd steps
should i use a beginner tutorial cuz im not that fast

my pb was 27.51 but with this method its now 5.23

👇if you agree that j-perm makes the best cubing how to, and solving videos
For last layer (The 2 corner swap) PLL, instead of a T perm actually J perm works and I think it’s better because J perm has a shorter and easier algorithm than a t perm in my opinion
Agreed 😎
Thanks Dylan, it changed my PB average from 11 to 6 seconds
1:13 Or you can do F ( R U' R' U' ) ( R U R' F' )
2:07 If the bars are at the back, you can just do R2 U' R2' U2' F2 U' R2
2:27 I prefer doing something like R U' l D2' R' U l' ( cube rotation while doing R to avoid regrip )
If the bar is on the bottom, take it in front of you and just do L D' L F2 L' D L'
2:40 I also prefer taking the bar in the front and doing the Ja perm : R' U L' U2 ( R U' R' U2 ) ( R l or Cube rotation while doing R2 )
2:54 Instead ( R U' R' U' ) F2 U' ( R U R' U ) F2 is better
I hope it could help you, just find the good fingertricks 😉

Personally I tried to watch other tutorials on this but they didn’t explain it too well or went to fast. Jperm went at a perfect pace and explained it perfectly and even told us what our objective was. (Solve the most solved side, oll. Solve the rest with one algorithm.) thank you for posting this video and allowing me to understand it easily.
You can also slow the video down if it is to fast
I am starting my 2x2 journey here after learning beginner method
Wish me luck and from time to time I will keep updates
This is so amazing...and with the steps its perfect!
2x2 is so satisfying to turn... I got one for christmas and its super fast. This tutorial got me to solve it super fast in only 2 days.
i use a different tperm and different diagonal perm. I thought i had to learn 5 more algs for PBL but now i only have to learn 3 :D. 😁
I’m in school but jperm posted so jperm >school

Noah Gibson. Accurate
best youtuber ever, i started cubing because i saw this channel
Really helpful, I actually learned a lot
Thank you! :D
for the T perm case you could do a variation of a Ja perm; R' F R F' R U2' R' U R U2' R'
This algorithm is a lot faster and shorter than T perm, but it might be hard to get used to doing
Thanks so much J perm
You explain tutorials the best

OMG YOUR A LEGEND YOU JUST HELPED ME SOLVE MY FIRST CUBE THANK YOU!!!
My average for this now is like 3 minutes because of you thank you so much!

3:00 or you could also do (R U' R' U') F2 (U' R U R') D R2
Thank you J Perm! I actually used your tutorial to learn this method and now I average under 10 seconds! ( I'm still Improving and need to learn the last two algorithms ) But thank you so much!
2:41 you can just do a J perm it’s a lot quicker
Actually there is even one special alg for this case just for 2x2 that is shorter and quicker to execute: R U2 R´ U´ R U2 L´ U R´U´ R
I use R'FRF'RU2R'URU2R'whever I get oll skip and T perm using cll/eg1 method
The tutorial is super easy to understand thx a lot
Thank you for making this video, it was really helpful. You are a great UA-camr,keep it up.
3:03 That's slow
This alg maybe faster: R U' R' U' F2 U' R U R' U F2
Duy Anh Le the other ones a bit more efficient
Just because this alg has less moves doesn't mean it's better.
Benjamin Bakken
It actually it is better because j perm made a video on how to get faster on Ortega and he said the algorithm (R U’ R’ U’ F2 U’ R U R’ U F2) was faster and more efficient.
Bro you just posted cringe.
Definitely best cubing teacher ever he taught me 1x1 2x2 3x3 4x4 and megaminx

I have an idea for the third pbl algorithm at 2:35, you could do x' and r at the same time and just do d2 instead and go back down without having to regrip
I remember seeing a video where someone solved a 2x2 by just doing the same pattern over and over until it eventually solved. That’s the only one that doesn’t make my brain go derp from the checklist plethora of “if>then” possibilities.
1:34 R U' R2 U R2 U R2 U' R? I prefer this alg muuuch over both the ones you showed (it's basically your alg but with no double flicks)

I prefer the one he showed because I’m already super used to it because it’s the same for 3x3
@@christina8935 good point, but my alg is actually also just a standard oll alg (though all the R moves are just wide on 3x3)
yes I like this one better too :) the reason I went with the other is because Ortega is kind of beginner and most people would already know it.

again, not gonna watch these videos because I wanna learn it myself when I get one.. feelsbadman...
also, do you have any tips on how to find your ideal setup?? like the right tensions and feel?
I keep overshooting and am not quite sure if it's the cube or my turning
and, how important in your opinion is lubing, I have never bought one or lubed my cube and is vaseline viable, I average 22 secs and I think I should really improve my LL and when is lube necessary to get better times
keep up the gr8 work ^_^
if your at 22 second FOR SURE get some lube
if you on a budget (ish_ id get the cubicles pack of dnm37 silk and lubicle one..i had the same Q when i started and like no one really talk about it its just a given to them but yes it makes a very legit differece... i avrage around 23-24 and wouldent be able to do it with out lube lol i have 16 bottles of different lubes cause i wanted to try them all but the also last ahile.
You don't really need lube I prefer my carbon fiber 2×2 I average 6to 7 seconds (6.84) and I don't use line

1:14 For me F R U' R' U' R U R' F' is just faster idk why
I firmly believe it's impossible to do that faster than F R' F' R U R U' R'. I know I don't usually make strong claims about alg A is better than B, but here's why:
- 1 less move
- U moves alternate hands, which is good at a high TPS
- same number of F moves
Yeah I'm switching to that alg. There's always a weird regrip before the short alg
