Optimal step 42 is probably not optimal because you have to go through those 3 million permutations, and find the exact solution, without any mistakes, all under 15 seconds of inspection. So probably going to be probably impossible...

Obviously for CLL you only need one alg instead of two but the disadvantage is that you have to build one complete layer instead of just a side. And I think the EG algs are a bit shorter than the CLL algs (but I´m not sure)

Honestly, you can probably skip lbl and go straight to Ortega since there are only 3 extra algs you need to learn (and they are extremely easy to learn).
Thank you so much Brody now i have a unofficial record of 0.53 seconds it was four moves to solve the cube and a 4 move scramble try it out for your self. The scramble is U R' U R. And also the same day I got a scramble that can take 3 moves to solve and it took me 0.38 seconds sadly it was a 3 mover so I did not count as a solve :( . The scramble is R2 U' R' F' R' F U F R2 for the 3 move scramble.

I have Slow Hands because I had a minor stroke in my past and also lots of nerve damage but I have still managed to get back on my feet and to still be able to do this in about 12 seconds
if you mess up and 2 of the first layer piece are swapped you should use this alg: U R U’ R2 F R2 U’ R’ U’ its easy to do and fast if you practice it but it messes up the top layer

You don't need a 4 mover to get sub-1, my PB (0.92) was a 5 or 6 mover if I remember correctly
