That's because she goes really in depth. But it's not "her porosity thing" just take bits and pieces of the information like to fine out which category you fall into. Based on how your hair retains moisture
High porosity absorbs water really fast basically water or moisture quickly penetrate the hair. Dries fast. Tangles easily Low porosity take alot to get wet example when washing, the hair does not easily absorb water or moisture. Can take hours or days to dry naturallly.Knots at the ends easily. Medium porosity is sorta balanced between the both.
I think i'm somewhat between low and medium porosity because I have a lot of single strand knots, it absorbs products slowly unless it's with heat, but it gets dry fast too. It has a lot of shrinkage, but it stretches pretty easily.
K-power single strand knots are not impacted by porosity as implied in this video but because kinky hair tangles as a result of movement and curling on itself (not how much moisture and products gets in and out which is what porosity is) . SSN are as a result how you do your hair especially if you keep it in braid outs, twist outs, puffs or wash and goes. It is then heightened by lying down with these styles and how you preserve example pineapples actually promote hair knotting while you sleep by how the hair interacts with the bonnet or pillow and other strands . These styles allow your hair to curl around itself and form knots especially with the level of moisture needed to get that definition . Stretched hair, blow dried and slightly moisturized hair (no matter the porosity) is prone to less ssn because it glides along air and surfaces better and it's not as likely to fold or curl around itself. Also pinning hair before going to bed, doing braids/twists or buns reduce it because the hair is forced to stay in a certain position.
You are so right about the hair typing system. The information you share on medium porosity is great. My oldest daughter's hair does exactly what you said. Her hair grows with little effort, butt length in 5 years. Holds moisture well and tangles not as much
Hi! I have a video showing our product stash. You can find it by searching UA-cam for "Discoveringnatural stash". She takes care of her hair herself majority of the time. She likes to shampoo with SheaMoisture JBCO and deep condition with SheaMoisture 10 in 1 hair mask. We make our own oil mix (find recipe by searching for "DiscoveringNatural Oil mix". She moisturizes with SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative conditioner and style with Eden Bodyworks Curl Defining Cream. Once a month, she does a protein treatment with SheaMoisture JBCO hair treatment. If you ever want to talk one on one, message me on Facebook at DiscoveringNatural
Honestly, I know the hair typing system is lacking, but it wasn't created to tell us the whole story, but just the texture/curl pattern we have. I find it helpful to see the categories of hair textures, especially when i find someone with the same hair type as me. Then i can do my own research about porosity, what products are the best, etc, which I'm glad you have created a chart for. But i'm curious to know why some of you dislike it so much?
Well i think its stil an indicator. if your hair is 4c, you can't detangle it as 3a girls, you need products with extra slip and extreme patience in order not to break your hair. Its coilier, harder to detangle, easier to break. Most of the time you will need more moisture and hydration bc its coilier then more fragile. You can't do the same stuff, like you won't have the same result if you do a "pineapple" to go to bed if you have type 4 hair as type 3 hair girls. Like if hair type didn't mean anything, type 1 girls could do the same stuff as type 4 girls. But they can't, bc the coilier, the dryer. Their hair would be weighted down and greasy.
Yea obviously you need a good amount of slip, but logically type 4 hair needs even more. Like if your hair was wavy and not curly detangling would be easier and you wouldnt need that much slip, still, but less. Thats what i meant
+Aurelie's A Natural This is what i find so funny, for years/generations we were taught the looser the hair, the easier "more good" it is. However, looking back on that, and the ppl who i've met since going natural, whether black or not, looser hair seems to tangle more often, and/or require more to detangle than kinkier textures. For instance, I just use water on my 4c hair, to detangle, nothing else.
byoung4eva1 lol I've never seen that. I always see looser textures to be easier and tighter curlier textures like mine to be harder. It depends on the person. But typically tighter textures are harder to detangle
Excellent content and creative delivery! You are the "Oprah Winfrey" of the natural hair community! You provide awesome, easy to follow, useful, inspiring information! Thank you as always for sharing! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
THANK YOU for making this video! I have medium or "balanced" porosity and I hardly ever see any UA-cam videos about my hair type. That's pretty disappointing. Please keep creating videos for medium porosity hair types (including styles and product information) it would be greatly appreciated.
I have watched quite a few videos about identifying porosity that left me confused so I gave up. This is the first thorough and easy to understand series on porosity I have ever seen! I now know I am low porosity. You have the most accurate information of any I've come across. Thanks so much!
This video was very insightful. I watched your other videos on low and high porosity and knew my hair was neither of those things. I don't get single strand knots, my hair doesn't get tangled between weekly wash days, and I have no problem detangling my hair. I'm glad to hear there is a medium porosity option.
For years, I've been confused about my porosity until last year I finally discovered I am medium. There are more options than the extremes. Thank you #greenbeauty.
This video makes me feel better about the fact that I don’t think my hair falls on either extreme of the porosity spectrum. Thank you for the clear-cut explanation. This is the most helpful video I’ve seen on this topic.
Your information is golden! I appreciate the time and energy you put into your research and videos and thank you for sharing. I am beginning to understand porosity a little better and I believe my hair is a mixture. Keep up the good work!
My hair is medium porosity according to a porosity test I made a couple month ago, but I never treated my hair accordingly. Thank you my dear. Your video is wake up call to pay more attention to my hair 👍
I'm still kind of confused. On one hand my hair does puff up easily when I do a twist out, but I have really tight shrinkage. I can't tell if it is high or low porosity.
I just found out I have both high & low porosity hair, but not medium. My hair absorbs products very slowly, tangles easily, create single strand knits easily, has tight shrinkage, & puffs out of my desired style very quickly after the hair has been styled etc. Thank you for this vides as it's confirmed my suspicions.
Always love your work! I always understood the 1-4c system as a way to classify the shape of the curl wave or lack there of not for the entire hair profile. Thank you for going over this as well!
Thank so much for taking the time to do this series. It is greatly appreciated. You're are really the only one on UA-cam that I fully trust with my natural hair info. Thanks again so much
As detailed as this video is, I'm still confused. I guess I'm medium porosity because my hair has characteristics from both sides. I'm gonna watch all of the videos in this series to get to the bottom of this! Lol
Gah, I think I'm low to medium porosity. As I know when I first get my hair wet to wash it, it's like either my hair is either too thick or the cuticle too tight to even accept any water at first. So it takes a little while to get it wet. But once it is(I'd say roughly after 10 to 15 mins or so), then I can use my shampoo and so forth with ease. However, when it comes down to actually drying my hair? I would imagine it would take a few hours(never really timed it out, which I should do to know for sure), but it's definitely dry in 1 day(not the entirety of the day) and not really sopping wet throughout the day. Come to think of it, after getting rid of some of the excess water before I start applying my products. It seems to be relatively damp to almost dry-ish already... And I guess once I start applying my products(if I'm not really heavy handed with them or using Cantu products as often), my hair seems to hold moisture pretty well. I know that when I was relaxed I was able to stay moisturized up to 2 to 3 days. Sometimes 4. As I've recently big chopped/shaved 2 months ago though, I think I was able to keep moisturized for 2 to 3 days for a time as well. Just hard to tell as I've been using some hair growth oils that call for application twice a day(and yea I do the whole LOC method over again as I have read from various hair blogs that oils don't moisturize the hair on their own). And also having read, that you have to dampen the hair before applying products, when you are natural(which again, I'm heavy handed on that too at times. Do to my initial comments about my hair and it's reaction to water) and I think I kind of wash out a good portion of the product I previously put in my hair from earlier in the day. To the point where my hair feels dry when I wake up(hours after I do my second moisturizing for the day) in the morning. And once I moisturize it in the morning it feels pretty good throughout the day til I moisturize it again at night(which I don't really do til 5 p.m. or so). And honestly my hair feels rather soft regardless if it is dry or moisturized. I only ever noticed any real tangles was when my hair was longer(collar length) and I was doing twist and tuck styles. To which I didn't properly de-tangle after I would take them down. But never really had any tangles when I was relaxed. And even at the 2 month mark right now I haven't really experienced any tangles if my hair is thoroughly wet and I use a good amount of product(time will tell I am sure). But anyway, I appreciate all these in-depth videos on the different porosity types. Even if I'm still slightly confused about it all. I find this to be a lot easier to figure out than the strand test. I've tried that twice and still wasn't sure about anything other than the fact that for hours my strand was NEVER sinking to the bottom of the water, lol.
Very informative video on medium porosity hair! I struggle to find information on normal porosity hair, and my hair is a mixture of low to normal porosity. Looking forward to the next video on those of us that have a mixture of porosities on our heads.
Hi. I'm on the mature side but i know very little about many things concerning my hair..except how weak it is and i feel like im a bit unsure about my hair porosity too, but like you said-it's a journey to find out. i'm here for it. Thank you sooooo much. You are a real gem!!!!
I was always confused about which porosity I had. I have tight shrinkage but my hair dries out fast. After watching this I now see that I have medium porosity.
Thank you for explaining to me about the different types of hair. My hair was thin and now I care for my hair, a lot it is growing thick. I always listen to my hair. I use a good moisturiser and oil. Its work for me. I don't tell anyone what to use because they will finger it out themselves. My hair has always retain moisture, even though its has thicken, it still remains moisture.
My hair does tangle, even though it is medium porosity. So I don't know. I think it depends on the moisturizing properties of the conditioner. That is why, when buying regular drugstore conditioners, I always go for the ones for dry, and damaged hair, even though my hair is none of those, as they are the most moisturizing and detangling on the market. I find it works very well for me.
Waiting for the multiple porosity vid!👏🏾 My front half behaves totally different than my back half! Then, I have a small 3rd leave-out section that I damage with weaves and flatirons and now my hair is all over the place!😫 I have 3 different sections that all respond to heat, products, styling and water differently! They also have different curls moving from 4a in the back (longest), 4b middle (medium), 4c front (shortest due to damage). Thanks for your wonderful information!
i love your channel ! You're 1 of the few youtubers that break down the science of black hair. I have a question... since high porosity hair dries out quickly would you say that using mineral oil/ petroleum would be a good option to combat it ? I've been a bit of a natural hair Nazi since beginning this hair journey and always stayed away from mineral oil & such. My hair is now high porosity (Used to be low porosity before I started dying my hair) and it dries out super quick ! On a wash day my hair barely drips, and before I'm half way done twisting it I need to add water. I started adding Blue magic herbal hair grease in my regimen & my hair stays soooo soft & moisturized that I can go dayyyyss without moisturizing. I only use it to seal my hair & don't use any other products that contain it. I've used solely oils & butters in the past but the oils wouldn't keep it moisturized as long and the butters left a bunch of buildup on my hair that would leave a ring of greasiness in the tub, yuck ! So my question is, is mineral oil/ petroleum etc safe/ healthy to use in moderation ?
BTW.. You and your hair is gorgeous and every BW dream. Been loc'ed for decades and still unclear on L/M/H. Will big chop before end 2019, Your videos will heighten my learning curve how to take care of my loose natural hair, and I'm looking forward to the experience. Thank you so very much for making these informative and 👁 catching videos. As many, I'm here for the long haul. ❤️
My mom was right...I got a buzz cut 8 months ago...it’s nearly shoulder length now, and I’m a lazy AF natural but it grows long and thick regardless..thanks for this, I’m halfway to understanding my hair..I get moisture but I lose it quickly too..
If your hair isn't naturally high porosity, does your new growth grow low or normal porosity? Or does it come out of your roots high in porosity. Basically my question is, if I chopped off all my hair and regrew it without using heat products or chemicals, would I still grow out hair high in porosity??
When it grows out, it will grow in its natural porosity you just need to be patient when it grows you can find out which porosity it is with some tests find them on green beauty channel
thanks for these videos on porosity. I find it so helpful as I was confused before. I knew the facts but didn't understand fully. I have low porosity in the back, high in the middle & balanced at the front & sides. lol.
Now this is it! Yay! I'm medium porosity. That's why I can use my own standard routine, relaxed or natural, with minimal or no damage. I like that. I finally know what to do. My hair is drier in my current climate but it's still growing like crazy. Hallelujah lol
I recommend others to, use cold-pressed, unrefined, purely natural extra virgin coconut oil on your hair for an hour as a treatment for hair growth, healing, fighting heat damage and/or overall for recovery of hair damages onto your hair! If it's left for even more than an hour... even better to be honest, start slow though. I do it by ie, applying 6 to 8 scoops of it onto a bowl, applying little by little onto a section, combing it through, then braiding it, all up until my hair is completely drenched in it's oil & combed + braided. Then gather it all, bun it, place a plastic bag on it, clean up & allow an hour for the treatment to do it's magick. • Use natural, clarifying shampoos (do 2-3 washes as necessary to remove the oil out). And feel free to deep condition with a protein & moisture deep conditioning mask, or a regular conditioner in the end as preferred. Style as usual- Less is more; let your hair breathe. These are healthy habits to always incorporate into your haircare regime :) it'll always work for you.
So I'm also one of those confused. When I did the water test my hair didn't sink, I tried it 3x. I did the feel test and my hair strands were mostly smooth but it did have areas it felt a little rougher. My hair tangles easily and has trouble keeping moisture in my hair. My hair will turn into an afro by end of day and be very frizzy (could be heat damage ?). It'll be damp at most for a day. I have very dry scalp and once when a hair dresser put grease in my hair I looked like a wet dog for awhile. My hair needs to be soaking wet in order for products to really work & distribute through my hair. When I do half up and half down. My half down part is Frizzy but not too bad however my half up looks very dry and loses its curly pattern. My roots/crown area are always frizzy and lose its curl when dry . I see water droplets on my hair when I wet it. I don't think my hair likes heavy oils and when I use lightweight products it likes it but doesn't do enough to keep my moisture. My hair is 3c/4a (around the crown and back area of my head). It's very dense and just too much hair for me handle sometimes. When my hair is straight I don't need oils and my hair looks and feels very soft. Clarifying shampoos are too much for my dry scalp. I feel like I have high porosity (or it can be heat damage or lack of me properly caring for my hair). But it seems I also have signs of low porosity. I feel like I don't have medium bc its not exactly healthy just yet.
My hair is color damaged, it absorbs water and products very easily and takes forever to dry. My hair shrinks up to me ears, when stretched it makes it down my neck and the length all together reaches my collarbone. My hair tangles and loses it's style within a few days unless I refresh it. I need to watch out on oils because that just sits on my hair. Please help me figure out my porosity.
I definitely have medium porosity. but I put highlight in my hair and these strands behave differently and have higher porosity. looking forward to the next video
Thank u for this. Based on the videos I'm somewhere between medium n high porosity, while 1 daughter is medium. This will help me take care of her hair n mine. Wish I knew this before I had children ao I could take care of they hair, but in glad to know this now while there young
Can you do a video on why some people's hair is only healthy and long in the back, but the front is weaker and will not grow as long. Great video as usual!!
I can kinda explain this. naturally hair grows longer in certain sections of the head. hair doesnt grow uniformly or perfectly. also, breakage is high in the front because of styling so hair will most always be shorter in the front and it sees the most tension from hair styles and even simply wrapping up your hair. my hair naturally grows alot slower in the front which i believe is a part of my genetics and just being a human. think about how men have male pattern baldness, hair follices aren't as strong and resilient in the front as they are in other parts of your head. hair for me is most dense in the center of my scalp. I hope this helps some.
Jolie 44 if you live in a place where it’s always hot, the front will be more prone to being damaged. Also you sleeping style can have some effect on that. I’m not a professional, just going based off my experiences.
Hi! Ok, I've been watching these vids on porosity (I love your videos btw) and I'm STILL not sure where my hair falls... One question - does having permanently colored hair automatically mean you are high porosity?
Yes, I suggest you treat your hair like its high to medium porosity if it's color treated. That way you stay on top of it so it does become damaged over time.
Well I'm so confused my hair sucks the water easy but it take alot of time to dry. It gets frezy when I get out the door and some of the hairstyle do stay together for a bit but other don't. HELP WHAT PEROSITY DO I HAVE!! IT SEEMS MY HAIR HAVE A MIND OF ITS OWN. Sorry for my bad English.
I think my hair used to be low and became increasingly normal because I used to have crazy single strand knots, hair that took forever to saturate when I washed it, product build up on my scalp, and stayed in a style for about Week with little humidity factor. now my fair gets wet at a good rate, single strand knots are much rarer, humidity affects my hair more, as my style only lasts about 2-3 days (3 days with gel) but I'm still unsure at times.
GreenBeauty I have medium porosity, which I’m not complaining about but.....my crown. 😩 My crown section is so tough it almost seems like it could be course. The rest of my hair is fine to medium size. It is the crown section that’s making my hair journey not so good. Do you have any advice for me?
Maybe cause I'm still really new to being natural. But what exactly do you do to get a wash and go? I mean I think I saw a video of it once or twice but it still confuses me. You wet the hair, add conditioner, and then you shake your head and then pin it or something?
I did have difficulty keeping moisture, but since I've been using blue magic and keeping my hair in twists, my hair stays moisturized for days! I went from high porosity to something else. I barely hear youtubers talk about balanced porosity.
Hi, I'm somewhat new to your channel and I was hoping you could do a video on the "greenhouse effect" and whether it actually makes your hair any healthier.
It's Jade - that's one hair characteristic you can look at to determine your hair's Porosity. If it's almost impossible for your hair to hold a twist out pattern, that's a good indication that your hair may be on the higher end of the Porosity line. Start there and over time try to observe other characteristics to confirm it.
I'd love to see a video about henna vs protein treatment...I know henna isn't a protein, but it kinda acts like one, right? Aside from the coloring difference, is one better?
And another weird observation? When I was living in the south my hair was responding as if it was high porosity, however when I moved to the southwest my hair is back to low porosity. Not sure if its the water or what but Im staying in the southwest honey!
All I know is that my hair keeps tangling and it's annoying so I've decided to put it in braids, it has been a little over 10 months since I last cut my hair. I'm growing it out but it comes with it's challenges. I love my natural hair but sometimes I wish my hair was less curly 😭😭😭 if anyone has any tips on how to maintain short natural hair please share with me .
I have low porosity hair. It's becoming a hassle to keep it moisturized and adding heavy crems everyday isnmaking my hair greasy. I know increasing my hair porosity to medium would make it easier to handle, but I'm paranoid about damage raising my hair to high porosity. I already had to deal with that when my hair ws color treated. I'm not sure if I can do it again. :(
I'm still a little confused. I don't know which category to put my hair in. And I think, but not sure that I have different porositys on different sections of my hair. I'm experiencing breakage and split ends(which is something I experienced when i was relaxed). The back of my hair seems drier than the front(they are two different curl patterns). I have single strand knots and my hair has always tangled easily. Even after detangling during deep conditioning. I have to do it again before styling. I have highly dense hair in the back. I just feel like I'm every where. My hair takes a long time to dry bc it's so thick.
My hair takes in moisture very easily, but doesn’t leave quickly, If I shower in the morning my hair will stay wet throughout the whole day, do I have medium porosity?
Can someone link me the video where she talks about multiple hair porosity on different sections of the head? I struggle with this and have been waiting forever for someone to talk about it.
Idk why I laughed so hard when her hair shrunk lol...can relate tho. You do an awesome job with these videos!! I need you awarded...who do I contact lol
my hair sounds both like low and medium porosity but more like medium porosity. I think i have more or less balanced my low porosity . the things i have noticed about my hair is that it takes 2 days to fully dry and it skrinks extra skrunken. But when i stretch it i don't need to use heat to stretch it and my braidouts can last a full week without rebraiding(i was sooo suprised when i eventually decided to see if it would work and it did). What do you think Green Beauty? oh and my hair has minimal to no single strand knots
I have a lot of high porosity traits but a few low porosity traits. Like for instance my hair dries slowly but is not low porosity. It gets tangled fast and looses its moisture quickly and breaks easily so to me it must be high but due to the fact when I wet it, it stays wet longer has me knowing that it’s medium since I share similar traits with both.
I agree. My hair takes long to dry which is a sign of high but I've noticed a lot of high porosity videos and youtubers say they hair gets dry fast while mind doesnt. It usually can last till 3 days by which on the third day it feels dry but not to dry where i have to moisturize it quickly. But i also think it could be low cause when its wet with no product it shrinks A LOT. (It also tangles easily and usually has little knots which are also a sign of high porosity)
in all honesty, I'm still confused about my porosity
Angie Wilder omg me too
Angie Wilder sadly but same 😭
NotWrong OrRight we will get there someday lol
Angie Wilder I have a theory that medium porosities must teeter between high and low depending on products, practices, climate, etc.
Jessica DeAnna thanks. These things can be confusing
This porosity thing is confusing.

You need to use protein treatments if that’s the case. You need to balance out moisture and protein.
My hair is the exact way. But it's so hard to find the right product for it tho because it can use both high and low porosity products.
You are so right about the hair typing system. The information you share on medium porosity is great. My oldest daughter's hair does exactly what you said. Her hair grows with little effort, butt length in 5 years. Holds moisture well and tangles not as much

GreenBeauty ? My ends is puff and feel rough. When wet it only puff up so....so should I do another big chop?

I just found out I have both high & low porosity hair, but not medium. My hair absorbs products very slowly, tangles easily, create single strand knits easily, has tight shrinkage, & puffs out of my desired style very quickly after the hair has been styled etc. Thank you for this vides as it's confirmed my suspicions.
So what do you with it because I feel like I'm the same
We must do it all 😂😂😂
Always love your work!
I've tried that twice and still wasn't sure about anything other than the fact that for hours my strand was NEVER sinking to the bottom of the water, lol.
am i the only one who started dying laughing at 3:20....so many days like that i had!
Very informative video on medium porosity hair! I struggle to find information on normal porosity hair, and my hair is a mixture of low to normal porosity. Looking forward to the next video on those of us that have a mixture of porosities on our heads.
I think i have balanced....cause all the things that you mentioned can sometimes happen to me..stil confused lolll help me pls!
Theresa Boateng lol right!
@@jasminematilda just wanted to ask since it's been awhile have you found products and balance within your hair?
I trust your videos for the correct information. I even share them on FB forms
Girl I want to thank you for your great video about stretching. My twist out never looked so good. You are truly doing God's work out here. 💜
What would my hair type be if it takes long to absorb water but it dries really fast? Thank you for making these awesome videos!
My hair is the exact same!!! Lol so happy someone else is noticing that
My hair does tangle, even though it is medium porosity.

There’s not as many videos for medium porosity. This was great information.
Thank you so much for dropping the knowledge of hair
porosity😀
Thank you so much for sharing....your videos are so informational 👍🏾👍🏾😍😍😊🤗
I love your videos! So informative and help me understand what is going on! Love it! Thank you!
My normal porosity hair is super frizzy. What can I do to help it?
Can you do a video on heat damage on natural hair? The science behind it and what heating tools would cause heat damage and so forth? Thank you ❤️
Yay! I strongly believe i have balanced porosity. Great video!
I learn a lot from your videos even though i don't hv natural hair.
How do u maintain this porosity level? My hair use to be high and now it medium...I would like to keep it that way
My hair shrinks immediately I step out yet it tangled easily I get single strand knots and I lose moisture easily🌚🌚🌚I’m so confused
It seems like everybody has either low or high porosity. like is there anyone with normal porosity??
I definitely have medium porosity. but I put highlight in my hair and these strands behave differently and have higher porosity. looking forward to the next video
Wow you cleared up so much confusion for me. Thank you!
Thanks for you informative videos! Would by chance be willing to do on wooden combs and brushes? Is it any different than other combs and brushes?
This is very informative and has helped me understand hair porosity a little more
Thank u for this.
Very interesting. I can't wait for the next video!
So I guess I'm low to medium. Pretty sure the roots and ends of my hair are low and the middle shaft is medium. Thank you!
Great video - I seem to be lower porosity. Keep those videos coming😀
Thank you!!! it's like you took the word right out of my thoughts😃
GIRL YOU ARE A GENIUS!
You are an excellent communicator
I believe my hair is medium in porosity. Wheww this feels right, finally.
Is there anything for hair that's hard to define?? I feel like the only person on earth who cannot where a "wash and go"
Malikah Glitter you're not the only one. Wash and go's aren't for everybody
I can't do wash and go's either. I'm still confused on my low medium or high porosity
Alike Cooper this could be based on product and technique and also where you live. Not just porosity.
Maybe cause I'm still really new to being natural. But what exactly do you do to get a wash and go? I mean I think I saw a video of it once or twice but it still confuses me. You wet the hair, add conditioner, and then you shake your head and then pin it or something?
I can't do a twist out without my hair looking mop 😟
Great use of hair examples in this video...
I did have difficulty keeping moisture, but since I've been using blue magic and keeping my hair in twists, my hair stays moisturized for days! I went from high porosity to something else. I barely hear youtubers talk about balanced porosity.
I dont know if I have high or low all I know is my hair loves glycerin but also loves apple cider vingar.
this is a great video! it could be shown as a tool in a cosmetology class!
Hi, I'm somewhat new to your channel and I was hoping you could do a video on the "greenhouse effect" and whether it actually makes your hair any healthier.
Thandi Ganya she has a video in it I think, an old video on why she stopped doing it and she goes into it.
So would testing how long a twist out lasts in my hair be an accurate test to see which porosity level I'm at?
It's Jade - that's one hair characteristic you can look at to determine your hair's Porosity. If it's almost impossible for your hair to hold a twist out pattern, that's a good indication that your hair may be on the higher end of the Porosity line. Start there and over time try to observe other characteristics to confirm it.
Green Beauty Channel ™ Thank you for replying!! I'll be sure to try and monitor it.
Can you please do a video on protein overload and sensitivity?
is it true that Clay could make low porosity hair medium, and even high in porosity?
Love your videos. They are always very informative. I believe the hair typing is really lacks value. Great job once again.
Wondering. Does the onion treatment help improve porosity over time?
I have low porosity hair. It's becoming a hassle to keep it moisturized and adding heavy crems everyday isnmaking my hair greasy. I know increasing my hair porosity to medium would make it easier to handle, but I'm paranoid about damage raising my hair to high porosity. I already had to deal with that when my hair ws color treated. I'm not sure if I can do it again. :(
Does Medium Porosity mean that you kinda have both Porositys Low& High? Because i have naturally tight Curls in the back and loose Curls at the Top.
Yep next video should be great coz my Crown area don't play 😒 I can't be slipping with that section SMH
Am very low porosity!!! What do l do to make It at thick and healthy. Thank you.
How do you feel about sulfates and silicons on hair?
So does this mean that humidity does not affect low porosity hair? Bc I believe my hair is low porosity but is affected by humidity
It gets tangled fast and looses its moisture quickly and breaks easily so to me it must be high but due to the fact when I wet it, it stays wet longer has me knowing that it’s medium since I share similar traits with both.
heeey, I am new to your channel. Was wondering if you could do a video on green house effect
i think im medium high
Maegan Trice
Medium low high😭.
I airdry so fast and tangle and shrinks easy
Me too
