I don't travel often but to make it easier I leave a list inside of my luggage while stored. It makes it much easier to know every item I need to take with me for that particular size luggage.
Those cubes are cool! From my military days, Ranger Rolls" are what I use for most of my clothes except for the dress shirts of which I fold them like you showed. With dress pants, it keeps wrinkles away as well.
Great packing advice! Unfortunately the weight limit in Australia and many other airlines for carry-on is 7kg, so no matter how well you pack the items, it doesn’t take much to exceed that limit!
Even though my weekly business travel days are behind me I love this. When I was traveling all the time I actually developed a training course for people on how to handle DFW airport. Life gets easier and better when you put some thought into what you're doing and I can always spot the pros in any airport. Sending this to my son who is a traveling consultant. He's one of the smartest people I know but watching him pack just makes me shake my head.
Haha! Thanks Mike!
Within a day or two after I come home from a trip, I go through my dobb kit and assess what I may need to replenish. Restocked, I put the kit back in my suitcase as a signal it’s been refreshed. It doesn’t go back into my suitcase until it’s been refreshed. That way I don’t have to second guess if I’ve completed the task. 😉👍🏻. And yes, packing cubes are a MUST. 😉👍🏻
Good one Rob!
algo cat in a box bump .... favourite item i've never travelled without since I figured it.... ear plugs.
Very useful video. I will try to roll instead of folding my shirts, T-Shirts, and pants, and to use packing cubes.
One suggestion : shoe bags are great! I always travel with two pairs of shoes, just in case it's raining, and if you are walking a lot, it's nice to change your shoes after a long day.
Absolutely! Shoe bags are a fantastic addition.
The tips on folding your clothes are great! I liked the one about placing dress trousers over jeans and folding them together. I should think that minimizes wrinkles on the dress pants. I’m gonna try it.
Thanks for watching George!
This video along with the one on how to fold a suit are great. Actually just purchased packing cubes for the next trip. Thanks for the tips.
You’re welcome Dale! Thanks for watching!
The glasses case hack, Brilliant!!
Thanks for watching Joseph!
I travel a fair amount and it’s always good to hear tips and hacks that others use.👍🏻🙏😎
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Thanks very much for the packing ideas. I used them a week ago on a trip and was surprised at how much I could pack and be organized. Rolling shirts is a great idea.
On the return trip, I even rolled the dirty clothes so they would take up less space that being thrown haphazardly into a laundry bag.
I use compression cubes instead of packing cubes because compression cubes squeeze all of the clothes together which allows you to pack more clothes.
Those cubes save at least 30% real estate, much appreciated!
You’re welcome!
Great folding tips, I’m off on Holiday tomorrow so very timely.
Safe travels Matthew!
Good show. I've flown several times packing a carryon similar to yours with the addition of my formidable briefcase, either handholding it or using the shoulder strap. We can easily do this the same as the ladies towing their carry-on plus their purse. ...At check-in if you're challenged citing that you've 2 carry-ons then very kindly remark how all the females by definition only have a single carry-on plus a purse...and you're the male equivalent in the same good stead.
Yeah, it’s one carry-on and one personal item.
I LOVE that carry on. Your channel is becoming dangerous to me wallet😆! We have a trip planned nxt week so these pointers come at a great time. 😃The eye glass case hack is genius. Definitely looking into packing cubes too. Absolute LEGEND! ✌
Thanks for watching Rose!
For each day of a trip I pack
2 underwears per day. I shower twice per day
2 tshirts per day 1 of them must have buttons.
Pair of socks for every other day
2 light sneakers, a slip on dress shoe to dress up a bit with one of the button shirts I packed
A black and a dark blue pair of jeans and 2 pairs of shorts if needed for warm weather
2 decants or very small colognes along with hair clippers stuffed inside shoes.
For the wrinkles I hang out the clothes that I’m gonna wear for that day in shower so hot steam fixes that or ask for an iron if available
Thanks John.
Legend John great video. You are so right with packing. Be versatile with your outfits and make sure you can interchange and be efficient. The only female I knew who was good at this was my ex-wife. And that's because she traveled for a living with her job. Good practical pointers!
Thanks Robert!
Great tips John! I will try some of packing tips when I go home for Christmas - Cheers!
Thanks for watching Chris!
i love Carl Friedrik luggage.

Christopher. Barker
Thank you very much Christopher!
What packing tubes do you use?
I use the ones from Carl Friedrik.
Very nice looking bag. Also, great sunglass case hack.
Thanks for watching!
Has anyone ever forgot their lock combination? I forgot mine recently and don’t know how to reset it, can anyone help me?
Great video as someone who travels a lot, some good tips in here. :) Thanks Jon
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
Legend John great presentation my man great 👍 ideas.
Have a great weekend.
Thanks Alex!
Cologne, Deodorant, etc in a carry on? Recommendations for getting around the 2 oz limit or whatever it is.
TSA requirements allows 9, 3.4 oz containers of liquids.
Hello John, how are you? Don't know why I have not been getting your videos. Good to see and Merry Christmas to you and yours. Stay safe
Turn on notifications Greg! :)
Damn John. That carry on looked amazing. Have a great weekend! #legend
Thanks Eric!
Stunning bag.
Agreed!
I travel a lot -- love the folding tips. However, I've never tried the cubes. Seems like just more stuff to fill your bag. What's wrong with just packing everything in there and not wasting space with cubes?
Personal preference I suppose. It’s nice having everything all together and it doesn’t really add any additional bulk. It’s nice because you can take the cubes straight out of your suitcase and put them in the drawer at the hotel.
got one with discount, super nice
Geez it's Thursday already??? I need those cubes!
Game changer!
The case is more expensive than the trip!
Watching this 12 days after it was posted and the discount code is invalid..
How do you carryon toiletries? Dope kit won’t allow more than 30ml liquids
TSA allows 9, 3.4 oz containers of liquids.
Discount code seems to have expired. Sigh.
The discount code doesn’t work
code doesn't work?
hi john just started watching your channel .iam not liking it as iam spending aload of money on new items to improve my look .🤣🤣thankyou for your advice all the best from england
Ha! Thanks for watching John!
I bought the CF carryon and promptly returned it. For the price, the handle is terrible. Cheap and wobbly as hell. Something you’d find on the cheapest luggage. It’s a shame because the rest of it seemed too-notch.
Going back to all the UA-cam reviews I watched on it I realized that NOBODY mentioned the handle. It’s often not what these sponsored/affiliates reviews say, but what they leave out. I will say this for CF, their customer service is great and the return was easy and painless. Interesting though that when I gave the return reason as “wobbly handle”, there was no “oh, maybe it’s defective”. Seems they might know their handle is kinda crappy.
Wow - I'm first to comment
