I've always loved this song, I listen to it when I'm feeling down, and it somehow gives me this sense of company. I've been listening to it since I was 15 (nearly 20 now), and I listened to it yesterday and I got curious to see what other people thought of it, but its disappointing to see that everyone isn't commenting on the song and what it means to them, but instead criticizing each other...
I totally understand. I know this comment is quite old but these are my thoughts. for me, growing up with this song I always connected it to love. Always feeling like I needed that someone who would complete me. it always drove me to keep trying in hopes I'd find the one. of course I'm way beyond that now and am quite satisfied with who I've become as a person. now I believe this song is about overcoming one's dissatisfaction with themselves, thinking they need to be someone else rather than themselves, or disliking the way they currently see them selves and wanting change, but can never get over themselves out of fear of losing something they know and are comfortable with. change is scary and to be frank I didn't like who I was when I listened to this song back then. But I was scared of change because all I ever knew back then was self loathing. Now. Coming back after many years, after experiencing things i havent before, all i can say is sometimes the things we need is a reality check to show us our true values.
I wouldn't apologise to them for praising God, if they get offended, then we know the message is working on them. it's called convictions of the heart ^-^. what is in the heart is what comes out of your mouth, if your heart is full of hate then so will your words be. But blessed is the man who shares his good news with others.
Incredible, music still is the strongest way to make some of the more enthused even more passionate! Thank you Relient K for inspiring me to be one of the next big artists! I love Jesus and he and his will always be in my heart and soul, BLESS YOU ALL!
I had never really gotten into Relient K, and I don't know why. I had only heard Be My Escape, Must've Done Something Right, and Who I am Hates Who I've Been. But then I listen to thiis and I've absolutely fallen in love with them.
I like this band cause most of their songs sound good, like most bands, but their lyrivs are really clever. They don't just sound good like most bands, they actually have alot of meaning. =)

Considering that they are a Christian band, it probably is, but you can take it however you'd like. Just because they may have intended it as a song for God, doesn't mean you can't see it as a song for someone else.

Oh, yeah I missed that. The Bible doesn't even use the "homosexual" word in the original text (I think only really mentions something similar). It depends on the translation you use, but the english versions with that word are not correct.
