Our favorite boss is back and finally gets to be represented better in Elden Ring than in Sekiro as he was a joke, finally he won't fall of a cliff anymore.
I mean those are just cheap methods to cheese him or speedrun the game. I never had an instance in the boss fight when it happened by error. As long as you don't try to purposely lead him all the way off a cliff by climbing on ledges, the boss works just as it should be.
I mean for being the first boss besides Lady butterfly(depending on your progression) he was solid not hard but enough to punish you if you arent taking him for full and most importantly fun

I spent 6 hours trying to beat this boss without healing and I was getting frustrated and angry and stopped for a few minutes then I saw this video Thanks to you I was able to defeat him after 3 tries after watching your video 😃
I had no idea that jump attacks dealt so much stagger damage. I just beat this guy myself today, so I came to watch the video, and it's crazy how differently the fights went. I had to play so slow and patient, and ONGBAL just... demolished him.
Struggled against him for 2hrs until I gave up, sneaked past him, progressed and got my horse. Finally took him down while riding. Hit and run, it's a scummy way but as long as I win idc.
As long as it's not cheating through mods or hack or whatever it's fair game. Especially in an open world one so. Plus u can easily overlevel a lot of your problems in soulslikes also which is pretty much the point in ER, explore and get stronger.
It’s actually fun killing him riding, making the battle more interesting when both of you are on horses. On top of that I summoned spirits of wolves to support me lol

Come on, the game was released 24 hour ago and this boss took me ages, summons and the horse. At this point this man is just flexing he's very existence among mortals.
@@marcoleung311-v7j It's not about the s. He in numeous cases rolled then did a jumping r2 on the boss. Instead he could have just jumped over the attack and do the r2 while falling. This not only would have saved stamina spent on rolling but since the r2 came much sooner he could have followed up with and r1 or even r2 before the boss recovered. And there is also the factor that since bosses often move forward as well, forward rolling will often cause you to move past each other then you have to get back at them (though this might partly be due to him fast rolling which covers more distance).
This guy feels like a mix of Gyoubu and Dragonslayer Armour, as he is on horseback and has the weapon (kinda) as Gyoubu, but ye also has a shield that he can attack with similar to DA. Also he has gold armour so ...
Imagine being a literal mini-boss with a golden armour and a horse on steroids, and a naked guy with a club beats you up and sends you home crying to Papa Miyazaki
Who would win? An imposing knight wearing impressive golden armor while riding an armored horse and wielding both a giant halberd and a massive golden shield, or one naked madman with a wooden club?
Miyazaki: epic fights guaranteed. Players: speed running the whole game almost buttnaked. Spectators: secretly enjoy how the butt cheeks stand out throughout the entire fight.
Pretty sure I spent 5 hours before I took his ass down. I saw him first thing when I got out of the grave, and refused to do anything - level up, find more gear, get summons, Torrent, anything - until I took his ass down. Probably took me over 100 attempts, if not 150.
@@Ptolemeian i saw i think ratatoskr stating that hes kind of there to teach u that u dont HAVE to fight him now and can come back once ure stronger to get u used to the new, less linear experience that elden ring provides. still my ds player honor commanded me to take him down before doin anything else haha
omg my sekiro refeflxes are going to fail me on this one, i unconciously think of pressing L1 everytime it attacks because how similar it moves to gyoubu has

It probably does block from that side while he's neutral or running, but not during an attack? If I had to guess, anyway...
Well the player gets hit despite wearing a shield if they are not actively blocking with it so it's only fair.
the shield part is his weakness
This opens new possibilities for me, finding out you can hit him hard on his shield side.
The most amazing thing about this video is that there's no constant massive frame drops.

But I feel like they also reduced the poise damage on regular attacks as a compensation, so I probably need some getting use from the good old R1 spam

Whenver I see ONGBAL defeat a boss my skill increases to 50%
Consider jumping over low attacks. It works and you get a free punish.

nah using jumps to avoid attacks is clunky, just roll and only use jumps against aoe ground slams
