The track "Ark" is definitely the best Palace theme. The addition of the propaganda makes it perfect and helps hide the only real downside to the track: that's it's a 90 second loop. I think it's the shortest looping song in the game.
While I very much enjoy this palace's theme, I'd have to say that I personally liked Kaneshiro's palace theme more. (The upper levels, the depths were kinda underwhelming IMO).
Kamoshida's palace theme is underrated. So smooth and jazzy, I feel bad for liking it since of how awful Kamoshida is. The worst palace theme in my opinion is Madarame's.
It's pretty clear that the song was made after the japanese dub, and the VO of the english dub followed the cadance of the japanese dub. The song itself is paced in a way so that the speech compliments the music. The speech itself doesn't need to be synched with the track because the beat of the song and the pace of the speech are the same.
What's funny in his speeches is that he never speaks about how he will change society. He just does promises and all-talks, but never explain concretes mesures to change the country for the better. This is perfectly represented by the speakers cutting right at the moment Shido speaks about his program. And what's really scary is that people don't care, everyone accepts that and only cares about Shido's image, that he looks "intelligent and dedicated to the country". Nowadays, not enough people care about the politicians' mesures, most of them just care about their image and their fame, and just like Persona shows, it could lead many countries to ruin.
Every line here is actually taken from clips previously heard clips from various parts where he's seen campaigning. The reason is line about what he plans to do is cut off is bc, iirc, the Thieves are only barely overhearing him and Ryuji is complaining about how loud he is. That being said, Shido never saying his promises is pretty on point.
This song has the leitmotif for "Tokyo Daylight" ( ua-cam.com/video/1GBciQVf_PI/v-deo.html ) In Tokyo Daylight, the leitmotif is sung, symbolizing how it's the everyday life of a normal person As for Shido's palace, it is played by a majestic violin, showing how he sees himself as higher than anyone else This brilliantly shows how he is disgusting enough to think of himself as the ruler of Tokyo
That’s a great discovery! The conclusion I came to was that Shido will control the everyday life of the people. This and TD as we know both symbolizes everyday life, and since Ark came after TD, it’s almost as if Ark stole its leitmotif, like it’s taken control and morphed it into its own.
Tokyo daylight also has lemotifs from Futaba’s palace, which I find really interesting. I’d imagine it’s because she thinks that all of society is against her
My cousin came by while i was going through this palace and heard this, the combination got him interested and since than, he's getting into the Persona Series.
the fact that the speech loops constantly implies (at least for me) that he says the same thing over and over in every speach he does and he is just full automatic when he talks, like saying that has become his daily routine and is way scarier when you remember that this dude who doesn't even care of what he saying is becoming a president
With the propaganda blaring along to the beat, it reminds me of the arrangement version of The Deva Yuga theme in Persona 1 and it makes me grin so much
I like how the main theme is literally a distorted version of the "improvised song for the next prime minister" Just adds that little extra layer of meaning into shidos cognition
This was for me the second best palace of the game. The outside being Japan in utter ruin and yet this boat being the only thing that remains lavish and functional already sets the tone. All those on board being those who support him just cause it benefits them and not because they actually believe in him, along with his incomplete speech blaring in the main hall really just sets the tone for the kind of person you’re dealing with.
