    That ladder filter is legit.

    I had one in the late 80's. It had some mods including midi. The midi was terrible. It fired about 100 ms late. We had to move all the tracks forward to line it up. It was reliable enough for the studio. Live, forget it. It sounded GREAT. The unison mode would stack all 18 oscillators. Wow, that was phat!. It used to saturate in the coolest way. Really punchy and gnarly. I think they captured the vibe really well. I haven't heard any unison patches so I don't don't know how they did with that mode. Cool plugin.

      Nice!! I need to check out the unison mode. I definitely noticed this plugin has a nice thick fat sound from what Ive tested so far so unison is probably really nice. So far Im loving this plugin!

      @@ProdByThatGuyFace It's great for leads. Almost too much for bass unless there's no other low end on the track lol!!. We had tannoy monitors with 15's back then and it used to rattle the building in unison mode.

      Thats so funny you say that. Im making a unison lead right now and its amazing!!! The bass is definitely overwhelming. Kinda muffy in unison mode.

      @@ProdByThatGuyFace Yeah, it's only useful if you have room down there in the track. We used to roll off some of the low end to make it fit.

      Hey Bobby, Mitch from Cherry here. Memorymode unison goes beyond the original, because you it can be set from 2 to 16 voices (of course x3, so actually up to 48 oscillators!), and more importantly, we added a Unison Detune knob, so there's a wide range from subtle, to totally out of whack (and you'll want to combine this with the Drift knob that adds tuning randomness).

    An excellent, easy to follow introduction to this synth (best one actually!). Thanks!

    CPU hit? I can hear some popping in the audio?

    • @ProdByThatGuyFace
      @ProdByThatGuyFace  3 роки тому

      Actually no lol. Those crackles were from using OSC 3 as an LFO. Maybe thats true to the original idk. But you can always tell by activating the fx. If you notice when I turned on the reverb and delay it didnt crackle one bit, only when I activated the OSC 3 LFO. Maybe thats a bug they need to work out.

      I hear the crackle when the Echo is turned on.

      @@ProdByThatGuyFace yeah just bought it, CPU hit is ok but that crackle is present in some sounds for me too and usually when u first hit the first keys, probably needs an update

      @Unbard Gates What DAW? I noticed every since I updated to Live 11 the CPU management has gone way down! One plugin will max out my CPU. But in Studio 1 I can load the same patch automate every control and get NO clicks and pops whatsoever.

      @Phat Monkey What DAW?? I use Ableton 11 but the CPU management is terrible!! Im currently using Studio 1 for my reviews and I get no issues whatsoever. One plugin will start to max Live out which is extremely weird because Live 10 never had this issue.

    how does it compare to the legend?

    • @ProdByThatGuyFace
      @ProdByThatGuyFace  3 роки тому +2

      Great question! Two different sounds for sure. Both extremely rich but I haven't had enough time with memorymode to say just yet. Legend is definitely top 4 for me so its gonna be tuff. But I will say this, I got the same feeling I did when I first used the legend. Extremely easy to use and really fun to program!

      @@ProdByThatGuyFace I demoed memory and i got stuck jamming for an hour 🤣. I haven't programmed a patch for it yet. that'll be my selling point granted I know im going to buy it eventually.
