Love the mouse pointer at 4'38''. Great tutorial on top of that. You could add an additional layer of noise displacement to the initial point cloud as well, creating some horizontal line glitches, then you'll have a sci-fi hologram effect, Prometheus-like... ;) Well, combinations are infinite of course. Your mind is the only limit.
Really nice effect, subbed.I'm in a older version of TD any chance you can explain using the archballCamera instead of the cameravieport plz? Do you just replace everything inside the container and connect it to the out1?
It's almost the same. Create an arcball camera from palette. You don't need the whole container but just the camera inside. In parameters, arcball tab, just write the name of the main container (the one displayed in perform mode, for example). You probably need to activate middle click and right click on this panel. That's it.
I’ve been trying a lot over and over again to see if I am missing something, I got stuck in 3:00 when I import the cameraviewport in render2 everything turns black , I am kindly asking for your help
Sorry, I don't understand your issue. The firsts renderTops are using simple cameras (to create a pointcloud). The camera viewport should be use only for the last renderTop, to easily choose your point of view of the final result
Be careful. The first renderTop is just rendering the geo1, and the second renderTop, the geo2. If the these settings are incorrect, it creates a loop, indeed.
I've been trying to find a way to have the original 3d model "align" with the distorted TOP render. I want to have a sort of "pulse" fade-in/fade-out of the opaque original. However, I'm super stuck at getting them to align correctly. Do you have any tips?
Hey, I was trying and wondering, do you think it would be possible to set-up something like this with a Kinect v2 It can give you point cloud, but there doesn't seem to be space to make further adjustments as you did.
I'm not too sure why as I'm quite new to this but the point cloud instead of just forming points is drawing inf lines from the points, how is this stopped?
amazing tutorial!! man I got stuck when i was trying to set the "CameraViewpoint". In my touchdesigner, the palette only has a "Camera" instead of "CameraViewpoint", the function seems the same but there is no "Orthographic" option, also the screen didn't transform to vertical when I changed the "Panel Comp" to ". . ". I still followed the tutorial, link "Camera" with the "Render Top"+"Out Top". Suddenly my 3d object just vanished and only background left, nothing shows in "Out Top", "Camera" and "Render Top".

Your geometries are probably not seen by the camera, (out of sight) . Did you try to move /rotate the camera?
there is a way to make this on a fbx? i tried to make it but the render select dont show anything .
Of course you can! Be careful, the render buffers appears in render select top but have to be properly declared in the materials.

"cameraViewport" appears in 2022 TD versions. Instead, you can also use "arcballCamera" from previous versions.

Just after the fileInSop, use a transformSop to translate/rotate/scale your model.
