      Haha thanks mate, 70% is crazy, and I feel like I'm only giving 20% so far. I just hope I can quit my two jobs soon to dedicate myself to this 100%.

    Hey! Thanks for the tutorial. When I get to the step to change the scale in Transform - my output creates a "cat eye" type slit, instead of a shrinking circle...any idea what I've missed?

    • @OkamirufuV
      @OkamirufuV  2 дні тому

      It's possible that you scaled only the Y-axis and left out the X-axis.

      Try the echo function

    • @nathangorey8732
      @nathangorey8732 5 місяців тому +5

      This will get you a similar 4 second loop of the color changing circle with trail:
      Make a new comp (1920x1080), duration of 4 seconds, 60fps
      Create a black background by either making a solid (command + y), or making a shape layer with a black rectangle that covers the span of the comp
      Create a new shape layer with a circle, and center the circle in comp.
      Create some keyframes on the circle’s fill color (so there is a new color every ½ second, for example), and have the final keyframe color at the end frame be the same as the starting color on frame 1 (so it loops)
      Add a transform effect and add some keyframes to the scale property. Start at 100%, 1 second 0%, 2 seconds 100%, 3 seconds 0%, 4 seconds 100% (to create a loop)
      Add a second transform effect to the circle shape layer, translate circle away from center (200px to the right, for example)
      On frame 1 of the comp, create a keyframe on this second rotation property of the transform effect
      On last keyframe of comp, create a keyframe that creates one full revolution (1x +0.0 degrees). The circle will now make one full revolution around the center point of the comp in 4 seconds
      Add a Gaussian blur effect, uncheck maintain comp edges (not the exact wording, not at my computer). Dial in some blur to soften the edge of the circle (maybe 10-20?)
      Add an echo effect. Change the blend mode to maximum, or blend. Change the delay time to somewhere between -.02 and -.05. Number of echoes around 30, and decay between .6 and .9. Will have to play with it.
      You could also add a second Gaussian blur effect now to further soften the edges.
      Hope that helps, lengthy directions but really not that complicated once you set it up!
      By using transform effects on the layer, you still have the ability to use the layer’s native transform properties (position, scale, rotation) freely. You could do the same thing with a precomp, but in the event you want to composite/layer this method ends up being less CPU intensive as it’d be pulling from one instance of the echo FX chain.
