I'm so happy they did this. I saw Dweezil's band in Cleveland on a double bill with Return to Forever. Jean Luc Ponti was playing with Return to Forever. I thought for sure that at the end of the show they would all do Fifty Fifty...but alas, they did not, so this is finally fills that hole.
I saw them in Michigan on this tour and we were so so so hoping something like this would happen. How have I not seen this on UA-cam until now? I guarantee Frank is very happy this happened
JEAN LUC PONTY, LE FILS ET CHAQUE CONCERT DES NOUVEAUX TALENTS, DONNER UN GROUPE, "UN" QUI AUJOURD'HUI EST AUTANT REPRIS !!! AUCUN, NADA, NIET, WOUALLOU,
Dweezil does a fantastic job. Mounting ZPZ with all it entails is a world class show of love & respect from a son to a father. That it inspired Dweezil to do ZPZ is a strong testament to who Frank was. I'd like to see Dweezil include more of Franks sidemen. They're getting older. I saw The Grandmothers a couple of years back & they had polish & ...mustache. I think they'd add to how "genuinely FZ" the audience experiences the live music.. (not as guests brought on for a song, but as band members.) ...btw, saw the movie Eat That Question tonight. Recommended
Absolutely amazing, Zappa's son with the incredible Jean-Luc Ponty. What a gift
Frickin awesome!!! 💜
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!😘

I just might have something to say, to my friends
cool
sounds like Herbie Hancock on the Fender Rhodes piano.
Meno male che le mie orecchie sono ancora in vita
I wish Lancelotti did the vocals here. But as hard as he belted it out in the studio, that might have been a one time deal.
That type of singing will pretty much shred your vocal chords if you try to do it too much.

I gotta feeling Ricky did that long before 50/50.
That, or he has cast iron pipes.
Is that Chick Corea on keys? I read he and Jean made guest appearances on the 2011 tour.
I seen Chick play King Kong with Dweezil on this tour they did with return to Forever.
I was so afraid to watch a so young Frank ahead a so old Jean-Luc... just a bad dream..
Di meglio non c'è!
Tempo is too damn slow! Nice capture though.
Yeh Ralph Humphrey cut a mean groove w Frank. Returned to teaching I believe
It's totally OFF......
the ONLY guy his dad hated........
and you know that... how exactly? IIRC, JLP was on several tours.
@@johnmichael1594 Yes, I doubt that Mr. Zappa would have worked with anyone he didn't like. He had his choice of musicians to be around him.
Grok Effer And even they did have problems, time plus the greatness of FZ’s music (and JLP’s) heals a lot of things.
Yeah, I thought they had a falling out back in the late 70s or early 80s and didn't speak after that (?)
