Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland (Day Trip to Rotorua)

- There are so many various natural wonders in New Zealand so its almost impossible to visit them all. But when you want to see something really special, head out with me to Rotorua to visit the Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Area.
The whole region around Rotorua is extremely geologically active. There are no real volcanoes per se, but the ground around you is bubbling mud and boiling water almost everywhere and the smell of sulphur in the air is never really going away.
We will today explore one of the most charming natural parks in the area and while there is no geysir there, we will gasp in owe at the look at the otherworldly colours of the Champagne lake, the Devil's Bath or the poisonously green lake Ngakoro.
