I wanted to tell you you were a huge inspiration to me. This tutorial helped me 8 years ago to start developing the dream to start editing videos. I have multiple things I wanna do, but UA-cam poop was always one of them. I procrastinated a lot and now I'm 26 years old, but just in the past month and a half, I finally took the first steps to start making my own UA-cam videos and poops. I came back to this video to rewatch old advice and let you know that I still appreciate you and other poopers for being an inspiration. YTP is way different now than it used to be, but I still love it and can't wait to see more content from you.
MoBrosStudios: Using an AI voice based from the real voice actors or people is something that they say what they want by text to speech. But if you're going to use it in YTP or something you have to give permission & credit to people for their characters or persona. Otherwise, they might issue a copyright strike.
I could think of a dozen people who need this video. The really shitty part is that there are a lot of popular UA-cam poopers that make these mistakes and nobody calls them out on it. Our standard shouldn't be lowering at this point. Step it up guys!

Yes, this video was meant to cover basic techniques, so certain things were excluded. However, certain techniques were excluded also because I didn't have the same software I do now. For those of you asking about masking, that's only available in Vegas PRO (I used Movie Studio 9 for this). Other things, like creating vectors, I don't know how to do at all.
My first 2 YTPs where the worst, but once I watched this thing again, I got better and I met up with a guy I REALLY wanted to meet called *****. Thank you so much MoBros for this tutorial! I saw your other tutorial, and with genre, I stick with funny and random.
Pretty solid advice. I learned a lot from watching really good YTP videos (Waxinator is a great example, his videos are really well produced with good use of running jokes and references to other things). I also learnt a ton from bad Poops, too much looping has to be the worst YTP crimes. You can improve them a ton just by thinking of it from the perspective of a viewer, cutting down on annoying shit and trimming down some clips. "Brevity is the soul of wit", keep videos nice and tight. And it may sound obvious, but going from WMM to Sony Vegas improved my videos no end. You can do some really cool effects (again, in moderation)
If you use a Mac, the software that's the most like Vegas Pro is Apple Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Premiere Pro CC. I'm steadily improving my YTP techniques as described here; I just need to improve on unedited footage (I now try to keep it to a minimum of 10 seconds) laying off the SpaDinner stuff (and even there I seem to be using it less, trying out more sentence mixing and such.) Also, the lengths of my poops generally depend on the length of the source material I use. But in some ways I can improve; I can do a YTP of a 74-minute movie in 11 minutes or less.

Like with any art form, the "rules" of UA-cam Poop have to be learned and understood before they can be broken effectively. One time I saw a Peppa Pig YTP that was an episode where Peppa met Santa or something. All it was was really just the episode. Sometimes it'd make jump cuts to other parts, but the running gag here and the ONLY thing used was the text. It was the same thing every time, too. Whenever someone would say "Father Christmas," the text would try to correct them saying it's "Santa Claus," along with an "UGHH" and stuff.
As well as sentence mixing a character's voice, an ingenious method would be to use voices from the same voice actor's other roles to give the illusion of that character saying something you wouldn't normally hear them say.
