I had a self realisation during the whole covid lockdown here in Spain at the begining of the pandemic that I was an introvert who had been trying to be an extrovert for over 45 years 🤣 Now I am doing me with BTS and ARMY......finding BTS saved my mental health.💜
Hey I am in Spain too lockdown was tough! I always considered myself an extroverted introvert. I need quiet and recharging of my batteries. Everyone thinks I'm an extrovert, and have tons of friends, nope. I know a lot of people, very different things. I like my books, my coffee, my pets, my music, and a handful of people 😂 and now my spot on the couch 💜
I consider myself an ambivert: I LOOOVE books, movies and music (things you DON'T NEED to experience with anyone), but when you find the right person or crew... I'm as loud as the guys and have fun with everyone (everyone would mention Hobi, but any of them really xD)
I am FROM Spain, but don't live there since 2011. Congrats on making it through the 2020 lockdown!
@@shotglassoftear I totally agree with you. after discovering BTS and ARMY 3 years ago, I realised I was surrounded by people who were so negative and when we went in to lock down I found I was quite content to be on my own and I liked my own company (and my dog). I found I am surrounded by people who sap my energy or who thrive too much on drama. So now I keep my equilibrium with you guys on the couch.
@@naydenem It was wasn´t it,? it changed my whole life and I had to adapt quickly, I am a Mathematics Tutor and I had to switch quickly to online tutoring. but it also made me realise that I was quite content on my own. Your likes are the same as mine, with an added love of K drama. My students are also fantastic, the enthusiasm of youth is on a par with ARMY. I keep trying to convert them.

Honestly, I didn't know how my attitude should be: as a 65 year Army since 2016 or an old literature teacher? And I ended saying yhat, after a whole life lived I , for the first time, have become "a fan" of some artist 🎨! 1st time I've heared of BTS WAS , watching Taehyung's series drama HWARANG, a younger friend told me"You should listen HIS VOICE!" So I've looked for BTS and the 1st song I've found was 134340(Pluto) explained and I've been like "Waaaw!How is it posible that a pop music band to sing about the possible "feelings" that an ex-planet being explelled from the title as much as an idol , star be degraded from the star-title after a life when he/she has brought comfort in people's hearts? Is it fair to be forgotten "just like that"??? And FROM THAT MOMENT I UNDERSTOOD THOSE YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE ,REALLY, HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY AND TO TRANSMIT ‼️ Sincere advice : LOOK CAREFULLY TO EACH MEMBER'S SOLO ACTIVITIES‼️🥰💜⚜💚THEY ARE HUGE MEANINGFULL‼️#GAMSAHABNIDA ✌#BORAHAEYO💜⚜💚

Joons lyricism is insane… is all I can say.. and I love the topics he chooses to address, I love that he never backs away from deep topics and saying it how it is. I think my favourite phrase from the song is “nothin’s everything, everything’s nothin“ it’s almost like as a society we make such a huge deal about every little thing but none of it really matters in the end - so just do you. There’s so much wrapped up in that tiny little phrase really which is why I love it so much.

Different flows are different beat patterns/styles that change throughout a song, sometimes almost mid verse.
I'm not a rapper, but I watch a lot of reactions about rap and thats what I've come to understand it as.
Also note that he changes speed continuously too, sometimes mid verse as well, and thats very hard to do for most rappers. Joon has complete control over his cadence. He and Suga both have masterful control. Jhope has good flow control too, but RM and Suga have more experience which is just a fact, and their flow control is insane when it comes to change up in both beat and speed sometimes mid verse.

YAAAYYYYY you did it! 😄👍🙏 honestly RM's flow, cadence and word plays are out of this world. They are amazing as OT7 but when you listen to their mixtapes their individual styles shine through so much more. And Do You is just another gem in a box full of gems. I'm almost 50 and followed so many bands but I yet have to come across another artist whose discography (band, solos, subunits) all in all is so satisfying. BTS has not delivered one song that I dislike or hate. How on earth is that possible? I've got songs for each and every mood/emotion I feel. And their work as individuals and band ties in so perfectly well. In the end, it is always the same message they stand for expressed thru a variety of genres. Pure geniuses. 💜

Btw ARMYs have a "culture" of gift giving to interviewers, radio hosts, reactors, some singers BTS has collabed with that have shown respect and kindness to the members. Sometimes it may be a flower bouquet, others a donation on that public figure's name to their favorite charities, etc.
Not sure when it started, but it did because no matter how many ARMYs would request for it, BTS wouldn't get any or very few radio spins on the states since the DJs didn't want to play Korean music. So the fans started sending radio hosts small gifts of appreciation when they played BTS's music or to try and sway them to give the guys a chance.
This also ties in nicely with what ARMY means since it's an acronym - A. R. M. Y = Adorable Representative MC for Youth.
So gifts are now a way to kind of represent what BTS means to us; kindness, togetherness, that feeling of being a community and spreading a lil bit of joy to others. 😊

As to the talent in this group, it's a once in a life time convergence that was meant to happen. RM is a poet. Also some of you a so lucky to be able to walk into a shop and buy their merch, impossible in Australia. 💜🇦🇺

Nice to see you, Roscoe! Have you already decided on vocal line songs to watch? If not, maybe do a poll for your subscribers? Just tell us, what you're looking for - visuals/cinematography in a MV, deep/meaningful lyrics, impressive vocals/interesting musical style or a live performance with a wow factor (fellow Army may know what I'm thinking of)? It's difficult with the suggestions because some of their best work is on soundcloud, no MV, often no live either.
I was just thinking this is such a great idea then when I read what you said about SoundCloud I thought about the song bicycle and realised how Roscoe is probably going to die when he hears it 🤔😳 and then there’s the whole Mono… oh dear lord there’s just so much… and we haven’t even started talking about the vocal line yet 😂😅 but I do love your idea!

I never fit in during school years until I got to university and I found akin people (nerds who didn't necessarily went out every Saturday to drink, but rather go to the movies and back home, people who liked videogames, who shared interests in music...). And I never cared 2 f*s hahaha, and this has been pointed out a lot of times and I'm like "wysiwyg" :) I went to enroll the Air Force just because (of course many reasons, but truly) and stayed 3 years. Would have made it longer but I was itching whereas my colleagues didn't plan anything beyond building up seniority :|
I was as an exchange student at Tufts (Senior 2008) for 1 year and I remember getting some separate orientation for us Europeans... After a week I met another of the guys and he was "hey, where were you?" and I replied (no ill intention) "why you ask? we didn't come here together, why would I mingle with you more than with dorm mates and other exchange students or US people?", he was "whoa!... wait... you're right!" LOL we are good friends :P so yeah, do you.

In my opinion, different flows refer to the rhythm or cadence, rhyming sequence, and speed when rapping. In RM’s Joke, his flow switches are surreal as he can go from a fast paced roll, to a steady ebb and flow and then switch to a staccato double time without taking a breath and it all flows seamlessly. Suga does the same thing in Daechwita as he’s approaching the king’s palace he’s rapping fast with a purposeful flow and the next shot he’s tied up and blindfolded and rapping double time in a bouncy (yet wicked good) type flow. I realize the terms I’ve used are probably not rap-speak but it’s how I describe them so no critics please 😂
By the way “haters gonna hate, players gonna play” is a line Namjoon also says in Mic drop which you’ve definitely heard from beat saber and most definitely need to watch the mv for one of these days 😆 great reaction, hwaiting!

Hi Roscoe. First time commenting but I watched you from the first reaction you did of BTS. First of all it's wonderful to experience everything again with you on the couch. To answer your question about "9 different flows Namjoon has". During Joke Namjoon did switch his cadence a lot. I don't know the exact number but I'll trust the other army and say it was 9 haha. The reason I'm writing this comment is that most people who get into BTS usually attribute solo songs to a person singing them. And that's true with the rap line. But as you will be reacting to vocal line next week I just wanted to give credit where it's due. Namjoon can and has written songs in at least 9 different styles too to come back to the flow comment. If you blindly point to a BTS song it's almost guaranteed he had something to do with it. People usually recommend reacting to Jimins serendipity and V singularity (both of these songs are written and produced by Namjoon). Not to take away credit from the singers they do phenomenally on those tracks. Also I suggest watching Jins song epiphany (it's probably been recommended the most) live there's a music video but the live version is something special.
If you'll do more rap line reactions soon I would recommend songs they did as part of BTS. Outro: Tear, Ddaeng, Cypher 4, UGH are all songs the rap line did together and they're spectacular. There's so much more but these four slap.
And if you will be reacting to mono (Namjoons second mixtape) I would suggest reacting to the whole mixtape (or as Namjoon has referred to it playlist) in one sitting. It's the whole journey and one song flows to the other seamlessly. There is the overall theme to the playlist and references from one song to the other. The whole mixtape tells one large story. But I know it could be a lot so do whatever feels right to you.

I really appreciated your comments at the end about authenticity. I knew I was bisexual at age 14, but didn't come out until I was 38. The amount of energy it takes to hide who you truly are is enormous and there is a psychological price to be paid for that. (Side note: Folks should come out whenever feels right to them based on personal safety, this is just my experience.) Once you free up that energy you spent in hiding, it's like a great weight is lifted and you have more to put into being happy and creative. :)

I never realized how amazing of a rapper RM was until I watched other rappers react to him (and the others). I knew he was a lyrical genius with how he does word play, but I didn’t understand the mechanics behind rap then. I’d highly suggest listening to ‘Whalein 52’ and the explanation video. And definitley Trivia: Love with the reference of ‘person’ becoming ‘love’ which really made me fall for RM even more. He “hides” so much meaning in his lyrics it’s like getting little Christmas gifts when you discover them 🤣🎄🎄
I recommend RM’s Persona solo and any and all Cyphers for rap line week.
When I say 9 different flows, the flow u get by the interaction of rythem n rhyme schemes, n how he delivers which is also known as cadence(rhythmic flow of a sequence of sounds or words).If u observe in Joke you will be able to see that the way he flows keeps changing. Along with 9 different flows, things to appreciate in joke is that it has no chorus just straight bars, no heavy supporting background music but just raw rapping, 93 syllables in just 10 seconds, almost 9.3 syllables per second!!
