This one is a great episode, and definitely underrated. Dougal is hilarious, and the Charades scene is one of the all time great Father Ted moments. "One handed boxing!" 😂 There is a tinge of sadness now you're reaching the end of your journey through this classic show, but your reactions to it have been a joy to watch. :)
The charades scene is one of my absolute favourites in the series! 🤣🤣 "It's a different film, it's a _very different_ film - it's a different _SHARK!"_ 🦈
I think it was done because he did die, but came back and him being able to see us is the ability to see spirits after Near Death Experience....in other words...WE'RE dead X_X .
One of my favourite ever sitcoms...it’s been a pleasure to watch and share with you on this journey. Hopefully you’ll enjoy them all and watch them again in the future.
Love this episode. Ted's monologue about snow in the end is from "The Dead" by James Joyce or more specifically from John Huston's movie adaptation (A really beautiful film by the way)
Honestly mate, Flight Into Terror is the perfect penultimate end to end this fantastic series of reactions to this outstanding show. Father Ted was the most unique comedy ever made; there’s not any other comedies with the cult following that Ted has, it was a one-off. I’ve enjoyed watching you get through them, thanks a lot! 👍🏻
Flight into Terror is a great episode. The last episode is great but really sad, especially at the end knowing Dermot Morgan died a couple of days after. Thank you for reacting to Father Ted all these Months. Its been great to be apart of your journey through the series
Just thought of something. Ted said Father Jack didn't like enclosed spaces, yet in the episode where Ted is accused of being racist, Jack was in the clock and in the box at the end
23:15 Love the Dougal Bit after, when you look very closely, you can see that Jack has to refrain very hard from laughing. But you only see it for two seconds. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's a pity we're already past February. Taffe could have uploaded the final episode as tribute to Dermot Morgan (Ted) and Frank Kelly (Jack). Dermot passed away 28th February 1998 and Frank passed away on the 28th February 2018.
5:28 That's interesting that you mention about Dougal's voice, that it's a bit higher. I guess his real voice is lower. Apparently in the Tentacles of Doom episode which is in series 2, he uses his "normal voice" to say "it won't work will it Ted".
My ex worked on this episode I can't remember what he did on it but I know they named the solicitor's after him. His last name was Corless. I think he got seriously ill or something so they gave him a tip of the hat by naming the law firm after him..
For some reason "The money is under the statue of our Lord being embarrassed by the Romans" line always killed me hahaha. Such a specific description of the statue! I always imagine a statue where Roman soldiers are giving Jesus a wedgie or something.
No way man can’t believe it only 2 episode to go. But I love this episode especially as it was end of season 1 so many great jokes and joy. Happy saint Patrick Day
So sad to see the final countdown , father Ted been here since day one loved every reaction it has been a great journey, I'm not too sad still got still game . ( So then you're a nun )
What makes this episode sad is that Frank Kelly, the actor who played Father Jack, is dead. 😢 He passed away five years ago on the 18th anniversary of the death of Dermot Morgan.
Flight into Terror is one of my favourites. If you're looking for suggestions to do after Father Ted; might I suggest Porridge. A 1970s sitcom about life in Prison. Or Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads; a sitcom about two blokes who have just finished being young coming to terms with their 30s.
You can tell its the first episode they filmed, there does feel like a few weirder out of character moments than usual, mostly with Dougal's remarks and the lad banter about women. Still, its great you are doing the series finales, each one feels of its series so to speak so you can get different types of humour with each. 1 has weird offbeat humour trying to figure itself out, 2 is incredibly funny given its increasingly bizarre situations and 3 has a bit more self referencial remarks.
Well, call me a Thicko... but I've watched this episode at least a dozen times in the past and never spotted the coffin "breathing" before like you did, Noah! Well spotted! It actually does even before you spotted it now that I've watched it again :O Next episode is a masterpiece (the finale of series 2) - and you'll see Father Faith in that one too (the incoherent monkey-man priest who threw the books off the shelves in this one!). Very different to ALL the others too with regards to location filming....
After series 1 aired, one critic said "this is one of the most predictable shows I have ever seen". Well, some critics would find the lottery predictable.
Hi taffe when’s the next still game and life of Mars coming out, also life on Mars and ashes to ashes combined is 40 episodes so it would take you over 3 years to complete so will you consider making it twice a week sometime In the future?
If you're looking for a new UK sitcom to react to, I recommend "House of Fools" - it's VERY different... And features the wonderful Bob Mortimer of course...
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Of course, The Holy Stone would move again in the next series... One of my favourite lines of all: "Er, I'm in tremendous pain, Ted." I say that when I bump into something. My school was called St. Columb's... I went to the current version of it, but we joke that my uncle might have run into Jack when he went to the original building in a different part of the city in the 60s. Once, watching a repeat, when Jack tells us to feck off, the announcer then said "No, please don't do that! We've got loads more laughs to come tonight on Channel 4!"
I do prefer the 90's take on issues in society like racism and sexism. Comedy holds up a mirror to reality, which has much more impact than the current woke speeches and thought-police...In my opinion anyway. but the fact you can look at the comments under stand-up acts like Al Murray, and see that some people _don't_ get the angle though is scary.
I'm getting those tissues ready for the last two reactions to Father Ted, feels like visiting a familiar friend once or twice a month.
To this day I still use "that money was just resting in my account..."
I can't wait for Flight into Terror. It's a masterpiece 😀
one of my favorite episodes of the show.
i like the dog toy phone bit lol

The 4th wall break of father jack at the end, his way of saying you'll not get rid of me that easily 🤠
I think it was done because he did die, but came back and him being able to see us is the ability to see spirits after Near Death Experience....in other words...WE'RE dead X_X .
The Mrs Doyle bit wouldn't work with me because I've never refused a cuppa tea in my life.
I have often thought if I were there and she offered me tea or anything, I'd be honoured.
I've always had a soft spot for Mrs. Doyle.
@@treborillusion yeah she's a fine woman
Even Death wouldn't stop me from wanting a good ol' Cuppa.

@@ShadowDancer0988 yeah so sad, he could've done so much more
I first saw this when I was a child but to me, this episode was Father Ted's 'Halloween episode' if they ever made one, this was it.
Just thought of something. Ted said Father Jack didn't like enclosed spaces, yet in the episode where Ted is accused of being racist, Jack was in the clock and in the box at the end
Dougal: “you’re there now with Stalin and Bob Marley”
I don’t think those two are comparable. 😂
Ted, Ted, I’m in tremendous pain Ted.
Genius!!

Have waited so long for Flight into terror. My favourite episode by far.please don't disappoint
Brilliant reaction to a brilliant show. Sad to get to the end. Would be good to see you do a top ten of your favourite moments from across the series.
Flight into terror is a great Father Ted episode.
flight into terror isnt as much of a finale as the other two season finales, its just like a regular episode
The writers weren’t happy about the ending to this about how Ted and Dougal are wanting to leave more floor polish for Jack
Yeah, they often said how it was a bit mean spirited and out of character.
Ted's monologue before Jack wakes up is a riff on the ending of "The Dead" by James Joyce.
Father ted is the best the christmas one is my favorite one
Flight into terror is up there with my favourites
Mine too. I kind of wish he'd end the show with that.

Bit of a mistake there; if Sister Monica thought Jack was dead, it would be too late for him to receive the last rites.

scary thing is Jack is mild compared to some of the priests and nuns in real life.

I use Fr Ted in every day of my life in some way or another. Its the most genius show iv ever seen.
the sad part about this is the guy who played father ted died of a massive heart attack
Awwww yeah!
I'm gonna watch this in a few hours when I can chill with a meal and a coffee :D.
"Ted said you were touching him" 😄🤣😂

I’d recommend taking a look at Upstart Crow if you fancied a bit of historical comedy with David Mitchell.
2 more to go.
Edit: watched it now. You look emotional at the end man. Wonder if we’ll see a tear or two on the final episode.
The nun at the beginning is beautiful.
Be great if you could do the series of Bottom. My top series ever were Bottom, Father Ted and Red Dwarf, in that order
He’s done three Bottom’s
@@Ian_Livesey you can never have enough Bottom

This show aged like a fine wine.
I see what you mean about Dougal In the first series I recon by series 2 they had finalised his character a bit more
“ Ted says you were touching him”
One thing you may not know about father Ted the theme tune was a song by divine comedy called songs of love
Actually, the theme tune came first, and was later turned into a song with lyrics
Black Books next?

Do we know what show he's going to watch every episode of next yet? I wouldn't mind Outnumbered tbh
I wonder how long this series would have lasted if not for the unexpected death of Dermot Morgan . I watched every episode.
They were planning on ending the show where it did regardless. Dermot apparently wanted to move on to different projects.
It's actually quite sad hearing dermot talk about death taking father Jack at the end when dermot died not that long after this was aired
