AFI RULES FOREVER
I love this song! It makes me feel the same emotions I felt listening to AFI's older records back in the day. It's so mellow, filled with sadness and full of poetry. I love the sound, love the lyrics. I finally feel like it's the band I fell in love with 15 years ago. This is the sound I've been waiting for for the last couple of years. Thank you AFI for creating this!🖤🖤🖤

I've been in love with AFI since growing up with their old punk stuff like answer that and stay fashionable, very proud of ya, shut your mouth, followed em into all hallow's, the art of drowning, black sails, sing the sorrow, and then to December underground and still stayed with em through crash love, burials, etc etc...and even this new art.....and throughout all their changes, the poetry and the beauty of it all has kept me in love with them, everlasting. True artists.....may they never stop 🖤

Below is a direct word-for-word copy of the lyrics in the liner sheet that came with the vinyl. Gave myself a headache writing it down, since some idiot somewhere decided it was a fantastic idea to have dark text on a dark background. As per usual in AFI's album lyrics, repeat lines as required.

Yes, but sadly people will still continue to cry for the "old stuff" at this point, what is the old stuff? They kinda, at this point have about 4-5 different eras and styles. Us real fans call it evolution, unfortunately simple minded people can't see that.
Donald Cassell yeah first they were hardcore punk, then horror punk, then emo rock, then alternative rock and then something that I’m not sure how to define (maybe post-punk? I’m not sure)
It’s funny, because they been doing their so called post hardcore style a lot longer then the 5 years they did hardcore punk. They’ve been making music like this for near 20 years now

The thing I really love about AFI, not accounting for their earlier-punky stuff= All their albums are obviously AFI, yet they are all Different. They all have a different 'texture'. It's why I never get tired of their music. There's a lot of great groups who just kind of always sound the same and then they get old. (Chevelle?) Also, I don't know if this is intentional?, but all of their last 6 albums or so seem to represent a Color. Almost like they pick a color and craft everything around that- the music, lyric's, texture, even the videos. This is Grey, of course. And NO- December Underground was White- not Grey. Love that they went with a lighter, mellower vibe on this song. This is a good conduit for them to create in. They make a lot of what I'd term= Polished Alt Rock= which I love, but I think something softer with some orchestration really works for his voice. They should take this song and spin material off it- it works, and it'd attract a different following from their usual peeps. Might even win a Grammy? My 2 cents.

Favorite band since 99!!! I love heavier bands like Architects, As I lay Dying, Northlane, Miss May I, Dream on Dreamer among like 100 bands of metalcore and some of today's hardcore genres but AFI is still without a doubt my favorite band alongside everything that Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf does! Amazing song like only A Fire Inside knows how to create
Man I’m so glad I discovered this band thanks to playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (“The Boy Who Destroyed the World”). I don’t think I would have known about them until maybe someone accidentally mentioning them in high school but I think it was because I brought it up.
