Very helpful. Thank you thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for your video.
I have a 2006/2008 Fleetwood Bounder workhorse with 8.1. I’ve seen a few other videos regarding the knocks sensor. The other say you have to take the manifold off. I’m hoping to have the same engine you have.
The GMC dealer told us the same. We had to replace the intake gaskets anyway, but learned the knock sensors were on the sides of the engine.. Thanks for the comment!!
Great video
Thanks!
Very helpful!! Thank you.
No problem!! Thanks for the comment!!
Excellent presentation
I appreciate that!
i believe AC Delco #1259-1312 has been superseded by ACDelco 213-2829.
I appreciate the update!
can I put a fan switch in place of a knock sensor? I have a church van, not a truck. Is the water jacket behind the knock sensor?
Honestly I’ve never looked. I don’t have instant access to this truck to look. So I can’t even give you a guess.
Thanks for the comments!
AC Delco #15306376 is cross referenced to "1-Way Female Natural Colored Multi-Purpose Pigtail
Part Number: PT1428
I'm considering getting away from a clutch fan, since you say there are 2 knock sensors, I'm considering putting in a temp switch where one knock sensor is. Are they spliced together anyway?
I’m not sure, that’s something to look into.
No don't do this, there is one knock sensor per side of the block for a reason. Then on top of that you need the temp sensor Into the coolant not the side of the block
How come some are under the intake, and some are old school?
Because engineers love mechanics.....
Why did you replace it?, what was the symptoms?
The engine felt like it had a miss and didn’t feel like it was running to it full potential. After running a diagnostic, it came back stating the knock sensors were bad.
youneed to slow down where us old folks can see what your doing.
That’s why I put pictures in so you can pause and see..
