And to think John Lennon wrote this incredible song when he was only 24. What a gift he gave to us and so many young people who can experience the Beatles the way we first did over 50 years ago. They will definitely survive the test of time. Great reaction.
I have been a Beatles fan since 1964 ! I cannot imagine life without them! what would this world be without them! Paul has been my favorite! very nice reaction !
This may be my favorite Beatles song. I also like “Norwegian Wood”, and “A Girl”. I’m a 68-year-old man and I've experienced every Beatles release since they were on the Ed Sullivan Show.
No apologies necessary, you just play it as often as you like! GREAT song. Every person on Earth can relate to this song. We all have wonderful memories of times and people past and present, dead and living. It's a beautiful, bittersweet song. The Beatles at their best! Two more great songs are on this same album, NOWEHERE MAN and NORWEGIAN WOOD, among others. I'm sure you will love them both!
this song especially brings the Beatles so far from all the others in talent, song writing ability and performance. To say the Beatles are special is an understatement. Welcome to the world of the fabulous BEATLES
It wasn't done that way to make it sound like a harpsichord. George Martin has said it was done at half speed because he couldn't get the notes correct at normal speed. Sounding like a harpsichord when speed up was a side effect.
Please never apologize for go back and listening to a part of a Beatles song over again. Theyre worth it. You are surely becoming one of my favorites. Thanks
Their producer, George Martin, wanted to play the instrumental part but it was too difficult for him. So he recorded it an octave lower at half speed and that went fine. Then they played it back at double speed to match the Beatles recording. It not only sounded great but sounded more like a harpsicord than a piano which added even more to the performance.
I believe that’s an electric piano. If you like harmonies, please check out “If I Fell”. It will bless your ears. Great reaction. I love your enthusiasm!
Thank you for your reaction to this great Lennon tune! With every year that passes, Onyin Pearl, the lyrics of this song will become ever more meaningful! Here are a few more early Beatles songs for you to consider reacting to! Tell Me Why, From Me To You, No Reply, Love Me Do, And I Love Her, and If I Fell! Enjoy the journey and continued great success to you with your channel!!!
Very emotional isn't it, this song? I find it so, as it evokes all kinds of memories of people and places for me too! Some I will never see again as they have passed or just lost contact with! But that is life.
The solo, "what instrument is that?" it is a piano but it was played at a lower speed and pitch then accelerated to match the key of the song to try to achieve that harpsichord effect. It was played by George Martin, producer of the Beatles, many call him the 5th Beatle.
John wrote this song at the age of 22, shortly after the death of friend Stuart Sutcliffe. The song was written for Stuart and other closest friend Pete Shotton. When the song was recorded, John confided in Pete that this was the only song he had written that truly came from his heart.
In this case its an early electric piano with Built in sounds Disguised to sound like a harpsichord . It is a piano. The piano played by the Beatles producer George Martin is recorded one octave low and at half-speed, then added to the recording at full-speed.
I agree, OP. The song speaks to "then" and also to "now" as you continue to live and love. Thank you. BTW, I believe the instrument in question might be a harpsichord.
A Beatles great and another great reaction, my Nigerian daughter! Let's work and pray toward you having 20,000 subscribers! Much love and here's to your next reaction! 🙏🙂❤️

The older you get then the more relevant this becomes. I have just watched a Football Documentary from my youth (I'm 67 ) and bearly all the main characters are dead now..
There's some instrumentation missing from this version - a kind of wonderful piece of harpsichord like music the middle. I wonder if Paul McCartney put a block on that and it had to be removed to get it aired by reactors.
It's a piano sped up twice the speed recording wise. I always thought it was a harpsicord like everyone else. George Martin played the part. The long Time Producer. The fith Beatle
Sorry, my dog jumped on me and messed me up. This song from their album Rubber Soul released on December 3rd, 1965 is a classic John Lennon song. Lennon called this album the pot album and said that they were smoking marijuana for breakfast during this period. You can here the marijuana influence throughout the record, it's a totally chill, vibe album. The Beatles were the one band who could take their drug experience's, marijuana here and in the following year with LSD starting with their next album Revolver released August 5th, 1966 and somewhere transfer those experience's onto their records, I've never heard it from any other band like these four guy's. Three more great Lennon songs from Rubber Soul are Norwegian Wood, Nowhere Man and Girl, check them out.

I think that when younger people with an ear for music hear a song like this for the first time, it must be really disarming. So much contemporary pop music is like a competition between record producers, but a competition that amounts to running around in circles on the same playing field. Along comes 'In My Life', calling form the past, "Yeh, but what about the song?". Strip it all down. If there's a not a perfectly formed song underneath, what's the point?
And to think John Lennon wrote this incredible song when he was only 24. What a gift he gave to us and so many young people who can experience the Beatles the way we first did over 50 years ago. They will definitely survive the test of time. Great reaction.

Great reaction! Solo instrument was actually a piano, played by their producer George Martin, but they sped it up to make it sound like a harpsichord.
Thanks Patrick
I always thought it was a Harpsichord lol
@@jameshealy8402 I know, right? The Beatles, as always, have to do things differently.
He had to play it at half speed and an octave lower so that it would come out at the correct tempo and pitch.
It wasn't done that way to make it sound like a harpsichord. George Martin has said it was done at half speed because he couldn't get the notes correct at normal speed. Sounding like a harpsichord when speed up was a side effect.
Its because John's a musical genius..the baroque medieval Bach-style piano playing is greatly superb.

One of my favorites. Too short. It stirs up a feeling for the past ..
Love the Drums on this, an excellent turn by Ringo. George Martin is playing the Piano in the middle section, recorded at half speed.

Beatles=Perfection.
The instrument in the middle is in fact a piano, first recorded and then played in double speed.
The instrument you ask about... It sounds like a harpsichord . Which is a keyboard... YOU are SO right. The BEATLES were the BEST....
He is singing about a girl whom he loves most. So this is a love song. The way I see it.

The instrument you were curious about was in fact a piano played in the classical style by George Martin.
The instrument to which you refer is a harpsichord. Like a piano but the strings are plucked instead of struck. It's so beautiful!
I love that song
Sin Jhon no hay beatles los mejores temas son de el genio.
Other commenter mentioned the keyboard part was a piano at half speed, I thought it was a harpsichord but definitely played by george martin.
A harpsichord! A precursor to a piano forte, or a piano. A georgous song and reaction👍
The instrument in the musical bridge was a piano but speeded up to sound like a harpsichoed - an old type of keyboard instrument.
Tnx Christine
that instrument is the harpischord. It has been around way longer than the piano.
A perfect song.
My favorite Beatles song... it's on a playlist I have called "For My Memorial".... along with The Marmalade's "Reflections of my Life" among others
That instrumental in between supposedly was a piano but they played it on a fast track
The instrument sounds like a harpsichord. That's a piano like instrument that was common in earlier forms of classical music, eg Bach.
I think it's a piano played at half-speed then played back sped up.
@@brettholcomb3763 Played by George Martin
A harpsichord, but I've also heard that George Martin was playing the piece on piano and it was sped up.
It's a Harspsicord on the solo😎
The solo is done on a piano (by producer George Martin), but it's recorded slower and sped up, giving the sound of something like a harpsichord.
The solo, "what instrument is that?" it is a piano but it was played at a lower speed and pitch then accelerated to match the key of the song to try to achieve that harpsichord effect. It was played by George Martin, producer of the Beatles, many call him the 5th Beatle.
