If it hadn’t been for the Ministry of Silly Walks we probably wouldn’t have gotten the Hitler Walk from Fawlty Towers
Maybe it requires a person to know a tiny bit about Latin or learning Latin, but the scene from the Life of Brian where Cleese plays a Roman soldier who catches Graham Chapman's character writing graffiti in incorrect Latin is pretty hilarious.
Am I the only one who immediately checked the news to see if he had died? Normally they do lists like this when an actor has died
I said the exact same thing when i saw this!
Comedian Paul O'Grady died this morning. Not really relevant to this but very sad nonetheless.
We thought the exact same thing. I won’t be able to handle it the day this great man and mind leaves our earthly plane…
R.I.P Lilly Savage 🥺
Nope. I did the exact same thing.
Completely spoiled by the commentary. Please... just play the clips. Nothing else needed.
I still use these comedic python phrases frequently, if someone dosnt want to cooperate..." I fart in your general direction"
Classic.😂
You left out the skit about the cheese shop that didn't have any cheese
That's a turnabout of the Argument Clinic. In the cheese shop, Michael plays the otherworldly frustrating one, while John is baffled.
I think the majority of us have seen these scenes many times over the years, no explanation really required mate!
John Cleese was hilarious in Garfield a Tail of Two Kitties too.
That wasn't John Cleese. If it's the character I think you're referring to that was Billy Connolly
@@michaelcurtin524 while I wasn't referring to the characters names
My favorite Python 🙌
You should have given an honourable mention to Cleese as Death in the dinner party scene in The Meaning Of Life, where everyone is killed by the salmon mousse. Perfect miming and a refusal to say anything much at all, but I am Death. 😁
" Found This Spoon Sir 😂 " : The Life Of Brian , & is the Funniest film EVER made " in my opinion " ?? , it's absolute genius 😂
John Cleese is the Best of All Python
The restaurant scene with the waiter and fat guy
Damn!!! How lucky we are to have you to commentate and explain everything!!! How on earth would us Monty Python / Cleese fans be able to have worked it all out otherwise……………..Oh….wait……
All brilliant clips that I know well.
But why does the narrator have to explain them and kill the humour?! 😩
This is absolutely hilarious love it ❤️🤣
The Latin Lesson from the LOB was the best moment
Albatross
I'll watch this in full when the five other Pythons have their own Top 10s too. I don't know why people act like John Cleese is the default "leader" of the troupe, when they don't have one.
Do a Faulty Towers one, please :)
John best actor in the world
Your Majesty: Please give knighthoods for all the living Monty Python cast members that are eligible. Signed a resident of those cheeky colonies.
And yes Michael Pailn has his knighthood. Chapman and Terry Jones have died and Terry Gilliam is American. So that leaves Cleese and Eric Idle (both are way overdue)
In all fairness to Cleese, my reading indicates that his attitude toward the Ministry Of Silly Walks isn’t precisely distaste. He seems to want to forego the thing because when he does it, all that pounding gives him sore hip joints. After all, the man is now over 80 years old.
The Jehovah scene should rank much higher. I don't think I have ever laughed harder in a movie theater.
Just ordered the complete monty python dvd with everything...
Cleese is Borat... Thats how good he is.
"Goooooodnight ding ding ding ding ding!"
Can you please do Top 10 Colin Baker performances?
if you had the John Cleese in the plate breaking sketch I would have been able to agree, but short of that I can't imagine!!!
From all Monty Python members John is most successful his has 173 acting credits Emmy and Oscar nomination.
Who asked?
Wit of laughs John Cleese and extremely handsome and anthology.
How about top ten lists for the other Pythons? Here's a starting point: Eric Idle in "Nudge, nudge"; Terry Jones as Sir Bedevere; Michael Palin as Dennis the political peasant; Graham Chapman as the colonel; and Terry Gilliam's "bloody weather" animation.
The argument clinic is the best. It plays with paradoxes. (and go ahead and post "no it doesn't" in a reply. That's inevitable.)
I agree with number 1.. But you should have included the lion Tamer sketch
Cleese is uncharacteristically straight in that skit, and yet still very funny. "His first question is not going to be, does he have his own hat?"
I Laughed My Tits Off To The Monty Python Life Or Brian And The Holy Grail And The Life Of Brian...
...You Get To See Brian's Bird With Her Bush Out Which Is Always Nice Boys And Germs...
Centurion is underrated
JUST CAN’T
GET ENOUGH.!
😉
☺️😊😃

Do you want, do you want to come back to my place bouncy bouncy?
Please do a " 10 times paul o'grady was a legend " 🙏
The Ministry of Silly Walks is a comment on the habit which still exists of a Prime Minister of creating new departments....the Brexit department, the Levelling Up department, the Drought Management department, etc, etc over many many decades. 😁
Why talk all over the video clip. Let the clip play without interruption so people can appreciate the genius of John Cleese rather than a voice-over ruining half the scene. I stopped watching after the 2nd clip. Annoying!
Im surprised the scene biggus dickus didnt make the list, thats a funny scene
One python movie would not have been made without the funding of George Harrison.
Notice how WokeMojo completely ignored the amazing scene from Life Of Brian, where Eric Idle talks about how he wants to be referred to as a woman named Loretta. Turned out to be incredibly prophetic, but Woke Mojo wouldn't touch that one with a ten foot barge pole.
#1 - a.k.a. A normal day in the US government.
Top 10 non=Python John Cleese moments anyone?
This is an ex parrot!!
Too much comment…
Benny Hill considered funnier than Monty Python by two TV stations--WOR and WLVI.
Life of Brian just pipped Airplane ( Flying High) as the funniest movie of all time.
@@Yeviscount The TV stations acknowledged what I said. They were hugely popular stations.
70th
would have been 100% better without the talking
Your talking over everything is really boring and unnecessary
Way to make it as unfunny as possible by talking over all the bits! 😃
Would be nice to see these bits without the constant annoying commentary.
I clicked to hear and watch Ckeese, not you. No offense.
you talk too much, cannot enjoy the sketch
Stop talking and show it
The narrator is talking most of the time...not John Cleese ....boring.
The useless and needless narration prevents the viewer from enjoying the sketches.
I can't watch. The talk over is too much
John Cleese imho is to comedy what covid is to a healthy life 🤮
Please let the performances speak for themselves. The narration is unnecessary and distracting.
