Carbon Trail to Green Lake with Chris and Alex | Crested Butte Classics

Any time I can get Chris Boice and Alex Petitdemange together to ride, I can guarantee myself a memorable day. We shot this one in the spring when we were visiting Crested Butte for Chris' 40th. As you will see in this video, Chris is still riding like a teenager, and all is right in the world. This was also the first ride I did with Alex after getting hip surgery earlier this season. I couldn't believe how fast he healed and was right back up to speed. What a legend.
We climbed Baxter Gulch to Carbon Trail and descended Green Lake after a brief visit to the actual lake, to assess the temperature. You may have never guessed, it was cold. This is the perfect from-town mini loop with one of the best descents in the valley. Rocks and root doubles for days. Truly a pleasure riding with two of my best amigos.

Good stuff, rode that several years ago as an up and back down. Pretty brutal climb as per usual in CB, but a fun, fast downhill.
