I got mine few days ago and I’m impressed. I build tube amps and I designed a tube amp last year that has a fenderish clean channel and a very versatile od channel that goes from jtm, plexi, jcm, slo, dumble, etc. , using different gain stages and tone shaping switches. The thing is that this pedal on the clean channel sounds, feels and behave just as my amp’s od channel on the marshallish kind of tones. It’s so good, very clear, defined, articulate and so amp like. It’s also very, very dynamic. Love it.!!!
The Charvel is getting a lot of action lately! Sounds very nice! The drive is very good too! The HPF does a great job, and all three positions are useful, depending on the level of gain. The drive itself has a nice characteristic to it.
Hey Brett, I never found the right pedals in the 70s to get the sustain and distortion right. I ended up using a 35W Fender Tremolux head with a dummy load and a Marshall transistor head as a slave. My band hated me for not using a Marshall valve amp. When I saw Wings live, Danny McCulloch had a similar set-up. Stages sounds like what I was looking for. What are you using for reverb?
Nitro is a bonus. I remember seeing Bruce Kulick playing a similar coloured superstrat back when he first joined Kiss, but the finish on that one was more sparkly metallic flake, I like yours better.
Nice pedal, covers a mob of ground.... but the pickups in that Charvel are the stars, not even a huge humbucker fan, but they're articulate as. Gd work mate, luv shit l can't afford!!👍
Yeah, they're great pickups. The only set Charvel have manufactured for a signature model aside from Guthrie's, I believe. These ones are A3 PAF-style. Very chimey and not too hot.
Best regards for your experience! I have Boss BD-2 Blues Driver. I see Blues Driver and Stages are similar. Will I get something new if I buy Stages? Maybe Stages has better dynamics and response to touch? Or are these pedals equivalent? Thanks (I know the sound in our hands and head, BUT....)
Ordered it after your demo. Arrived today. Will fire it up tomorrow morning. Well built. Nice powdery sparkle finish.
Always a pleasure to wake up to one of your demos! Be well.
Thank you again, Mr D.
Great stuff
Great for Recording

Pedal sounds pretty good, but the colour on that Charvel is wonderful!
Inca Silver, Michael. Cool, isn't it? Nitro too.

Maybe it would sound good placed in the post pre-amp section of an amp's effects loop for live use?

Stages is a better choice
Gain sounds very natural and organic.
All the world's a Stage...
