the game seems to have a wonderful foundation. You can build a lot of things there. If you don't already know, take a look at "Gaslands" and "Cars Wars" there are a lot of good things there for inspiration. create Gangs, customize weapons, cars, drivers with powers, types of races, tracks, vehicles... there are a lot of cool things in these games to take from the base. I want to see this game grow, it has a lot of potential there.
The Game looks interesting and all... but why did you put the guns on those flimsy little sticks? I mean... recoil alone would bend those while shooting... as well as just driving around... make some cool weapon mounts... would really push the immersion

Interstate 76 let you snipe drivers through the side window and had pretty nice designed roadways and even some basic car interiors. This game seems to have none of that.

I played the barebones alpha when it first released and I am SO excited for this. The core feel of driving and combat is already excellent, I just hope that they eventually add a few more things to break up the gameplay loop. Non-combat races, friendly NPC locations, taxi time trials... fishing? Every RPG is better with a fishing minigame.

I still remember playing split-screen with my brother and next-door-neighbor on the old N64. That and Facility in Goldeneye were how we spent SOOOOOOOO much of our time, at least until we got Super Smash Brothers. I don't even remember her name, but I usually played the girl cop with the blue sports car.
As a lifelong TM and V8 fan I'm trying to warn people that it's not the same AT ALL and you shouldn't buy the game because of nostalgia. Please play the demo and find out for yourself if this will be up your alley. :)

BRO mentioning that golden game Vigilante 8 - you just got RESPECT :D I played the F out of Vigilante 8 on PS 1 coz I didn't have memory card so every day I started new game and got to perfection where I could finish entire game in just around 5 hours.
I remember there was this flash or Java script racing game, it was like rough looking 3d racing and you would basically circuit race but you could use some really mad max looking vehicles, take jumps, and slam into other racers destroying them. This game just invokes that sense of my childhood, when flash games were new and everybody could make something on the internet. I think this game has potential but it needs more customization, more gamemodes, more maps and details perhaps?

I think the Nemesis system was infamously patented by Warner Bros, I don't think that the creator would be able to implement something like that without risking a long legal battle. It's possible but it would be a lenthy court battle trying to prove that his system is different from Warner Bros in some form or fashion, and I think the Dev would want to avoid something like that.

MechWarrior customization would be good, but Interstate 76 was so advanced you could add curb feelers
I76 was running on the Mechwarrior 2 Engine, if i remember correctly. They did a lot of interesting stuff with it.

all the additions you mentioned are rad as f, but i get a simplified, ultra fast paced and more modern sid meier pirates feel from watching you play
oh and with POIs, fast travel but it's unlockable and you pick up resources/question mark rooms a la StS if you don't use it
