Xaveze If skipping her poetry (The poems you read in the Velvet Room) was optional, then I wouldn't have any problem with her. Sadly, you have to listen to it slowly play out every time it happens, you can't speed it up or skip it. This is especially frustrating when you're just trying to get some business done in the Velvet Room but you have to wait. It's not even the fact that Marie does it, or that I dislike the poems (I do, but that's more personal taste than anything else), I'd be frustrated if ANY character had similar un-skippable dialogue that slowed me down while accessing an important area.
Yu and Marie are pretty much the only Tenseis for Izanagi and Izanami, so that they are able to reconcile after that tragic story between them. They may very well be the 2000’s version of Akemi and Yumiko from the OG 80’s Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei. I also wanna add @3:06 because of how cute Marie reacted to them holding hands.😂😊🇯🇵

I'm so confused by these comments. Why do people think Marie is a "reincarnation" of Izanami when she confirms that she is the original. More baffling is that people seem to think Yu is reincarnation of Izanagi. That's not what a Personal is and the only reason that's his first Persona is because the fake Izanami chose it for him.
Marie is the ego portion of Izanami. But she separated from the original goddess's body and then reformed with her new Marie form as the base. So it's a sort of new goddess reincarnation (shin megami tensei). While Yu is more of a spiritual reincarnation in the sense that Izanagi was also a juste man who would pursue the truth above all else and protect the people he loved. To get the true ending we have to follow the same path as Izanagi in the original myth and in doing so transcend from man to god (attain the power of the World arcana)

Izanami may have chosen him just like the others but there are some misterious stuff like the two Izanagi´s looking like him instead of Magatsu taking the form of his user or the fact that as soon as Yu puts his feet in Inaba he meets Marie. This happens before of the "push". Somehow his presence summoned her, a being from the other side, to that place and that is pointed by Margaret. As far as Marie dissapears he falls ill and has dreams. The game is telling us that they are linked. About the curiosity thing, when you are curious about anything is because you want to know what is going on hence the truth.

To share similarities doesn´t means to be 100% the same person. Anyway Izanami and Izanagi´s story is pretty tragic. I don´t think that Izanagi was dishonest, Izanami lied. She couldn´t return to the mortal realm, maybe to bring such creature to the human world would cause more disaster. She already had dark powers her summonings to stop Izanagi were demons. I think that his reaction was pretty human too, he didn´t saw his wife, he saw a monster. The beautiful thing here is that Marie´s dungeon is just a representation of this part and I must to agree with you here. Yu discovered that she was a monster but did everything to bring her back and save the world at the same time. The game gives you the option of abandon and forget her but is canon that he saved her.

I'm so confused by these comments. Why do people think Marie is a "reincarnation" of Izanami when she confirms that she is the original. More baffling is that people seem to think Yu is reincarnation of Izanagi. That's not what a Personal is and the only reason that's his first Persona is because the fake Izanami chose it for him.
Marie is the ego portion of Izanami. But she separated from the original goddess's body and then reformed with her new Marie form as the base. So it's a sort of new goddess reincarnation (shin megami tensei). While Yu is more of a spiritual reincarnation in the sense that Izanagi was also a juste man who would pursue the truth above all else and protect the people he loved. To get the true ending we have to follow the same path as Izanagi in the original myth and in doing so transcend from man to god (attain the power of the World arcana)

1) Marie is Izanami. The original Izanami. According to Marie, the other Izanami split off from her. The reason Sagiri return to her after their defeat and she obtains their power (rather than the other Izanami) is because she is the original.

2) How is Yu a "spiritual reincarnation of Izanagi"? Where did you get this about Izanagi? What little concrete information we hear about Izanagi comes from Marie's poems, and she describes him as a kind person, but also a lying hypocrite, hiding behind a mask of deceit.
There's also the legends, where Izanagi kills his newborn son because Izanami died from childbirth and the fact that he lit the comb and revealed Izanami's true from. In that sense, he works as a good symbolic figure of the truth, but from how the legend describes it, Izanagi just gave in to curiosity, rather than some noble pursuit of truth.
Marie is Izanami´s ego. She´s the one part of Izanami that has a heart while the other would act more like her shadow so you both are right.
Yu isn´t Izanagi but we could say that his psyche would be pretty close. Izanami may have chosen him just like the others but there are some misterious stuff like the two Izanagi´s looking like him instead of Magatsu taking the form of his user or the fact that as soon as Yu puts his feet in Inaba he meets Marie. This happens before of the "push". Somehow his presence summoned her, a being from the other side, to that place and that is pointed by Margaret. As far as Marie dissapears he falls ill and has dreams. The game is telling us that they are linked.
About the curiosity thing, when you are curious about anything is because you want to know what is going on hence the truth.
@@Amarant127 Are their psyches close? I mean it's hard to tell since Yu's a silent protagonist, but Marie's comments on Izanagi make him seem like a pretty dishonest person, much like Izanami herself. It's hard to imagine that this would apply to Yu.

To share similarities doesn´t means to be 100% the same person. Anyway Izanami and Izanagi´s story is pretty tragic. I don´t think that Izanagi was dishonest, Izanami lied. She couldn´t return to the mortal realm, maybe to bring such creature to the human world would cause more disaster. She already had dark powers her summonings to stop Izanagi were demons. I think that his reaction was pretty human too, he didn´t saw his wife, he saw a monster. The beautiful thing here is that Marie´s dungeon is just a representation of this part and I must to agree with you here. Yu discovered that she was a monster but did everything to bring her back and save the world at the same time. The game gives you the option of abandon and forget her but is canon that he saved her.
