- Talk to any coach today about their coaching philosophy or about how they coach their team, and they're sure to tell you that they use a lot of "high rep" drills at practice. This means that they run practices with a focus on getting a lot of touches on the ball for each player.
While repetitions alone will improve the skill level of most players over time, PROGRESSIONS are how a coach will take their team to the next level.
Learning how a skill progresses from the fundamentals is key to athletes understanding how to perform a skill correctly and with consistency!
Focusing on progressions (with high reps!) is the best method for teaching more and more advanced skills to your team. Practicing without a purpose, however, is doing your players a disservice.
