    Ok I was going to buy this but was waiting for your review so honest opinion this or elletta explore I had the oracle touch borek twice after 13 months not made to last so this why I’m going automatic which would you say I’m leaning kitchen aid for build quality

      It's a tough one, this is a nice machine, decent build quality, but then the Eletta Explore is also a decent machine, with nice build quality. The touch interface is nice on the kitchenaid, it's great that you can remove the bean hopper and purge the remaining beans. Other than this though, if I was stuck between these two machines, given the huge price difference, I think I'd find it difficult to justify the big jump in price.
      Ta, Kev

    Hey Kev great review ! Not sure if you had a a chance to check out the terra krafe tk-02 but I was wondering if you would suggest this machine over that ! Thanks !

    Right now in America, there is a $200 difference between the kf8 and Eletta. I’m so torn! I am in no way a barista, but I’m justifying the investment by the amount of Starbucks I buy. I have an off brand K cup coffee maker , but the coffee just isn’t strong enough, no matter the beans or grind, or k cup I use. So here I am. I’m leaning towards this model, simply for the warranty and cleaning features, but I adore the to go features of the eletta 😢 someone help!

    Nice review! Would you say the Jura J8 makes better coffee and is a better machine overall? Torn between these two. Thanks!

      Hi, I haven't had chance to review any Jura machines unfortunately, I would like to but Jura do not want me to review their machines so I don't.

    Can we get a review of the new dualit espressivo Pro dual boiler please

  • @johne7100

    Not that I'd be buying machine that price, but it'd be interesting all the same to know how big a puck it uses. Also, on my ex-demo De'Longhi (which cost a tenth of what this one costs), when I hit the double button it grinds a bit longer, so that I can stop the flow and get a decent espresso out of a good-sized puck. If I heard you rightly and this contraption makes a double as one single after another, if I stopped it early I'd abort both shots. Aye well, I suppose we're not meant to want to do that.

      Not sure to be honest, it won't eject without running water through the pucks, I'll try turning it off and see if I can get a dry weight that way. Cheers, Kev.

    Nice review, thank you. Though... perhaps it needs in big shouty words THIS CANNOT MAKE TEA and after spending nearly £2k you will STILL need a kettle. Wretched Europeans seem to want us to stop making proper tea with boiling water, same with all the idiotic water dispensers/"boiling" water taps popping up purportedly as alternatives to a kettle.

    • @iggyman83
      @iggyman83 2 дні тому +3

      It dispenses hot water for tea. If you like boiling water, which is not ideal for tea, you can use your kettle.

    • @steveh7866
      @steveh7866 2 дні тому

      @@iggyman83 Ah right. That'll be why one common complaint is that the tea is so "good" when brewed at altitude. Perhaps you prefer green tea? To pull out the full flavour of a British cuppa you need 100°C water.

    • @Coffee_Kev
      @Coffee_Kev  2 дні тому +3

      The high setting at about 90C is slightly higher than a lot of others, I think that's actually perfect for most tea, I use about 88C for normal tea, I've tried going hotter and it doesn't appear to be helpful. Cheers, Kev

    • @Coffee_Kev
      @Coffee_Kev  2 дні тому +3

      Try testing that, make a brew actually at 100C as it's coming off the boil, let it cool down to drinking temp - do the same at about 90C, I'd be very surprised if you determine that you do actually need 100C water for a proper British cuppa. Ta, Kev.

      @@Coffee_Kev Hmm will pick up a thermometer and try. Certainly none of my espresso machines have delivered hot enough water (yes, I always try - something else to play with with a new machine) and my spirits fall when someone else lets the kettle go off the boil before pouring as it always gets that "dishwater" flavour. Again, I suspect it is a different flavour profile people are looking for: my guess would be it doesn't release the tanins as well when it isn't boiling hot as it's missing astringency.

    KitchenAid products always seen more expensive than comparable products from other manufacturers.

    • @Coffee_Kev
      @Coffee_Kev  День тому +1

      yeah they're a premium brand, the thing is thought when a brand that has built such a strong brand in a specific product area branches out to a very different niche, does the brand name really hold value? It's a nice machine, some great features, well built, I'm just not sure I'd pay double the price of the DeLonghi Eletta Explore, or nearly 5 times what you can currently get the Eletta Cappuccino for, for this.
