    As a previous traveller to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings as well as the cruise to Aswan, I can thoroughly recommend this tour. One suggestion, choose a tour when the daytime temperatures are milder as it can be very hot in the height of summer.

    Loved the video. You uploaded this 2 months ago but what are the dates you were actually there. Me and my wife plan on going around the end of Oct. We are doing the same cruise. From Luxor to Aswan. This will be our first time going to Egypt. You flew into Cairo and then took a plan from Cairo to Egypt. Do you suggest a certain plan over another. Did you fly to Luxor the same day you landed or did you fly the following day. If you stayed over night can you recommend a hotel. Should we stay in at the airport hotel or get one downtown. I am not sure if you did other videos. Did you get Egyptian pounds at the airport or before you flew into Cairo? What about SIM cards. Did you get one there or you used your own carrier? I am flying from the US to Cario and not sure the best or most comfortable plan to take. I have so many other questions, but I am going to leave it there. If anyone that reads this can give me some insight I would appreciate it. We plan on spending a day or two before and after the cruise in Cairo. If anyone can suggest hotels, modes of travels, should I contact someone in Cairo to help facilitate our stay. Sort of light tour guides. Thanks in advance.

    • @theusualtraveller
      @theusualtraveller  Рік тому +2

      Lots of questions! So, I flew to Cairo where I spent 3 nights. If you want to see the Pyramids and some museums, you should spend a couple of days here. I stayed in a hotel in the city, but now I would book Le Meridien at the airport. I had lunch there before going home, it's a nice hotel, with a great pool and good food. Besides, you can book a driver at the hotel that will take you anywhere. It's safer to travel the city. I paid 50$ for one day. I took an old phone with me and bought a SIM card at the airport, so I had 2 phones. And I exchanged money there as well. There are hotels where you can exchange money too. I then flew from Cairo to Luxor on the 5am plane. It takes about one hour.
      Feel free to ask more!

      I enjoyed walking around the village but I didn’t eat there, so I can’t tell you about the food. We had some refreshments in a small café which was nice. Just be careful with what you eat and drink outside the hotels and boats. You can easily get sick.

      Not at all. Doing the Nile cruise is quite relaxing. You visit the temples early in the morning for 2/3 hours and get back to the boat for lunch. After lunch we sail, so you rest at the pool or in your cabin. This was the first vacation where I took naps!
