I think it would be useful for noobs to know where to 'buy' a lap, get a card, connect it and use it to enter the track. Pretty sure they added the ability to scan your phone recently but would be a nice refresher
If you happen to be stranded in Nürnberg by accident next year: Go someplace that offers local cuisine, then order Drei im Weggla and one or more Seidla and you will have a good time anyways :)
5:55 German car insurance gets new general amendments regarding Touristenfahrten, effective prior to next season These affect all insurers operating in Germany
The amendments are to the general terms every insurer must fulfil (AKB Allgemeine Kraftfahrzeug Bedingungen 2025). These terms were harmonized regarding track use and every insurer must inform customers. Whether better or worse depends on previous coverage In the individual contract.
You have already covered it, but can you do another video about Nordschleife track etiquette and other safety aspects? Many tourists dont know it and can cause dangerous situations.
THANK YOU Misha!!!! I just started to plan my 1st trip to Nurburgring and this video helped me soo much!!! you answered a lot of my questions.. oh, i pozdrav iz HR :D I do have a car that you would maybe be interested.. 2 actually but 2nd is still not ready
Always useful to check the insurance on your car. Some examples I have heard from colleagues (my eyesight means I don't drive): Not insured on airfields. The main access road to our old offices ran across an airfield. We sometimes visit locations where a similar thing applies. Not insured on military bases: We work for the military. Quite apart from visits to other locations its possible an insurer could class our offices as a base - our union recommends that you get in writing that they don't. Not insured for use for work purposes: Yep, insured on the drive to and from work, (possibly) not insured when driving between offices. Note that we sometimes have to drive across a military airfield to visit somewhere for work purposes... That's one reason why we use Hire Cars with a contract that covers everything insurance-wise. Now, go check your Life (and/or Medical) Insurance. Are your loved ones still covered if you die in an accident on a racetrack? Are you covered to be flown back with injuries? If you are from the US, or somewhere else without universal healthcare, are you covered for treatment?
Well timed video, I'm going to plan my trip over the Christmas break and starting booking in the new year. Hopefully it aligns with when you will be available to do a lap.
I hope I can bring my mk1 Clio Baccara there and convince a friend with a 16v or a Williams to go with me. I've literally been prepping my car since we first spoke in 2019... But with a low budget and new rules keeps getting more and more tough to bring my old 95 Clio, I know it can reach a lot more than 130 no problem... The main difficulty has been dealing with brake fade, even already running Renault 19 turbo diesel sleeves plus brakes, improved a lot but... Next step is literally desperate one of getting rid of the fog lights and air vents thought there to the disks. 2025, April, mark this date. If anything wrong happens, I put down the towel. Hope everything goes to plan. I enjoyed all the content of this year that went way too fast and ended up with a broken leg 😅 Cheers Misha. That your life keeps going as you wish. Health always first ❤
My luck, tried to do a lap with you multiple times within last 2 years, a few times you were busy and the other times we had rain fog etc for multiple days and the last time decided to crash my car there in the rain (MG ZR 160), without insurance lucky I just hit the concrete on adenau bridge 😅 €800 total all cost included and 1 car less 😢 Now new winter project, prepping my new old rare car a a MG ZS v6 for you to drive OEM+ (big brake kit and some other minor goodies) hopefully my weather timing will be better this year 😂❤
Can you make video about setting up a car (stock) for the track for lets say 3 to 5 laps maximum, maybe one lap with you where you go full send! For example, brake fluid, brake pads, uhm cooling stuff and so on. General stuff of course that are a must for every car :)
The likelihood is you won’t be able to reach the cars limits when you’re asking this, so good tyres will do the job. However in relation to what you asked: - Good tires (PS4S, PS5, C7, or semis) - RSL29 pads are my favourite (and mishas I’m sure he’s said this) but most track focused pads will do the job for your level of driving eg 2500s, I don’t at all recommend EBC, stay away. - oil cooler, and if DSG then dsg cooler - high temperature brake fluid (600+)
Better brake pads (EBC Blue Stuff) and brake fluid (RBF600) are really all you need to get started. Tires and such are nice but even on bad tires you can enjoy multiple laps if your brakes aren't cooking. For reference, my 500 Abarth would cook the stock brakes after 3/4th of a lap.
i think you can manage 3 laps on a stock car without going to hard, lots of coasting towards a corner, at least thats how id approach it. if you wanna go harder for a few laps, then the 2 other commenters here have already pointed some good things out.
Edit: In app there is a setting for it. At the browser there isn't... I am interested in this video, but it has an automatic audio overlay that is horrendous. Not possible to change audio track... I don't know, if it is a setting you can change, but pls have a look into it. Thank you
perfect timing for the video since I will be at the legendary, wet dream of every man, nordschleife next year. but on my bike, hopefully I wont get driven over some porsche or mini that ignores a yellow light and no overtaking. Idk how that works but at the office were you have to buy the ticket, is there like a special edition or something like that? Like for first time drivers? I want to keep the ticket as souvenir
Is there any additional insurance you can get if your insurance doesn’t cover the Nürburgring or are you just screwed with having to rent something or chance it?
i think if "somebody" in Nürnberg opened a racetrack it would really help a lot of people.(it also would be very busy too)..also the "Nürburgring" wouldn't be as overrun by loads and loads of folk from "elsewhere" and congest the Ring....just saying...cheers
Would love to see if there is a difference in the rules between just GP and the Nordschleife being that the GP is officially a track. Would you still be liable for a third party
I have a question, what if I want to camp at the ring ? So have a camper and tow my road legal race car as well for a weekend any recommendations for that ?
UK cards are accepted in most places - supermarkets, fuel stations, etc but many restaurants prefer cash. 27 Ventisette in Adenau for example is cash only, the Devil's Diner in the TF car park has a minimum spend on cards, others are similar. Also be aware your bank will almost always charge a Euro to Sterling conversion fee of a few percent as well (on every transaction), so I'd recommend bring cash for most day to day stuff and use the card as backup.
@2:01 The VW Beetle 1303 S has a top speed of 142 kph. @5:37 Isn't the Nürburgring a public road, just a special kind of it? The advantages of a rental are that there is limited liability - still an excess - and you wouldn't destroy your own car. 🤔
I wish there was a public transportation from Cologne or somewhere nearby. I'm planning to go there in early May. Do you have any advice besides renting car?
XD seen this video made me realize the mistake I made, but also I didn't made a trip to the Nürburgring it just happens That I went there also it happens there was a race that day :(. Good thing is I saw a endurance race but I could not drive on the Green hell.
easy to get that wrong nürnberg is nuremburg in english language wich is kinda odd. people are not aware that its different in german and rush while reading. but funny that so many people fall for it. good that the ring isn't in frankfurt oder. if track is closed there is just limited options for what to do that does not require long drives, or eats into the travel budget if not planned. so bring your hiking shoes or a bycicle. exploring the ring from the "sidewalk" actually shows its size and track details you might ot have been aware of before.

Noobs, haha. We're all pros. :D
@@SuperBubba01 Hahaha. I have a green Nurb card and have done a couple laps but not sure what to do when it expires, gotta stay informed 🤣

So most people drive uninsured on the ring because most insurance companies don't include the ring?
About the license plate can I write Kraut power on some paper tape it on the front
