  • In line with the dictates of the new curriculum which emphasis empowering pupils with practical skills, WISDOM OAK SCHOOL embarked on a filming journey. This made us the first school to make short films written by the pupils, acted by the pupils, and shot by the pupils. The new dispensation education model's shove of the heritage-based curriculum is to produce entrepreneurs as opposed to job-seeking pupils. It is empowering pupils to tell Zimbabwean stories from a local perspective, reducing reliance on foreign media which is actually a positive move the country needs at the moment to instill proper ethics of Hunhu / Ubuntu in pupils. A person with these philosophies upholds attitudes, values, and lifestyles consistent with societal expectations exercising moral decisions and acting responsibly.
Filming welcomes all types of artists bringing out talent that has not been tapped in as much in our country. There is a lot that is involved when making a film? Filmmaking involves many arts like acting, music, and writing, and requires diverse skills to put together. It’s often called “the world’s most collaborative art form,” developing diverse skills in a co-acting environment. Beyond developing artistic and technical skills, filmmaking also nurtures pupils’ skills in leadership, literacy, communication, creative writing, and project management, preparing them for future careers. It also enhances technical skills like camera handling, lighting, and editing which are essential in Enjoy this wonderful film made by The Wisdom Oak Children
