- In the first challenge of 2022, the lads are given ten pieces of corn, ten pellets and ten maggots to fish a match! They have an hour and a half or until they run out of bait to catch the biggest weight. But who will get 2022 off to a winning start?

Top these. I'm not even a match angler, but never miss a challenge. I've got a challenge idea I think would be good i call it
"The bite back challenge" both angler's get to take 10 items of tackle from the other, it could be anything they want, from favourite hooks to poles/ rods. Each caught fish will buy back an item of their choice, first one to get the kit back wins. Just to add another twist, when one catches they can choose to buy back an item or take a bought item back from the other. 👍

Many moons ago there was a Des Taylor SBS Baits (i think) additive called Crazy Kola. It used to be great when added to expanders.

Great video, as always. Just wondering though, now that Andy and Jamie are both with sonubaits now, and the pro expanders only need soaking in water to work, do they now do this or still put them in a bag corner with a bit of water like they did with the old style expanders?
Both have there uses, so for all the skimmer fishing we've been doing traditional expanders are the go to. But the pro expanders were mega in the summer for bomb and pellet hookbaits.

It doesn't matter how good you are. when the fish are all on top of each other sometimes its impossible to work out the correct depth to fish as this video proves.

Leeches in the mouth does not mean that the fish was dormant. It occurs when a fish nose-dives into the silt as they fight. This is a common occurrence at one of my local lakes and, because the water is shallow and clear in winter, you can see the water cloud up in the places that the fish has hit the bottom.

I'd never have thought such a minimal amount of bait could be so entertaining. Suppose it helps to be fishing somewhere you could walk across the pond on the backs of the fish without getting your footwear wet though.
