Fishing with the old man he thought he had caught a carp and it turned out to be a 10Lb tench. It was massive and cost me a tenner on losing out to biggest fish. Great chat again lads 👏👏
Had a 6lb 9oz chub when I lived down south of Throop on the stour, and same river had a 15lb sea trout on bread fishing for Mullet in Christchurch Marina
My most impressive fish was a 14lb 2oz Zander from a fen drain way back in 2004, beating my pb by 4lb! It looked absolutely mahoosive in the net. Of fish seen but not caught by me, I saw a venue record 37lb mirror waiting in a net to be photographed which was impressive to see.
Another very interesting rodcast keep up the good work 👍 My most special catches have all been 2lb+ perch on various venues completely unexpected and made me panic when they surfaced.
I’ve been sturgeon fishing on the Fraser river in Canada Andy and had one 180lb and lost one the guide estimated at 350lb 😮 He showed us a photo of the biggest his clients had ever caught, it was approximately 1200lb and had 7 blokes holding it, unbelievable fish . I’d go back tomorrow if I could afford it
Amazed no one has mentioned a pike, think a 30lb plus pike has to be a rare sight. Personally it was a 4lb perch, but a lot of that is to do with the backstop etc.
Fished a club pairs boat match on one of the Norfolk Broad lakes, collected a trophy at our AGM for the biggest bream caught that year in a match. forget the exact weight but around 11lb. 2 oz. (1st match I ever won too!) Had quite a few 12lb + pleasure fishing though. Biggest catty 62lb. A few pb's but no records 😊
This year I caught an 18lb mirror carp on pole using .16 main line to a .13 SFL hook size 18 on double maggot at a local lake near me on the 26th of February so tight lines 🎣🎣🎣⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
Following on from this I’d love to see you both fishing for bigger fish. Love the match fishing stuff but would be amazing to see you chasing bigger. Maybe as a challenge series. My best catch was 38.5lb Mirror from Belgium. I’d love a 10lb Tench though 😊😊
The most impressive fish I've had on the bank was a Ghost Mirror Carp.. Completely White save a few golden and silver scales... Not massive, only about 2-2.5lb but absolutely stunning to look at.
Caught 2 x 2 pound Roach on Stainforth and Keadby canal simultaneously on hemp on an evening session, once in a lifetime experience, also caught a 3 pound Sturgeon last chuck on same venue on a 3 elastic. 😊
Which section? I live 50 yards away from the Stainy in Thorne and have seen some crazy fish out of it, a 7lb chub, a 12lb barbel, a 30lb carp, my own pb pike of 24lb but seen pics of a mid 30lber. Never heard of a sturgeon being caught?!?! I’ve actually seen a catfish in it, followed it for 3 pegs swimming on the top on a red hot day (only about 5lb)
3lb 1oz roach on the river weaver at 12 years old all so got 8lb net of just gudgeon in a match the same year! And a 10lb tench out of lingmere with Steve who owns the place stood talking to me as I hooked it!
i broke canal 3 hour match record with 57lb Bream on Runcorn Bridgewater... ( beaten since) and my best fish i have caught was a 12lb 10oz tench on the pole........ took me 4years and 3 months to land the bugger hahah. i have caught bigger fish but that tench... wow.
ask mick vials about the 5lb ide in ravensfield ponds in rotherham..enormous things, I caught a 3.5lber and I had to ask the guy at the next peg what it was
I've been lucky over the years I've had some nice fish a 7lb12oz tench out of my local canal I've had a 11lb 9oz bream and I've had both an eel and a chubb out the severn at 6lb exactly my biggest fish is a 20lb pike but I've never had a 20lb carp although I've weighed 2 at 19lb 12oz lol
Not a fish but two awsome sights whilst fishing the first was in the early eighties when fishing on the river Dane at Holmes Chapple I watched a Kingfisher flying upstream towards me this was awsome but many years later in the early 2010s I was fishing with my young Grandson at Border fisheries peg 3 on the specimen lake and we saw TWO Kingfishers perched together in the tree above us and witnesed one of them dive and catch a small fish this was incredable and I remember telling my Grandson he wolud probably nevere see two together again, awsome sight to see.
Record i held on a fly fishery in Durham when i was 15 was a 14lbs 7oz rainbow trout. I was entered into a country wide masters competition because of it. This thing was built like a rainbow coloured carp 😂
Great chat guys. 😂. Be great to see you all on the hunt for a double figure bream/barbel. You’ve left me feeling depressed though. As looking back I’ve not caught anything you’d class as remarkable now! 🐳🥲. Time to don the camo. And harness the inner Wilson. 😂😂
I think Richard should take you both out for a 48hr carp fishing match with carp gear.
Defo they could do rodcasts while there .
@@stevenmoses5807 sit there for 2 days to catch maybe 2 or 3 fish behind beepers and rod pods hahahahahahaha who would die of boredom first
@@yourloveismydrug6537 Jamie obviously.andy
A mate caught a 3lb 1oz roach on the Ribble in the early 90s. Best fish I've ever been witness to.

A 3-5lb albino sturgeon on the feeder was amazing but I’ve always had 3 perch over 3lb from 3 different venues. That’s my go to most of the tome
