i love how this somehow manages to be both in and out of character for bowser at the same time
It's so out of character it circles back to being in-character
Yeah like this is absolutely too cerebral for Bowser, but at the same time I know he'd complain about logical inconsistencies like that.
I also like that he has enough faith in Mario being Mario that no matter what happens he'll always try to save Peach.
@@SobiTheRobot He literally just watched Peach get rescued from marrying Booster without the aid of wishes prior to this conversation.
Arguing about whose wishes take priority and free will is above his displayed intelligence. But if he understood that, the kick through the roof is entirely in character, even if he’s more likely to punch him through the window.
@@Soot5007 That actually makes sense on why Bowser thinks it doesn’t make sense. I mean, Peach has faith in Mario, but it didn’t really need to have a wish to make it happen; Mario is just a chivalrous guy.
Mallow from Pokemon replacing Mallow from SMRPG. Never would I thought that I would see that lol

It's kind of cute how much faith Bowser has in Mario.
Not so much faith more than just being insulted by Geno disregarding Bowser's own hard work.
I feel like Mario and Bowser are like sonic and eggman where they operate on respect Bowser knows Mario's gonna come to thwart him and Mario probably knows Bowser will come along to steal the princess or whatever but they respect each other enough to know that it'll always come down to the fair and square fisticuffs it's a respectful exchange and whenever they need to team up to face something greater they put things aside
@@spirittail4958I mean, they throw a party or race together like every friday
@@black_m1n825eggman and sonic have raced together too but they've also worked together for the greater good same as Mario and bowser im just more so saying in canon both sides are similar in terms of how they operate it's moreso just an everyday occurrence that its not so lethaly serious like in the remake of superstar saga Bowser was always about just beating mario not killing him he wants to prove himself superior and have mario grovel same with eggman he respects sonic but still wishes to win they both have a sort of thrill of the hunt thing going on where they want things to always more or less be between them and never have someone else steal their thunder which ironically enough has been pointed out by them multiple times
It's pretty much a fact Bowser loves the game as much as kidnapping peach.
Sure he wants to win, but what's the point if there's no challenge?

“Free will, chumps!” My new favorite phrase.
I love how in character that line is, after an entire monologue about wishes that doesn't even remotely sound like something he would say.
Ditto 🤣
Exacty. Free will is paramount:
7 Now there was no law against a man’s belief; for it was strictly contrary to the commands of God that there should be a law which should bring men on to unequal grounds.
8 For thus saith the scripture: Choose ye this day, whom ye will serve.
9 Now if a man desired to serve God, it was his privilege; or rather, if he believed in God it was his privilege to serve him; but if he did not believe in him there was no law to punish him.
10 But if he murdered he was punished unto death; and if he robbed he was also punished; and if he stole he was also punished; and if he committed adultery he was also punished; yea, for all this wickedness they were punished.
11 For there was a law that men should be judged according to their crimes. Nevertheless, there was no law against a man’s belief; therefore, a man was punished only for the crimes which he had done; therefore all men were on equal grounds.

He’s taking a PIiiiIIIIIiiiisssSSSSssssssSSs.
The fact that Bowser is actually offended by the idea that Mario only tries to save Peach because of what is essentially "thoughts and prayers" is both hilarious and oddly wholesome. He WANTS his victory to be a test of his skill, not a predetermined fate.
Everyone underestimates Bowser. He learned to talk while Mario out hearing speaking the dollar store version of what 2nd graders think Italians sound like
i love this comment
He did talk alot in those old Dos games

I love how the animation goes to stop motion frame rates for the brief Phoenix Wright scene.

What are you talking about? Mallow has always looked like that. I see no difference whatsoever.
I LOVE that Bowser is completely verbose and smarter than everyone in the room
Well, there doesn't seem to have been a koopa kingdom before Bowser, so he's probably not as stupid as he acts. Which makes me wonder if the whole kidnapping Peach thing is just some "oceana has always been at war with eurasia" type deal.
In the original Awkward Zombie comic, he’s also the only one with realistic proportions, while everyone else looks like their cute, rounded sprites. It just works.
@@KiraSlithYou just blew my mind. That is an incredibly interesting take.

Peach: ... *I really need to stop getting kidnapped*
I love how mario is just basically a prop through this whole exchange. Picked up by the neck, YEETED across the room, laying on the ground nose-forward... Even though he's the game's main character, he's just... A background element, lol
Well, maybe if he talked more...
Tbf, Bowser can literally throw Mario in battle with some of his weapons
I think it's actually an interesting example of their dynamic in the RPGs (when Bowser is friendly, that is).
Bowser is strong, capable, commanding, but is just kinda a jerk without Mario to push around. But at the same time, without Mario, he'd probably not really be doing anything for the sake of good. That's because Mario is the main driver for the people around him to push themselves to work for good, often without them even realizing. For example, despite being the main character, Mario is so humble that he can get his enemies to help him.
He's able to do this as he's willing to let them push him around, because he knows that their dynamic is usually adversaries. So letting them enforce that can allow them be more comfortable in helping. He's so humble that he often has equal footing in dialog, even in gibberish form, because he knows that the others are just as important, and need to be accommodated in the group just as much.
Basically, Bowser is a massive showboat, and Mario is willing to go along with his antics to make him feel comfortable and accepted in the friend group.
Silent protagonists for ya
And here I thought a ProZD and AwkwardZombie collab couldn't get any better.
Ah! So that's why I remember seeing this before.
So if it's a parody of SMRPG that was a comic by awkward zombie that was voice covered by PROZD that was Animated by Geno inside sfm that was uploaded to youtube, then... _WHO'S FLYING THE PLANE?!?!_

I see Bowser i click
Bowser is best boy.
Same boat
I definitely agree 👍 to quote him he is the king of awesome
:)
Ah, a simple person!
Bowser speaks of the insignificance of wishes, yet the following RPG has him steal all the wish making for himself. And Mario saves Peach anyway.
That ironically proves Bowser's point.
bowser completely forgets that his castle has been taken over by the same dudes who got rid of the power of wishes
Oh, he has problems with those pricks, but he's getting rid of those freeloaders to have his castle back, not because of some fatalistic bullshit! That Sawdust-brained chump Geno can argue self-fulfilling prophesies all he wants if it makes him happy, but it doesn't change anything.
@@blackheartzerotheundergrou3225 Bowser wrote this post
Come on guys, stop it.
Yeah, but his point is kinda that wishes either aren't all that effective, or they're not even real to begin with. Would you say Mario has only been able to save princess peach all this time BECAUSE of the existence of stars and wish power? And since those guys got rid of the star power, rather than harvesting it for their selves, that would basically mean everyone is still on an even playing field, especially since those wishes barely do jack until the end, which makes it even easier to question their effectiveness.
Another thing most of there characters in the party are there out of free will not because someone wished that a random puppet, a cloud who thought they were a frog, peach, and bowser would help Mario. (May be wrong)-Even Geno joined he could of found someone else to help him but HE decided that he would go to Mario and friends for help.
I like how when he goes “what” at the end his pupils shrink
He doesn’t look confused, just terrified
Because he knows full well what bowser saying that means for him

Also me: Wow Bowser is relatable
This gives me r/Iam14andthisisdeep vibes
Bowser in platformer Mario: Villain
Bowser in Mario RPGs: Anti-Hero
Man i loved my boy bowser even when i was a kid
He's annoying because he's overused... then again saying he's overused is like saying the surface of the sun is pretty warm.
Also his personality isn't funny like this, it's just "Gwahaha! You'll never stop me now!" kind of bland garbage in the mainline series.
Always thought RPG bowser was superior and that they really needed to adopt this attitude for the main series. Seriously, imagine how much more exchanges between him and other characters there would be, that were actually worth seeing, instead of "Bwa! Mario! I will end you!" @@Vaquix000
The best part is...Bowser in the RPGs has the perfect personality for that kind of interaction. The brains? Eeeehhhhh maybe not, but if he did, he would just steal the show all the time lol
Bowser really is the best in all the mario RPGs lmao
he has the brains, it's just that he prefers the brute force way of thinking most of times.
Why is it so fitting that Bowser is the only one moving normally when he's talking about free will, while everyone else (but Geno) is glitching out all over the place?
Actually, Peach and the Mushroom Chancellor (presumably a young Toadsworth) are functional; it’s Mallow and Mario who are broken.
I appreciate that Bowser respects Marios resolve to save Toadstool, and flat out admits how much of a beast Mario is, for rescuing her every time. . . in this scenario
*FREE WILL CHUMPS!*

I agree, but not in a drawing mood to put it up on my online shop
@Darwin I'm too lazy damit!

HELL YEAH!
Seeing Mallow bounce around with her little idle animation is honestly the cutest thing I have ever seen and I love it so much!
And this is why Paper Mario, despite reusing the plot, added the part where, not only are wishes not getting granted until Mario finishes his adventure, but ALSO having the Wish granting McGuffin in the wrong hands so there's also the idea that it's not JUST about the wishes it's about making sure the power isn't being misused and screwing the world. Because Bowser with the Star Rod was literally invincible until Mario got the Star Spirits to give him a thing that can counter it. Meaning the adventure has purpose, because it'd be impossible to stop him from just... TAKING OVER THE WORLD until he finished it.
Super Mario RPG really only has you collecting the Star Pieces to fix Star Road... which isn't super necessary as shown in this vid, with the only other purpose it serves being to give you a really long out of your way path to get into Bowser's castle because the bridge breaks at the beggining...
You have a good point maybe if they perhaps wished for a bridge or something to help them against the smithy gang then it would've been better literally if they just made it so smithy and his gang couldn't be permanently defeated unless they wished for something that was lost to time or whatever then it would've made the whole reason for finding the stars valid because it was required to win not just to do as you ran along
Yeah, IMO SMRPG could have cut all the star road stuff and just had Smithy and his army invading from another dimension and Mario and friends teaming up to stop him, and it wouldnt change the game THAT much. The Star Road stuff feels like it's just there to give the game a set of collectible McGruffins, and a reason for Geno to come help.
@@CharlotteML1I'm not saying per sae it wouldn't have worked with the star road side plot albeit Geno being a strange being from above possessing a doll to help stop smithy would've still worked without the star road reason I'm saying that given how other games have built up star road I think they should've made it more of a pivot in order to win, like say they needed to wish for a certain item that was destroyed in the past or something like that in order to banish the smithy gang back to where they came from it'd make sense that not only the smithy gang broke the star road to prevent that but it gave us a reason to repair the star road to make the wish and stop smithy. One little cliche plot point makes the entirety of the star road subplot flow so much better it's what I wish they did in the actual game and they could've kept this silly conversation as well since they still need wishes to be granted
When Bowser is the voice reason, you know the rules of your universe are shit
Knowing Geno, he would use the Star Pieces to wish him to get invited into Smash
He's using them to actively avoid being picked
That could work but then Sakurai would just go:
"FREE WILL CHUMPS!"
Biggest oof.
As a Geno fan I hold the biggest L there cause I love Smash.

I love how this is wildly different from how bowser normally acts yet it manages to still be in character.
Star road makes wishes happen, It doesn't cover things you can do by yourself. I'd say it makes the world more favorable for that outcome to happen and the people who RUN Star road are low key gods of fate.
If that's the case, then Mario is totally incapable of rescuing Peach without wishes.
@@MetroidJr1220 He can but think about this, What happens if Mario gets stuck or something messes up? Wishes help with things outside someone's control because Wishes are pointless if you can do it yourself. An example would be Your best friend is stuck in a Coma with a very low chance of recovery but Star road can help with that. It's in control of things people don't. It's the physically place that makes things you wish for possible and when It's destroyed then those Wishes can't happen. That kind of thing could cripple the hopes and dreams of everyone in the world.
@@mr.gameandtime8432 But then that implies that he always gets stuck or something is always messed up, since apparently without wishes Peach would never be rescued, all things considered.
@@MetroidJr1220 That could also be Bowser’s wish of making sure Peach doesn’t get rescued, so it really depends on the capability of Mario himself.
i think it's more likely that star road grants the wishes of people who just aren't strong enough to have their wishes granted by their own power.
like, bowser is strong enough to kidnap peach, fight mario, all that stuff, so he doesn't need the help of the star road. but for Random Toad #47 who really wants to help their family after the latest Goomba Armada Attack of Death stole most of their money, the star road helps them.
I just love Geno’s voice on those first two lines. “The star road has been destroyed, I’m here to fix it.”
I love how bowser even looks like he is smiling after punting Geno
the fact that years later, this gem of a joke still persists makes me so happy
Geno: "We need to fix the Star Road or no one's wishes will ever come true!"
Bowser: "Haha, b i t c h ."
i love how bowser’s mouth goes from smooth movements normally to the blocky mouth movement in the ace attorney segment
0:30 I love how Geno's eyes slowly return to normal while trying to explain the plan
I love how solid Bowser's arguement is. Not only that, he reinforces through example

You did an excellent job of transferring the humour from the comic and prozd dub to this animation style. I love how expressive (or dead in Mario’s case) the characters are!
