I’ve had my Focus Titanium for over 5 years now. I can’t fault it. The quick clear heated windscreen is a massive time saver on those icy mornings. Getting 50mpg average that’s doing a 20 mile drive to work. The handling is top notch, great gear change and reasonable performance on the public roads. I’m due to change it now but I can’t bring myself to get rid of it tbh. Does everything I need.
its people like yourself Barry that we all wish to meet on our life travels...genuine, straight to the point and you say it how it is!! Keep the videos coming Mr C👍
Just bought one of these at 23 after I unfortunately wrote off my Fiesta. The car itself feels longer but it's something I'll need to get used to, Its such a lovely but still fun car to drive as it still has that sporty feel and I definitely prefer the Focus in terms of spec and safety features over my Fiesta. I got the 1 litre 125 eco boost and it still gives me good fuel economy, a good little punchy engine.
I have 15 model as a work car. Can't fault it. It is an ex-fleet car. When I bought it with 180k on it the computer was reading an average of 73mpg. Real world conditions with all urban driving I average 50mpg. After 6 months of ownership now has 198k on it. Drives exactly as it did 18k later, perfectly. Only had to buy consumables, tyres, pads, discs and a service. Has to be said it has been well looked after with 19 stamps in the service book (1 by me)
Good review as always Barry. Would you believe I actually was strongly considering buying one (the Focus gearbox gives such satisfaction to use); but the one thing put me off was the infotainment. The large centre knob being used for scrolling through ones FM list for tuning purposes is a waste. It does not act as a scroll knob through the various menus (and its the exact same setup on the new 2019 model focus)....like you can't turn the knob to scroll through ones radio or music list when driving....Its sounds such a petty thing but having to scroll with my finger on a touchscreen while driving is a. dangerous but also b.stressful. If only there was a way of changing the use of the knob I'd have hands down bought that model focus (stline trim).
I've owned both a Ford Focus titanium x and a mk 7 Golf, they are both brilliant cars. I found the Focus more fun and sharper to drive than the Golf, however I found the Golf more comfortable and refined to travel in.. However I'm talking about cars that are 7-8 years old now so can't talk for the new models. I think which one is best really depends on what the driver wants from the car. One thing I like about Fords is you get a lot more toys for your money compared to VW!
This car dies have headlamp wash but the headlights have to be switched on for them to work. I know this because my mums car is very similar to yours albeit the 1.5 EcoBoost 182 rather than the 1.5 TDCi but great cars
I have a similar car except that it is an auto and an estate and I can confirm that under normal driving it is impossible to get anywhere near the quoted mpg figures and I am a sensible driver . The only thing I don’t like is the position of the cruise control , I previously had a 2012 model and the cruise control was much better placed . Overall it is a very fine car and I would recommend it without hesitation .
Excellent Video. Just wondering whats the road noise like at motorway speeds as i have seen other reviews mention that when running on 18's there is a fair bit of tyre noise at motorway speed..Also, would an Android phone be able to be connected via USB cable to the sync system like you did with your iphone? And finally, does the front armrest in the centre slide forward and backward? Thanks
One of the best driving cars I’ve had, part ex’d into a Q3 as the active headlights started to wander and point down , that was a mistake. The Q3 is average in most areas whereas the focus was class leading.
I like the car I've got 65 titanium x 1.5 tdci, but I find the clutch can be bit off its jeans some times. The sports serpension can be bit bumpy .Still nice drive but could be better
I know I’m a bit late but no I believe it doesn’t have it officially. Maybe it could be coded in. My fiesta tit x doesn’t have it and even my parents 2020 Focus don’t have auto lock. Ford just don’t like it
I use to have a 61 plate Titanium but some idiot wrote my car off. Anyway I have just bought this model in silver after watching your video. P.S I couldn't stop laughing at your comments about other drivers. Sound just like me 🤣👍
I currently have a astra j 1.6 2013 petrol and it's underpowered I'm thinking of buying this car ..is the engine strong not bothered about speed just need to be strong my astra struggles on hills even on the motorway I have to drop it to 4th sometimes depending on the incline...
Nice, I've got a mk3 on a 64 plate, and just looking at the new shape for whenever I need to upgrade (love the Focus as a model) I presume the Apple phone function has an Android alternate? No worry if it doesn't as the standard Ford navigation (I have Titanium Nav model) does me fine. Great review.
A bit naughty? thats the official figures, they are the figures which Autotrader quotes, that are in the brochures, and are reproduced on our website, whats naughty about that? they are a datum point, some people have loads of luggage, some people drive with 5 people in, some people dive like idiots etc etc, where do you stop?
@@BarrieCrampton Quote from Honest john website there more realistic there drivers real MPG i drive by myself and dont speed, i love the car just not good MPG like most manufacturers quote way below real driving
I had 1.6 tdci 15 plate I was getting 55 mpg around town. And on motorway I reached 71mpg . I am getting a 1.5tdci I 3 days time they do 65 around town, and I've been in one reached 83 mpg on motorway in 1.5 tdci
I'm in the UK, I dont know what to say other than its a right hand drive car and its a long way to come to video a car, but i do like America so i am tempted 😎
I imagine most Americans are not intelligent enough to drive a manual. As for the review being stupid because its right hand drive? It’s a British review for British audiences. The only thing stupid about this video is your comment.
Fords are always underrated. Solid, reliable cars
My last 3 ford's hsve been mondeo, excellent cars, and sll passed onto family who love themtoo
Plus inexpensive parts(if ever needed)

thanks for that, much appreciated thanks for watching
A very underrated car the focus. A great drivers car. With outstanding handling
I’m picking mine up in a few days after test driving it today, it drives like a damn dream
Ford Focus are brilliant to drive a friend of mine got one of them very reliable. Great review

Great review, I'm getting one on Friday, can't wait to see what is like to drive 👌
Throwback to that car park where you used to start your videos. Great video as always.

The focus is a great car, really like them I think they are on par or even better than a Golf, especially to drive

Should be much cheaper to service than golf, with vw rip off pricing👍
Great review but must point out it's 8v not 16v diesel engine!!!

I can’t wait to have this soon l don’t know why people says it’s not a good car 🤷🏾♀️
great car, great for everyday use, cheap to run and mostly easy to fix if it goes wrong
That’s s loverly focus Bary , I’d be happy in that car for sure

The jazz auto return better mpg than a manual box

Brilliant going to enjoy the car
What a crackin' little car that is! Thanks a lot Barry...

A focus class leading??? lol 😂
I have to say that i totally agree with him, and so does Chris Harris
Barrie you need to bring out a drivers CD 😀
Great Idea

Does this car have auto lock? If so, how do you activate it. I've watched many videos on how it is done, however It doesn't work on European models
Automatically locking doors when you drive off
i cant remember sorry, but it will be a function in the menu under "driver convenience" or something like that
I know I’m a bit late but no I believe it doesn’t have it officially. Maybe it could be coded in. My fiesta tit x doesn’t have it and even my parents 2020 Focus don’t have auto lock. Ford just don’t like it
thanks mate. Nice drive. Did your foot feet on the foot rest? It looks quite small and with a triangular shape.
Does this cr come with an auto gearbox,😮 and
Just bought one

What’s the refinement on this car like?
Have you driven the 1.5 EcoBoost engine in the focus?
I get this in 2 weeks time 2021 model
Excellent, enjoy !
Is that a key in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?! 🤣😂 I'll see myself out.
I have one never get more than 55 MPG on a run hes just quoting ford official figures which is a bit naughty
