Long shot of the score board after Bradman has made 309 not out. Bradman pushes way through crowd who, pat him on the back etc. English team taking the field. Bradman goes onto the field. McCabe follows him to the wicket. Long elevated shot of Larwood bowling to MacCabe. Elevated shots of the play and runs being made. Elevated shot of the Australians taking the field. Close shots of Ponsford batting. Various other shots of play. Sound Cheers-clapping. Commentator.

Yes unlike today’s shit commentators!
Sir Donald Bradman was the GOAT in his era. Sir Garfield Sobers in his, Sir Viv Richards in his and to each his own regarding Savhin Tendukar and Brian Lara.

Bradman scored heavily because there was no competitive bowler or country like westindies or africa.he could have averaged 5o or less than that if he played against mighty westindies
@@philanthropist6969 He "could" have. Moreover,if we compare Bradman with the batsmen in his age then he was too good because if bowling was not competitive in that age then why is it that other batsmen of Bradman's age weren't able to come close to his record. We always say this and that because Bradman was very good and his record seems unrealistic and that's why people give excuses....
Bradman overhyped ? Those who make these kinds of rubbish comments, are their brais in place ? If you want to compare, you should do so between players of that era. In the period Bradman played, nobody comes anywhere close to him - be it amassing runs, big centuries, scoring speed, total domination to the point of devising strategies only to counter him. Post-Bradman, again no batsman looked like coming close to him. So, what comparison and what overrating ?
Divilliers , Tendulkar ,Kohli combined together are not even 50 percent of this legend

Of course Bradman is the GOAT. Goes without saying but at the end it says "and here are the England openers, Hobbs and Sutcliffe". You could cry when you compare that to the dross we wheel out in 2022.
Good to see' tossing the coin' being done closer to the stands rather than wasting time to go upto the middle of the wicket like they do these days. I wish that the same old practice returns again!
Why not?!
Did England have colored jumpers for home matches then. I know they used to wear MCC colours in away tests.
MCC arranged all test tour until ECB and it's predecessor born.

Unlikely in terms of his average. If he had not have done it every test player would say impossible.
Lovely to see white flannels, white bats and white stumps with no advertising plastered all around! Although I must admit it is a bit better since Specsavers took over the sponsorship. At least their colours are green and (I think) white. The advertising is a bit more discreet than that gaudy red, and a bit more of wood and willow is on display. (Not than I can watch much now that it's on Sky and not the BBC. Which is wrong. Cricket is our national sport, one of them, and should not be hived off to private sources.)
What that time crowd

Hayden had no such problem, but then Taylor was always a gentleman both on and off the field in sharp contrast to some of his teammates.
👏
Don Bradman hit only 6 sixes of his full test career do you no this thing
if you have ever attempted to hit a ball 80 yards, as boundaries commonly were in those days, with the type of bats they used, you can understand very easily why sixes just weren't really a thing.
He had a crappy bat so he only hit it along the ground
@@emporatikatrox afaik in t20 matches, boundary usually pulled 10 metres inward, make 6 easier
That is because those days a "full shot clearing the playing area" not just crossing over ropes was a 'six' that is why he has only few sizes ...if today's playing conditions were then he would have hit 100+ sixes & aggregated 25000+runs ,century in each ( not just against) country ,10 300+scored ,25 200+ scores &totally 75 tons in tests........
but tell me one thing you know about playing condition on that time so alaistair cook scored 12000+ run in his whole test career why he hit only 11 sixes in test career why can its happen on this time of playing condition cook scored 12000 run and hit only 11 sixes and bradman scored 6996 and only 6 sixes on that time and this time same as both batsman capability of hitting sixes so doesn't matter on the time its depend on player six hitting capability
any one of you says that if bradman playing on this time he hit 100+ sixes so if cook play on that time and hit only 11 sixes so any of you says about of time playing condition full shot boundary its depend on player capability
Sachin is God of cricket real
James de Raat look at field spread and bowling attack and it was also single team against that is against the same bowlers so if one gets used to it then they can be on the top ........
But well you cant just remove him but he is not as great as 90's great batsmen
Rehan u crazy?!
Only Sachin
At that time bowling speed was at 105 kmph to 120kmph only
Aryan Sanan with no helmet ;)
I guess even less than that
Are you fucking stupid? Larwood bowled close to a hundred miles. There were others too. Spin bowling was on another level because of the pitches. Tell me if it was so easy then why didn't Hobbs, Hammond, Headley, Hazare, McCabe, Merchant and other great batsmen didn't score at an average close to 100? Every other batsman averages closer to Don's Bodyline average. The guy was insane.
@@mahmarehan1805 There's no evidence larwood bowled at 100 mph. And the balls back then didn't swing much. There's no wrist spin as well no variations in spin and we all know finger spinners are not the greatest turners of the cricket ball.

Good batsman in a poor era of bowling
Alereato Alereato There were some great bowlers around in those days better than the rubbish we see today!
Nah, it was all an illusion. He made them look poor. If they were around today they'd the batsmen apart.
With this technique they won't last a ball in modern cricket.. Those days bowling was gully cricket class
For you
Well then why didn't everyone average in the 80's or 90's then if it was gully cricket class? The averages below Bradman have remained much the same all the way through, if anything slightly better today, which translates to easier for the batsmen of today with better equipment, better coaching and technical advice, full time professionals practicing as their job.
I just don't Understand ....y at that time the batsmens stance was so uncomfortable...their was hardly any distance between feets and They kept their bat grounded until They wanted to hit the shot...they didn't even took a trigger Movement When Bowler just throws the Ball....
At that Cricketing era, batsmen Lacked Technique.....
You do realise that the techniques people have today are the result of years of evolution. This was near the beginning of that evolution. That was the accepted technique at the time. Look at the 80s, they sat on the back foot for most shots. A trigger movement is a very recent addition and a lot of people still don't use one. And Ricky Ponting kept his bat on the floor as did most Australian players in 2000s
@@rorybessell8280 hm...True bro..
@@aryanaheriit-kgp5200
Pretty sure trigger movement isn't essential to a batting technique 🤔
So I find it odd you saying that. Although I learned my bowling and batting technique before international T20 cricket era coming around.
Plus I don't think there's a hard and fast rule for a batting stance. Just what's comfortable enough to move the feet and play shots from.
As long as the front foot ends up next to the line of the ball and head over it, to play shots from.
Back foot shot, step and across inside the line, over the ball. Cut shot and pull shot. Pull shot, move inside the line. That is, inside the line for what a cut shot is, inside the line for what a pull shot is.
But to be fair, I was never taught any technique of any fancy reverse sweep, flick off the pads/helicopter smacked for 6, or scoop shot over the keeper's head.
@@MegaBuzzify bro...you are absolutely correct.. trigger movement is not fully essential...but being a district player..I think this movement helps to play certain shots with ease, like the flick, and the drives.
For example, take the example of virat itself.during the 2014 tour of england ,his stance was not quite opened up,his head position was not quite under the ball and he even lacked technique..which he worked on ,before the 2018 tour..
Even if you see Kl Rahul ,now he is at his peak coz he worked on his technique, stance, and Even Fitness.
If you hear the dugout commentary of many greats ,they explain the exact reason on how a particular player improved his skills..
Talking about sachin, even he belonged to the 90's period, but what separated him from the rest?..again,his stance, technique, head Position and hardwork
You know ,truly speaking, the old generation batsmen didn't completely realise the importance of fitness, technique, composure and many other aspects.
They had made cricket as their career, but not a passion.and talking about fitness,it's Virat kohli who actually started that craze of being passionate, and gave the importance of fitness and a proper diet..
So yes, that's what I wanted to say. These things look very unessential to be a good player..but at the international lvl, these little things makes a batsmen radical. That is why there is a difference between players like virat, kane, Smith kl,and few of them...and rest of the players.
(And don't think that I disrespect old gen players..that's not the case..I respect each and every player who plays cricket..coz I'm in love with this sport and I admire anyone who loves it too)
PEACE OUT ✌️✌️
Answering your last para, bro the "Technique" I meant was not to hit those ugly shots.. technique in the sense the technique of playing classy and radical shots.
The most overrated athlete to walk the planet earth.
