Bradman's overall performance in Shield and Test cricket is still without parallel. His Test average was 99.94 and his Test aggregate 6,996 runs. In 96 Sheffield Shield innings, he averaged 110.19. Bradman's total of 117 first-class centuries (including 37 double centuries) is still a record for any Australian.

He for me is the greatest cricketer of all time.
💖🙌
Not just for you he is the greatest batsman cricket ever witness on🐐❤
you can make an argument, at least statistically, that he's the most dominant team sport athlete in history. Him, Gretzky, and Jerry Rice
@@sunshine_tidings6983Add Wilt Chamberlin
I don't agree. That has to be Sir Garfield Sobers for me, who was not only a wondeful stroke making batsman but a versatile and dangerous bowler. Greatest batsman? Certainly of his day, by some way. But given that the bowlers then were mostly medium to medium fast, one wonders how he'd have coped with Holding, Donald, Lee or any of the other really express bowlers.
In the same way that Jesse Owens was dominant in his day, so was Bradman. But Jesse Owens would not have been able to beat the likes of Usain Bolt. In the same way, is Bradman really better than Tendulkar, Root, Smith, Williamson and the like?
I don't think such comparisons are fair or valid. Let's just say that, during his career, he was incomparable.
Don said it best himself, "I've seen plenty of batsmen better than me, they just keep getting out".
another day another amazing documentary by sportica.

Sir Don Bradman!💕
💖🙌
I've read a Couple of Biography's about Don Bradman , From what I've read he wasn't the most graceful of Batsman to watch , But he had an eye like a Dead Fish , And would hit just about every ball were he wanted to , As I can see from the footage his shots aren't exactly from the David Gower or Greg Chappell Batting Academy , Having said that I would love to have seen him play , Anyone who Averages 100 on uncovered wickets , Must have been Pretty Good.
and that is why the Australian Broadcast Commission's Post Office Box Number is PO BOX 9994
You have the best cricket centered documentaries. As an American, I appreciate your documentaries so that I can expand my cricket knowledge.
💗🤩
Appreciate you man 💖
Great video. Would love more videos on players from prior generations like Sobers , Hutton etc
Sure! I will do my research
Regardless of generation, opposition, pitches....to average 99.94 is just mind boggling. Even more so that he didn't have alot of not outs to boost his average. 29 centuries in 52 Tests, I don't know we will see these ñumbers again. I have high hopes for Jaiswal, there's something special about him.
💖💖
That's one record no one will even get close to💯💯🥰🥰🥰
Bradman was such an icon! He surely made Cricket a much different and significant sport during the 20th century! Legend! Very good video mate! Your research, voice and proficiency is super!
Absolutely on point!
Don bradman the greatest cricket of all time tnx bro for making this documentary about the greatest cricketer i just love your contents about cricket ❤
Not just the greatest cricketer, but, statistically, the greatest sportsman of all time.
Dude HOW THE HECK do u have like 14 k subs u should have a 100k or even a million subs by now

Another part to how successful he was was how he would keep it on the ground. It was no accident that it took so long for him to hit a six at Test level. He just wouldn't take that added risk for a couple extra runs, and why should he when he can place the ball through the gap to boundary with such relative ease.
I remember hearing about a statistical analysis done of the greats in their respective sports, like Gretsky and Jordan and so on. They found that Bradman was notably much better than his opponents to the point where he was a couple of standard deviations above what the others could manage in their respective sports.
He might not have hit many sixes, but he scored quickly even by modern standards. Nobody else has made 300 in a days play.
@@darrenjpeters I was about to say the same thing, and people argue that Bradman wouldn't be able to compete in today's test arena. I call rubbish, give him modern equipment and protective gear and he'd smash the opposition. I know this can't be done, but we can give the modern player 1930's equipment and see how they fair.
@@utha2665 Good comment, mate. Hundred percent agree.
Deserves more subs and views
Appreciate you man 💖🙌
true
Loved it
If you're Australian and love Cricket,
You've got some Don Bradman memorabilia
Facts!
I think the 90s era was one era (with Lara and Tendulkar in batting and warne, murali and wasim akram for bowling) which could take on any generation whether Bradman era or modern era. Bradman harldy had any real opposition while the fab 4 and Bumrah, boult etc. are good but but they are kindo of like (my apologies) by IPL and modern batting friendly stuff.
💖💖
The England side from the late 20s to late 30s was extremely high quality. After WW2 England was weaker, but Bradman was nearly 40. Please at least do some research about his era.
@@neilpemberton5523
Thanks for the tip!
Friendly home umpires and playing a lot of tests in home country.
Back then some umpires were afraid to give a "great" batsman out.
Bradman never faced Murali, Warne, Ambrose, Holding, Anderson, Marshall, Wasim, Waqar, Vaas, etc, etc.
Bradman wouldn't last long against those bowlers, and with neutral umpires and DRS, even worse.
Who knows?
Yes finally
💖🙌

You should make videos on cricket countries like Scotland, Ireland, Namibia, UAE, Nepal.
In the mid-70s when Lillee and Thomson were at their peak, a journalist asked Bradman how he would fare against them. He replied that he thought he wouldn't average much more than 50. The journalist asked him what he put that down to. He replied: "Well, I'm in my 60s now".

For those who don't know a mistake was found on one of the Don's scorecards and a scorer missed a boundary off his total for that game. Otherwise he would of averaged 100 but it was decided, don't know by who?
But the decision was it would make it difficult to change all the record books.
That is completely untrue
@@gswombat no it isn't, it's been known for some time

@@owendavies7452 Untrue. One newspaper article by a nobody 16 years ago and nothing since. It is untrue. Given your inability to write in english, I do doubt your ability to make sensible decisions.
@@gswombat more inability of you to do research rather than my inability to write English I believe.
As the decision was made by Wisden not to change the record books, they never denied it was a mistake, just that it would be too difficult to change the record books.
The fact remains that Bradman is 40% better than any other batsman who has ever played the game.
Statistically one of the greatest sportsperson’s of all time (any sport). Standard deviations ahead on the next best cricket batsman ever. Imagine a baseball player who played 20+ years and had a batting average twice as good as anyone who ever played the game.
Can you make any video on Irish Cricket? I'd love to see that.

Just to add a little more...
***
Sir Don Bradman was twice as good as the next athlete in his generation. Never has this been achieved by any other sports person, especially Muhammad Ali and Michael Jordan. In fact, today, his record is still 50% more than the leading players on average runs scored.
He mainly played against 3 opposition teams. England, West Indies and South Africa. Imagine how his batting record would be in India. But to a degree he is the best batsman of all time statistically.

Where are you sir videos not coming ❤
Make video on ipl pls ❤❤
The Don was statistically the best of all time and not just cricket. There is no other sportsperson that comes close to his domination. He is more than 50% better than the rest. The closest is actually a woman - Denise Annetts (81.9) but she doesn't qualify because she didn't score enough runs (819) due to limited opportunities in the women's game. However - also an amazing performance.

Stop calling the Australian cricket team "the kangaroos". That is not our name. We do not call ourselves this. We are the "baggy greens".
Who cares, we as a country are internationally known as the roos.... Its such a minute point that it's not even worth talking about.
@@theDataStudent It is worth talking about. If this channel is trying to be factual then it should be accurate. We are NOT known internationally as the roos. Only ignorant people use it as a name for Australians. Truly knowledgeable people will label each team correctly. Wallabies, Kangaroos, Socceroos, Olyroos, Kookaburras, Boomers, Opals, Joeys etc.
@@theDataStudent For decades when the Australian Rugby League team toured England, it was known as a Kangaroo Tour. So it's not accurate because that nickname was taken long ago.
@@neilpemberton5523 its really not, our emblem contains the kangaroo, we carry inflatable roos to pretty much every sporting event.... the kangaroo is an extremely common and diverse symbol used across sports, and indeed across our nation.
@@UmpireStrikesBack Truly knowledgeable people also arent creating docuseries intended for the masses, and presumably a diverse audience unfamiliar with these nicknames. imo calling us the roos is just a shorthand for Australia, using our most iconic animal, not a specific team or sport in this case.
Awful. This is like an AI generated script ripped straight from the wikipedia article on The Don.
But bradman played majorly against England in England and Australia and hardly played in indian subcontinent so we cant say whether he was good spin batsman, i think sachin is the greatest who scored in every country and against the best bowlers
Valid point
His average is not even worth talking about compared to Bradman's🥰🥰💯💯
Bradman didn't have a helmet to protect against bouncers, had years of his career lost due to world war. Let's cut the nonsense to downplay his achievements when he is by far the greatest to ever play the game.
Sachin is a legend for sure... But he's not Bradman.
Valid point but still bradman>>Sachin
