I am watching this as we are locked down due to COVID - 19 in the UK, I have to say having been to the beaches now for the last 5 years and the memories we take each time we go this video has given us a really different perspective on the scale and the layout of the areas. The Point Du Hoc footage is incredible. I hope you get a chance to more of this amazing work and share it with the world. Because the world should know the pain and sacrifice young men had to go through in securing the freedoms we have today. If watching this film does not inspire anyone to go and visit these sites I don't know what will. Looking forward to seeing more footage from your channel.
☆。*。☆。。 I'am french and I'am back from vacation in Normandy, and I took pictures of Omaha beach, Utha beach, D-Day landing beaches etc....how emotional it was...so sad...many thanks to these soldiers, these young soldiers who came to set us free, they sacrifice themselves for my country ▶ My friendships and my all gratitude from a Frenchwoman.◀ GOD BLESS YOU ☆。*。☆。。
Thank you for this. A long film? A worthy film. A worthy film. Some of my uncles fought on this beach. Because I am of Mexican descent, I would have been considered a "racial inferior" by the filthy Nazi regime. They would have either let me starve to death, worked me to death or experimented on me to death. I am free because of men, women and even children who fought against the Nazi. I am free because of them. I am free.
This is a good service to all those that cannot visit these meaningful places personally. I cannot stop to think to all the solders that lost their lives the D-Day.
just watch your film. What a great job you did love the background music goes so well with the shots thank you for sharing this moment in time from a New Zealand guy to you.
Without doubt the best overview of D Day sites I have ever seen, well done. I do hope that money can be found to restore the Vim Tiger tank one day. Rescued during the process of being cut up!
Wow, great video! Doesn't it beg the question, how on earth the allies managed to break through so many well built structures and defense's. "Atlantic wall", we owe so much! Lest we forget ..... Thanks for sharing....
Wonderful video. I loved the music combined with a hint of gunfire from the past. Very respectful of you not to fly your drone nearer to the military cemeteries. Love your work here. I’m making a 3D model of Utah Beach for a game and your aerial shots helped me a lot to get a better impression. Thanks.
My dad was with the 147th combat engineers. He landed on omaha beach the early morning of june 6th. I'm looking through a photo album of his from WW2, I see a pic of a pillbox and he wrote a caption that says "we landed 100 yrds from here". I can't discern which pillbox it is in the video tho. My dad passed 4-1-13. Damn, i miss you dad. Thanks for everything.
that was fantastic! I've seen some of these places but never like this. you did an outstanding Job! was there a special event going on when we see the military vehicles and people dressed like WWII? or was that an everyday thing?
Posti fantastici e tremendi allo stesso tempo.
Thank you for that exelent video, it's a shame the Tiger at the end is missing so many parts and is incorrectly painted. So many lives lost on both sides and these are their memorials.
When I lived in Pennsylvania there was a guy in Columbus New Jersey he had a farm or a lot of land he had a hundred times more then what you see in this video he had B-52's... he had fighter planes, tanks he had half tracks, jeeps the list goes on forever plus he had a 12 fence around his property you could only see these things from the road I guess he got them there by taking them apart as far as the huge planes and putting them on a truck and dropping them on his huge property...Was like WW2 in his back yard truly amazing...After he died everything was sold off they wanted $10 to walk in the gate...Not sure what things sold for but I heard he got them all there after WW2 was over they had people with walkie talkies surrounding his whole property to make sure nobody got in free or took anything... people would come in with flatbeds and take away half tracks makes you Wonder where a life time of hard work went....🤔🤔
Watched this video in horror at what they've done to the Normandy invasion front, I've been there 4 time's in the 90's and everywhere was original, how it was during the fighting, practically untouched, the original Pegasas Bridge was still in place, but now for the sake of tourism there are carparks, buildings, gift shops, cafés, concrete paths everywhere, metal railings on bunker roofs, they have dececrated the whole area.
Very well done, soft unobstructive music. For those who asked, yes these are craters from bombs.. Many more of them fell there but these exploded at the right depth I guess, I wish you could correct the spelling of “POINTE du Hoc” not ponte du Hoc. You could delete and re-upload your video, to me it seems worthwhile especially because it is in your title. Yes, the walk paths are too clean now ! I made my own video in 2010 and it still looked relatively unchanged by the passage of time. Thank you for your efforts. I was in France at that time !...15 yrs old !
It's a wonderful video, especially in showcasing the sacrifice of the Americans liberating Europe. However, as is so common in American and French accounts, the British and the rest of the Commonwealth barely exist. Their graves remain unknown, unvisited (though wonderfully cared for). Their contribution to victory remains implicit only in those sinking caissons of the Mulberry Harbours.
Exactly. It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about the draft-dodging Trump pushing America toward a Nazi-style fascist regime. How close we came to Hitler's Germany makes me shudder to think. The January 6th assault on the joint session of Congress was America's burning of the Reichstag. Democracy held by a thread that day.
What software did you to make the Normandy sky so blue 😁 great video, was there this summer 2019, your video makes me wanna go back! Great work you did with these pictures!
Why was it necessary to land troops directly under the German machine guns? On the beach, where there is not even a stone to hide? The coastline of France is 3,500 kilometers long. Couldn't there have been a better place?
i believe they are concrete casions that the allies built in Great Britain and towed them across the channel, they have valves on them and when in correct position they opened the valve to sink and create a man made breakwater.

Excellent video footage, I visited Normandy in 1986, it was like returning after a long time. Thanks. GV
Very well put together Video and excellent musical choices. Stunning views and great camera work.

Tolles Video ! Danke ...
Great video. Five stars.
Too bad the Tiger at the end is missing so many parts and in the incorrect cammo for it’s period and location.
just watch your film. What a great job you did love the background music goes so well with the shots thank you for sharing this moment in time from a New Zealand guy to you.
Very good documentaries. I´ll go to visit these places any time.

Thanks for sharing, I was there 2 weeks after your video date, spent an amazing week visiting as many historic battle sites in Normandy as possible.
I've never wanted to Go to another country but now I would love to go to France and tour this and all the other battel sites thank you for sharing
I visited in May, brilliant, just do it.

one af the best normandy video on YT... very complete (I have been living in Normandy since 1970).
Brought back memories of my trip to Normandie in 2019.
Good camera technique. Glad to be able to see it.
What were those side of a building looking like structures that spanned out into the water were they bunkers at one time ?
Love this show and its angles of filming are superb thanks very much
Géniale la vidéo !! Merci !!
I was there, also in Bastogne and Dunkerque.
Magnifique vidéo
Increible video, magnífica música, felicidades !!
Thank you for that exelent video, it's a shame the Tiger at the end is missing so many parts and is incorrectly painted.
So many lives lost on both sides and these are their memorials.
Great video....thanks for posting.
The photography and drone work are stunning. Thank you. Only comment, it's Utah beach, not utha.
What time of year were you at Pointe du Hoc? It looks like you had the place to yourself.
Epic..... compelling...... speechless......

Awesome video
All our brave men lost, to save the ungrateful good ole USA. It’s heartbreaking to see what’s happened to our nation. God bless the brave🙏🏻

Visited these places as a boy, Point du Hoc got torn up bad. But the Germans had moved all the guns back.

5:22 5:46 what are these?
Those were concrete barges for unloading supplies from allied ships after taking the beach at Normandy.
OutlawstarOOI Oh.. Thank you!!
Such a shame Germany lost.
They lost the war but won the battle, but their names and history forever told until now, the best top benchmark of history ever.
@@sixdays_26 The Nazis are still around. They just rebranded themselves in the United States as the Republican Party.
Army COOL
Got it al fxxck offerte
