Phil Collins is a very generous man. Phil used his multiple God-given gifts to the best of his ability! Phil is an international treasure! Thank you Phil for giving the Alamo collection to the state of Texas! Thank you for writing and singing the soundtrack to my and many others lives! Phil are a humble, humorous, generous legend!
It’s unfortunate that almost 4 years later they still haven’t worked out a proper building to house Phil’s most generous, complete collection! It would be a shame to lose it because of politics! God Bless.

this is incredibly generous of Phil. good for him and good for texas and american history. In some way this will also benefit Phil in a way he may have not thought about... these artifacts hold energy. energy of the people who used them...the places they were used. these are war artifacts. people killed and died using and holding them. a large collection like this really does not belong in a personal home. its a little dangerous. you can only clear so much of that stuff! so good for him. I love Phils contribution to this world in generalI (I LOVE his music) so Im glad his space may be clearer for him, amplifying his happiness. XOXO

💙My brother had a Davey Crockett outfit that my mom made for him. I still remember the song! Lol
Phil is right!! We (Humanity) need to keep (cherish, protect) history for future generations. It's our (his)story of how we got where we are today, how mankind struggled/suffered, overcome, invented/accomplished great things! Even died for our convictions and beliefs!
We can't let that "touchable" living history fade away like a blood stained battle ground in the rain!
Texas/Alamo is so lucky that Phil donated that HUGE Alamo collection to them! AND that live museum he created! Just so fabulous!!!😲😍🥰What a treasure!!!😍👏 👏👏👏
    (The collection AND Phil Collins!!🥰)
    Bless you Sir Phil! 👑

I remember coming to San Antonio for summer vacation and went to this small Alamo museum across the street. My dad realized that the voice overs were recorded by phil collins at the section of the model sets. I guess one of the workers there heard him bring that up and told us that he is giving a speech at the alamo as we were speaking. We went outside and sure enough there he was on that podium. I was pretty young soon to be in my teens and didnt know who he really was until I got home a few days later. I booted up my Grand Theft Auto game and the first song in the car radio was sure enough... I Don't Care Anymore by him. I thought it was a wild coincidence and will never forget those moments for unexpectedly introducing me to his career.

Just unboxed and skimmed thru for an hour or so "The Alamo And Beyond" by Phil Collins. I have only one word to describe my initial opinion. MARVELOUS!
Well written. Great photography of artifacts & Ephemera. All the documents are transcribed & where necessary, translated from Spanish.
Don't remember what it cost on Amazon, but worth every penny. Next step is to find a comfy chair among my meager, in comparison, antique collection...None from The Alamo, sadly.....and give it a thorough read.

Watching this back now, I can't believe the difference in Phil's physical appearance and condition from 2014 to say 2016 when he started his solo tour. Such a shame about the problems that occurred during his medical procedures and his alcoholism. Thankfully he's managed to overcome all of that and in his own words is lucky to still be around to tell the tale.

SPacy sam aku holT I agree but I think the guy was trying to brag about how much Phil knows about the Alamo and unfortunately he couldn’t think of another way besides tearing others down. I do think it’s true though that normal everyday people including all people who had elementary level history - can’t tell you much more than it was the “Texans versus Mexicans”! He had the privilege of introducing an absolute legend in Phil Collins you would think that he would have thought about it before hand but it is what it is.
God Bless Phil for his donation.

Andrew Lloyd Some people think everything is a conspiracy. Look at other shots of the Alamo from that direction and distance, even on Google image. If you angle from either side you see modern buildings or fram a greater distance. The trees in foreground may also cover up distant buildings. It's all online. Good for Phil Collins to give his collection to the Alamo archives.
